@@theinternetisaseriesoftube5107 I will be having a dig first weekend in may . That way everyone has the chance to come out. I'll put out the notice on a video and ig soon.
Wonderful video of a wonderful day. Your videos set the gold standard for recreational prospecting videos. It was great to meet up with you and the locals only crew for a day on the river. It seems that gold really does grow on trees... or at least it does for J.C. I just reserved a riverside cabin in Downieville for August 8 -15. I'm planning to be up in Auburn and Nevada City for a week in front of that period and a week after it too. I may also do a short trip in June. So, I am hoping we can do some prospecting in shorts and t shirts with plenty of sunshine summer. In the meantime, please keep the killer videos coming. Aloha.
Nice I will be camping with the family in August at that time unfortunately but I might be able to get up earlier around the 8th/9th. I'll for sure try I want to get up to that area bad! If not June will probably work though, I had fun out there on the river with ya Tim, can't wait to get back out there in some better weather!
If you could come up for any of that time in August that would be great. There will be some choice spots in incredibly scenic locations that we will have access to then. I am also going to try to make it over in June and hope to get together with you and the guys then too. It's about time to put your artistic talents to work on an underwater sniping video. I want to see one where JC snipes up a shiny nugget and petey goes swimming! Thanks for all the great videos. Aloha.
Good morning Jerry, great video, nice to see you and of bunch of prospectors out prospecting, thank you for the video and letting me be on the journey with you, see you next great adventure of prospecting gold.
Beautiful location, that river looks rough, wouldn't want to fall in, LOL. Kool tree crevice gold. Well done. Cheers for sharing, happy hunting Alicia & Steve
Nice `Devils Dice` and gold, another great day out guys! Your headache could be from your neck, I have that same thing happen to me every now and then.
That White Alder is probably 100 years old. They don't get very big, but, Boy! They hold on to those rocks! Very fine root tendrils that can hold gold.
I don't know if y'all know this. You'll see those small deposits of gravel? I've scrapped the top off those and unearthed false bedrock. Essentially a layer of clay(reddish, usually)that has trapped everything that passed across it. THAT'S where the flood gold is. Right on the surface of the clay and a little embedded in the clay will be any gold that ended up there. I found a 1/4 oz nugget in false bedrock.
Thanks for the tip! I looked into this and I believe your right but its a .32 caliber rim fire as the diameter matches perfect! very old indeed, here's the closest photo I've found www.gunbroker.com/item/797992322
This is hilarious I did the same thing the creek in my neck of the woods , it was old tree truck dead on the rivers edge but was full of gravel so i panned it out and had a bunch flakes 👍
got the new gps and a chisel to split the quartz that lays on the ground see if it has gold in it and walk back to see where it comes from and some safety glasses I was out at the east fork and was beating on some quartz with the rock hammer and had to close my eyes each time no gold just a big piece of quartz the stuff I see has pyrite and the rust all over it the one guy says the gold will stick to the pyrite you ever watch dan hurd up in british columbia canada you guys are a great source of info to find the shiney
The rivers flowing west out of the Sierra Nevada mountains of California in the springtime are hissing ribbons of blue grey, ice cold water. Boulders the size of coke vending machines grinding in to the bedrock an inch every thousand years. If you put your ear to the ground, you'll hear the boulders snap and crack as they roll along.
Five gallon bucket trick. Flusher tube with 5/8 or 3/4 thin-walled tube so it can be flattened and made into different shapes can you use a suction gun to make one do you have to drill a lot of relief holes in it and make it better handle leave the tube in the gun about inch and a half gold will stay in the gun. Use your best skills luck has nothing to do with it!
I love to see all of you find some gold ! Keep up the hard work and you will finger it out. Hint. Cover more ground with 5 guys hot spots only. Mining ground that is 10$ a day per man or less? You all are good worker's and got the just of it spread out. Kind of like Fishen if there no fish well!

Thats a black powder muzzle loader round. Its got nothing for a cartridge to grab onto to hold it in place. I would guess 1800's
Oscar we have determined by diameter and photos that it is an old .32 rimfire round, most likely pre 1900's
@@californiamotherlodeprospect I would not have guessed a cartridge round due to the shape of the bullet. How did they get a brass cartridge to grab that kind of bullet.
@@californiamotherlodeprospect It sure did look like a mini ball round to me. There were over 1,000,000 springfields by 1860.
