McMaster-Carr has the cad files for most fasteners

I use Fusion 360 for projects at home all the time (we have it at work too, but we still primarily use Creo). I used it to design the workbench I built last week and for how I’m going to repurpose the crate into the work table/storage for the plane once the kit arrives. It is an absolutely fantastic tool, super fast for easy stuff like this, and awesome that they make the personal version free. Details aside (if you learn how to properly use dimensions and constraints as it will make it even easier) you did exactly what I’m going do to design my panel. Use the DXF to define the cutouts. Use the IGES to build a solid model and check fit. For a first timer, great job. Love the initiative to learn something new to help you build better and showing others how easy it is to do. It’s part of why the journey is so rewarding. Kudos. Another inspiring video on a truly fantastic build.

Turned out amazing. I can't wait to check it out in person.

Impressive. I don't know F360 good enough to tell you if there is a better way. In SolidWorks i would place the components very roughly and then use constrains: select all the upper edges of the cutout and make them coincident, then add smart dimensions between them and select the distance i would like. Advantage is that you can still change those dimensions later and it will change in your assembly view. I assume that F360 has something similar. But whatever, you got it done, looks sweet.

Thanks Jan! I have to assume that’s possible in fusion as well, I just don’t know how yet. I’ll get it figured out👍

Very nice! Can you share the file for the blank panel or similar, maybe with the screw holes and air vent holes? Would be great to have something like that to get started.

Thanks Ron! The file from rans is just the perimeter fastener holes and the vents so it wouldn’t gain ya anything.
