  • My gym was shutdown, so I made this. :-)
Total cost for this DIY pull up station was about $50 (I already had the tools and scrap wood.)

@Michael Pick ....brilliant solid doorway solution bud ...thanks for sharing!
I'm no engineer, and I'm a fairly heavy dude (230lbs), living in a rental apt with concrete walls, so hoping something like this would solve my need.
So, the pressure during pull ups is placed almost entirely on the vertical studs, and butting the bottom of the mounting board against the top of the door frame would alleviate the weight of the mounting frame, so the board would only require 4 x 1½" to 2" concrete/wood screws into the wall, just to stabilize the lateral motion, am I right?
Could I go in a short as a 1' deep design? Are you still using this solution?
    Cheers!

      Sorry! I just saw this!
You should be ok with pretty much any screw that can stabilize the lateral motion. Most of the weight is on the two 2x4 studs. I'm at 205 lbs myself, and I still have this set up in my apartment. It's super solid!

What sort of bar is that you're using? looks like galvanized pipe? what size/schedule?

You are correct! It's a 1.75" galvanized pipe I purchased at my local hardware store. Really, any pipe will do, you just want to make sure it's comfortable for your grip.

Well... To be honest, I totally respect your work and passion but still I personaly dont see any sens in creating something like this 😅. Just use normal pull up bar and count your pull ups 💪😁. Summing up cool thing but useless 😅😁

I did it because I wanted to. :-) I agree, it's totally overkill, but that's part of the fun.
