@@powerfulstrong5673 Man what’s wrong with you and high-rises? Like I said before look it up and you will see that Dallas has a lot of high-rises. You must be blind otherwise you would see that Dallas is one of the top cities in the country when it comes to high-rises. Don’t take my word for it just look it up in Google. It’s easy to do research these days. I’ll only take a little time and effort. You must be doing this on purpose because if you really are paying attention you would see that Dallas has more high-rises than just about any other city in the U.S other than cities like New York and LA. The question here is why am I wasting my time trying to convince you of something that is so obvious? It is a waste of time. Never mind don’t listen to me keep thinking what you will.

Most American cities lack density, spread out, aren't very urban, and are car dependent. This is only downtown Dallas which only has about 20 thousand people living in it, the rest of greater Dallas is 383.4 sq mi(993 sq km) of low density suburbs. The majority of Americans also live in suburbs which are unwalkable.

what is that blue skyscraper on the left supposed to be? I don't think it ever got built. LOL
I understand that right now during covid, it's hard to get into a lot of stuff, but NOTHING about the Sculpture Garden? or the Asian Art Center? or the Meyerson? or the Opera House? or Thanksgiving Square? or Guadalupe Cathedral? or the Farmer's Market? One Arts Plaza?
My three favorite views of downtown at night (these are not walking trips). FIRST: 1 - take Central Expy (I45) south. 2 - take exit to Woodall Rodgers. 3 - go up the ramp and veer right. 4 - enjoy the view of downtown on the left and Uptown on the right. SECOND: 5 - (continuing from previous step) take the Pearl St. exit. 6 - right on Pearl. 7 - start trying to find some on street parking (if you turn left on Thomas, there's a garage immediately to the left, but there's a charge, but if you eat at one of the restaurant, they validate). 8 - Anyway, walk to the corner of Pearl and McKinney, look west and view the skyscrapers and residential towers. THIRD: Sylvan Ave Bridge. This is especially good on nights with fireworks, although get there early. It doesn't totally shut down, so you can only park in the median or along the shoulders.

The blue skyscraper to the left is the AMLI tower, is an apartment tower which is already open

Dallas is landlocked, no beaches, mountains, very few tourists, and boring, however its what you make it for yourself

You could’ve been one of the first to show the new AT&T Discovery District but for some reason you skipped it and kept walking around the outside area as if avoiding it on purpose. Otherwise you did a good job of showing some parts of downtown Dallas.

Not many people realize that less than 150 years ago Dallas consisted of a few log cabins and at the most a couple hundred people living in the area. If you compare that to most north eastern cities or European cities you realize that Dallas is a baby compared to the much older cities in Europe, Asia and the northern U.S. Give us another fifty years and let’s see what Dallas looks like. Not saying that Dallas is not a great city today because obviously it is but the future it’s really wide-open for Dallas.

@@imo1933 Are you saying that New York, Boston, Philadelphia and the other big northeastern cities of the United States are less than 150 years old? Those were the American cities I was talking about,

Dallas will never be a world class city. There's no waterfront and it's no access to a significant body of water. Public transportation is lacking. It's generally not walkable. For it to sustain future growth, they will need to build more "lakes" or reservoirs.

That monument in the JFK Memorial Plaza omg what an eye sore and so disgracefully unkempt. Dealey Plaza on the other hand looks like it might be a pleasant place to be for some quiet reflection. Good to see some pedestrians out and about giving the place a bit of energy but overall the downtown area, apart from traffic, seems pretty deserted, which is quite strange for a city of that size. Enjoyed the viewing nonetheless. 👍
