One thing about some of the HYBE groups is that they are not all the same. I've been a K pop fan for about 10 years but only stan, buy and pay attention to a few groups. Of course I love BTS for their talent and content that can be deep in ideas and feelings. I noticed TXT because their storyline and concept was intriguing, .They are talented artists. I fell in love with the members who became Enhypen by watching the survival show I land. Because there were only 23 trainee it was easier to get invested in the members who made it to debut. ( Smart move PD Bang and Big Hit) That gets me to Enhypen one of my favorite groups. At the beginning I followed them because of my connection with I land but not I stan them because they are not your average boy group. Their concept is unique and well thought out. Their discography is varied and more mature. They are very talented The way Belift is managing them has allowed them to grow as artists. Their first world tour was planned for smaller venues in the US. This allowed for them to grow as live performers while playing to sell out crowds Each time they come back to the states they play to larger crowds in bigger venues. They will perform at Coachella this year, not bad for a K pop boy group who are only 4 years old. I say all of this to point out that when a company does the same thing over and over they are bound to fail. Trying to make a group the next BTS is a plan that is also doomed to fail. Letting a group be who they are and allowing them to grow as artists is something that YG and SM entertainment need to learn. I love BTS but that doesn't mean that there isn't room for more talented people to rise to the top.
You are exactly correct. I like many groups and my tops are BTS, seventeen, Txt and Enhypen for boy groups. They are all different and that’s why they are all able to be successful at the same time in their own ways
I too resonate with your points !! I am an ARMY for more than 8 years so naturally, I have followed TXT and enhypen since their debut.. And honestly enhypen has really captured a special space in my heart, which I thought was never again going to happen 😇
Like Agust D said "Crazy that you'd think that my success has a connection to your failure". BTS is not keeping anybody from winning, there will always be room for real talent and authenticity.
That's a good point. There's always room for more groups and talent to appear, but they have to be allowed to be their own people and show how weird/cool/sweet/awkward/smart they are. That's why eventually we can see who is manufactured or who doesn't have anything to say in interviews, and who are the ones we'll respect like crazy and end up stanning forever. I started as Army but ended up also being a big fan of Stray Kids, Taemin, Aespa, Hwasa, I.M, Jay Park. Their styles are all over the place but all of them have a lot to say and a lot of individual talent and bring new ideas to their songs and videos.
BP will tour same time with BTS I 2026??? That would be qnother marketing flop for YG. Perhaps, they go to Countries where they can truthfully sell out but I learned from my ARMY friend in the US that BP could barely sell out in the US and Europe. Hence, the Coachella and Lalapallooza performance. She went to Twice concert and it was full house but in a BP show she went was not full house and some audiende even left the show early. And, she also attended Jhope's Lalapallooza and it was the biggest Lalapallooza act she ever saw. For Rosie, after seeing her at the latest Paris show with DG, #Taeyang and Hoby, an arena concert would be dangerous for her. Until she performed the APT, her Act was not for that kind of show. My Friend went to LA and Vegas PTD concerts and she said every night with BTS is a different experience even if it's the same concert. She also attended in one of Suga's shows.
I agree with YG marketing position. Sandara from 2NE1 also said that their music videos is very expensive. YG invest in visual first. The music is only for entertainment only, NO VALUE. The message is simple like: "I am cool", "I am the best", "You are trash", etc. There are many people that attract of those kind of music and they want also be glamour. That is different from BTS concept of their album. BTS concept is always the message. The visual follow the message. So BTS can do many music genre, many visual concept, but the message always follow the concept of the album. At that time, only BTS did something like this. Other k-pop group, concept is visual: badass, girl crush, cute, sexy, school uniform, dark, etc. Only BTS have lyric about social phenomenon, politic, education system that they criticized, since Seotaji and The Boys. Love yourself as message, BTS started to popularized and many k-pop groups followed although sometimes cringed.
That's why BTS has longevity. They keep coming up with new concepts, new messages, new genres, new collabs. It's the same 7 reinventing themselves every time but yet staying true to their original vision. BTS will not get stale and boring. They are risk takers and visionaries. True artists. BTS knocks down doors and paves new paths for others to follow and grow from.
@@bereasonable8018 It certainly would be nice if more artists- or their labels, which is more to the point- took the hint and grew a bit. The K-pop industry seems very conservative to me; they want the success, but they just don't get off the established path and take risks. Quite the contrary, they savagely criticized BTS and Hitman Bang for doing so. Still do. And yet they all want to be the next megastar. It's like wanting to cook a better cake than your competitor at the cake-baking contest, but refusing to use the oven because you're scared of it.
The synopsis for Mr. Queen was wrong. The chef travels back in time but he/his mind wakes up on the body of the queen. That's the struggle. This series is really great! All my family watched it and everybody love it.
However, the script was bought from China for a lot of money. Where, China just copied all of S.K. drama and songs wo paying loyalty fees. There was a lot of controversy with the drama.
Fake it until you make it, doesn't always work. if you have the heart and determination you will. I used to like BP. But I do not feel like welcomed in their music. Their music is so typical, regardless of if they change it into what BTS is doing. Nothing compares and nothing will ever be like BTS. NO ONE.
Exactly. One of BTS' strong points is that they make fans feel seen and accepted. A group that's based on luxury and exclusivity cultivates a fanbase that feels inferior to their idols as opposed to feeling a deep metaphysical connection to the group.
BP could do so much more as a group. Like really put something more personal in their group songs. I fell off listening to their music when kill this love came out.. I’ll still check them out cuz if I like a song, I like it. If I don’t, I continue on with my life as someone else will like it.. like no big deal ya know. But their lyrics are the same basic message conveyed slightly different due to wording. I do not connect with their music anymore but like I said, if I like a song, I add it to my playlist. It’s okay if I don’t too. Blinks are starved for way too long and are used to it as well - they accept what they’re given and that shows YG that it works, so why change anything? Nothing truly beats BTS and their lyrics. Their content even seems more genuine and meaningful. They want to communicate with army as often as they can. Anyways, I’m still holding out hope that Blackpink will comeback with something refreshing.. that hope is only like 5% but it’s still there. That way I’m not disappointed that yet again they have nothing great to say themselves other than the usual. I also don’t get girl empowerment from them at all.. to end my ranted ramblings - no one can do what BTS do or will do or have done. It’s just a fact.
My outsider random thoughts: 1 - YG has cultivated a very strong company stan nature. when you see a blink profile they almost all also list babymonster, and many are loyal to BB, but because their bench strength at YG is so weak they become almost violent in their defense of the label and artists for no reason while simultaneously hating YGs inability to properly manage the groups. It's very odd to witness. 2 - As a wester non-kpoppie they needed to invest in BP way earlier, like 2017. I know in korea BB reigns but I had never heard of them and once i heard them I didn't get it (and still don't, apologies). Who did I hear about via YT recommendations? BP. They may have been able to turn the BP members a bit more into musicians but also just greatly ramp up their catalog & even the girls' loyalty to YG. They were the one group that could have brought them in huge international revenue but it seems they were way to wrapped up in BB in that well. 3 - I know nothing about babymonster except that they are entirely propped up by ads. They may be talented, they may have potential but if there is no influx of new fans being brought in by them they will not succeed purely by living off Blinks. 4 - seeing all those random companies that YG bought made me chuckle. So many companies once they get an influx of cash start buying up random stuff without consideration of how it works toward the identity of the corp as a whole and the more you move outside of your strengths, the more you are at risk of failure bc you don't know how to manage or market those new types of businesses.
YG artists are all show, but nothing behind from what I experienced. I was in Paris to the Gala des pieces Jaunes and it was a beautiful event with many talented artists. Only downside was YG stans making it about a fan war. YG artists against BTS/j-hope. It didn’t need to be that. People could have just enjoyed the concert. Dumb GD/Taeyang stans left after the performance of the two, leaving them alone when they came back on stage in the end. Imagine you have fans so hateful, they don’t even wait for the concert to be over. Yes, there were armys online saying armys should have leftafter j-hope to show who the majority of the crowd showed up for, but looking at the lightsticks, army seemed to enjoy the whole concert and cheered for all artists. YG/Taeyang/GD fans might have lined up super early and were in the front of the pit, but after Taeyang/GD performance they left en mass. They didn’t even leave the stage yet, when people left the pit. Same after Rose. So many people just left. All the fans with BP lightsticks near me left after Rose. And then, GD and Taeyang didn’t really show up tithe expectations, imo. I’m no stan, but I can respect other artists and their achievements. But their performance was a bit half baked, especially compared to the other artists there. Taeyang's emotional performance of eyes, nose, lips was boring and underwhelming. He just stood there, acting emotional, but those feelings didn’t deliver and majority of the vocals was playback. I don’t need to see an artists live to hear the version I hear on CD. We heard John Legend before. He had sat at a piano, playing, no real performance, but he brought emotions and incredible vocals. The concert also had many black singers and rappers. Compared to them, GD looked like a clown. It was honestly a reality check. He also barely rapped his song power, which apparently no one seemed to know. The refrain "power, power, power" was just repetitive enough for the audience to catch on. What I can say tho, GD and Taeyang are bigger than big bang. No one seemed to know the Big Bang song they performed, lol. I heard people in the line waiting say tho: "who even is g dragon?" I wanted to scream if I’m being honest, but I guess I’m old Good boy is probably that song that you know, when you get into kpop, right? So people enjoyed it. Still, majority of the performance were GD and Taeyang screaming into the mic "I’m ready" - "you ready?" - "I’m ready" and the whole song was playback. I already talked about GD's weird outfit (and people might disagree that it’s just his style, it’s okay), but Taeyang looked like that one guy who was successful in school sports and then didn’t manage to grow up. His outfit really wasn’t the best choice and I don’t even want to body shame, because as you get older, the body changes and it’s harder to keep low body fat percentage, but that jeans that was so tight it gave him a muffin top was definitely a choice, I’m so sorry. The show host tried hard to get a fanchant for Rose going. They definitely wanted her to be the highlight of the show and I love that she got the moment to be down on the floor with fans, but the audience didn’t catch on to that. Same like Taeyang's Eyes, Nose, Lips, Rose couldn’t bring any emotions. It was a dull performance. People keep defending her saying it was a slow song, but again, John legend also caught the crowd with ballads and the atmosphere was magic when he performed. Only APT got the crowd going, which is okay. APT is gangnam Style 2.0, a fun song with an easy melody. So it was kinda okay that rose's vocals weren’t there. Especially when she ran through the crowd, she sounded awful because she was so out of breath. On video it was a cute moment and people probably see it and think "omg, front row was able to get pics with her and high five her", but that’s about it. I wish more artists would have interacted with the crowd like that tho Compared to the YG artists, J-Hope (and all the french artists) barely had playback. It might have been off putting to non fans that the whole refrain of mic drop was playback and J-Hope only did the rap parts, but at least he did the whole rap part, not like GD who just shouted some words from his rap. For fans it obviously wasn’t any question, why j-hope didn’t do the vocal lines part. And I also think the performance was impressive because of the fan chants. The show had amazing French artists. All of them performed without playback. So the YG artists really came off a bit lazy and half baked. Even tho there were fans screaming (screaming - not fan chants) their performances didn’t get the same excitement and it was even more noticeable because they were so directly compared to the over artists. Can’t be the main event when you’re being overshadowed by everyone else I get the same feeling from BM. They seem to be very talented idols. I heard many people talk about how talented they are and from what I saw, they are good - but not special. They don’t give this feeling of excitement. When I listen to them, they are nice to listen more, but there is no spark. Nothing why I want to get more into them. After writing all of this, I came to the conclusion, YG artists only have stage presents in the right setting. With the right camera angles, backtrack and what not, but they can’t carry a stage. They just don’t have any stage performance skills.
I don't think BM will become bigger than BP because YG can't marketed them against other bigger group from their generation. BP debuted when BTS were becoming popular in the west so YG could marketed them as "their direct competence", that's why I believed they become that popular worldwide. But it doesn't seem to BM. Unless they change their girl cursh concept or make a viral hit, it looks they already reached their peak. Maybe I'm wrong who knows 🤷♀️
absolutely true! had it not been for the association with bts, they wouldn't have gotten as big to begin with. it's weird and honestly just annoying to see that they still so this, market bp in the same places/ at the same time were bts take place (comeback dates etc.) to make it look like they're on the same level. bm, or any other group, cant use that technique now, they're left to actually fight on their own to stand out, which isnt easy especially with unoriginal/ played out concepts, marketing strategies and music (identity.)
@@ajlee2168 True. And I'm starting to realize that they tried to do the same in the past. Like for example Big Bang, YG put them against TVXQ and SuperJunior, marketing them on the same level of success when in reality the ones who were selling most were the SM groups. And I think they did the same with 2en1, putting them against Wonder Girls and SNSD.
All smoke and mirrors in the end that never works if takes money and time pretending when you could use those resources on managing better and slowly growing and improving your brand.
YG sold some of their Black Label share. Now the share: Teddy (42%) Saehan Venture Investment (28%) YG Entertainment (21.59%). So, YG is not the majority share holder of Black Label.
BP knows that YG is screwed without them. They’re now able to use YG to promote them as solo while using the excuse of promoting the group. If YG wasn’t there to promote the group then each girl has to spend the money to promote themselves as solos. Their solo careers are more lucrative while the group is still being pushed. More effort has to go into promoting each solo girl if they didn’t have the promotion for group.
Thank you for talking about this. YG isn’t what it used to be and I think it’s place in the big 3 plus HYBE is even in jeopardy they always have the same concept for their groups and their music is similar and not much depth or meaning. Some are great and gets you pumped up but the same old tricks aren’t going to work if others are so much more fresh and diverse. This is where HYBE shines because they make concepts fitting to each group. Yg makes their groups to fit yg’s concept. I like some of Treasure’s songs and they are great performers but poorly managed and marketed by YG. Babymonster is super talented as you’ve said and I think they may even be one of the most talented girl groups to ever debut. But their songs aren’t impactful and their concept is overdone. I also worry about them being so young and this mature image is being forced on them. I think if yg could be more creative and give them a concept that matches them better with songs that resonate with more people they could come close to BP’s success.
Now imagine the pressure being put on Baemon to be successful. This is not some Nugu company hoping their group becomes successful. This is the company of Big Bang and Blackpink. Can those young girls handle the pressure of having to essentially save YG. In my opinion I don't think so, they are to young and they will mentally crash and burn.
The quality over quantity ideology does not work in the kpop system. Kpop is all about newer and more. Making your company brand about exclusivity/luxury is contrary to reliance on the GP.
I think the correct ideas is what which n how qualities are they polish n present , if hybe is polish for quality that have some nudges here and some small uneven paint so the artist still showing themselves through all the fancy stuff , while yg paint it with brush on every details possible, it's by design faulty since the artist themselves barely showing what they're n once they get some freedom for yg case it's mostly end up harming the image yg build ,further more they end up unable to express their own artistic creativity within those said image boundary, just like bp which showed entirely different discography after leaving(individual contract) yg
Tour depends on bts tour they should always make blackpink related with bts name so they say the biggest kpop groups bts and bp are having comeback or having an world wide tour to make it feel bp are same level and successful as bts and now they push big bang, same attention france jhope rose big bang the kings of kpop...... They use bts name always so people feel they are huge too
We will find out because BTS won’t tour until 2026 but it was already announced that those other groups had planned comebacks for 2025 based on the assumption that BTS would immediately tour soon after they reunite in June
Technically neither is doing anything for YG. BP is more or less signed in name only and if you look them up you will noticed that they rarely releeased music. They are supposedly releasing music this year and go on tour next to match with BTS - trying to steal some of the interest of the wave they will create. As pointed out that only works if none of their solo careers is getting a boost because their charting is not that good with the exception of APT and that only works because it is a Bruno Mars song. BB.. does also technically not exist anymore and none of them is signed with YG. Taeyang is signed with the Black Label like Rose - which is pretty independent. But YG f* up the resigning of G-Dragon when they did not help him with the made-up drug case and he signed with a friend that actually helped. TOP is acting in Squid Game 2 and what his future plans are I do not know. If BB makes music it will not be under YG.
Yeah. And? I mean we know how SM got where they were - before BH beat them - with real fraud - the Koreaboo article in 2023 after the LSM vs. SM fight that translated a Dispatch article was very interesting. Everybody knows but no one cared as it brought the wished for success.
@ Most stuff is BS, you are right. They can tell you what is talked about but usually little else. That said every few months an article appears that has actual information and is well made. That was one of them even if it was only a translation.
Rosie did supprising well at the French Gala she sounded really good. At one point she looked a little nervous but the guy playing piano for her gave her really lovely smile which seemed to help her a lot.
They are not succesfull as solo without microstreaming and live nobody knows their songs. I do not see them touring, the risk is to big. Also they are more interested in their own private lives.
It was going to happen because when you are a "Music Label" and you only pump out 1 album of your biggest group in 3 years you going to collapse. Even BTS are releasing albums/singles while still enlisted, why? Because it keeps them relevant and connected with the fanbase and general audience.
Her album isn't 'highly successful'. Given the amount of promo and payola put into her release, the numbers should have been better objectively speaking. One song is highly successful...because of the collab. It's why her other releases have not hit at all. You can clearly take the girl outta YG and their tactics but you can't take the tactics outta the girl.
Kimmy please do not believe the fake news about the guys while in the military. Do you think if this was true, BH would have not issued an official statement? There are so many fake news BTS channels out there since they've been in the military just making up crap for clicks. I've decided that if it doesn't come from BTS's mouth, BH announcement, or an announcement from the Korean military, then it's just a rumor.
Jungkook is fine. Stop believing false information. Jungkook recently posted on wevsers that he is fine. If people keep spreading false information he will sue them. Unless information comes from bts or bighit don't believe it
Yeah seriously, don't believe everything you see/hear. BTS being so big, it would be an " international" incident/news if something happens to JK while in the military. It would be ALL over the news. Ha
My POV: This is what’s happening to Hybe right now. They are attempting to stay alive by forcing the military to release these artist to make music and lieing to the public. This is going to bite them. My POV 😊
BTS are all COMING BACK AFTER finishing their time in military. Do not spread these kind of rumours. Yes! The kpop industry is facing disinterest in west and the industry is waiting for the whole group to start making music.
They are already conglomerate and they are buying music company in states and establishing other companies like in japan and Latin America. They don't have to force the military to release their artist since BTS are soon finishing their military service. Before BTS went into military service they already recorded their solo albums and single music.

I heard people in the line waiting say tho: "who even is g dragon?" I wanted to scream if I’m being honest, but I guess I’m old
Good boy is probably that song that you know, when you get into kpop, right?
I wish more artists would have interacted with the crowd like that tho
Compared to the YG artists, J-Hope (and all the french artists) barely had playback.
Can’t be the main event when you’re being overshadowed by everyone else
I get the same feeling from BM.
👏👏👏
Correct
YG is saving his money so he can pay NJ's penalties 😂
There is no connection.
No, that'd be SM and Kakao.
YG the kings of mediaplay and payola (just like the other 2 "big")
The quality over quantity ideology does not work in the kpop system. Kpop is all about newer and more. Making your company brand about exclusivity/luxury is contrary to reliance on the GP.
Finally someone who understands that. Evolution and growth is the key. K-pop always looks out for new trends.
@@InternetUser37
But they also recycle trends.

Is BB's music so much ddifferent now than when they were under YG?
Tour depends on bts tour they should always make blackpink related with bts name so they say the biggest kpop groups bts and bp are having comeback or having an world wide tour to make it feel bp are same level and successful as bts and now they push big bang, same attention france jhope rose big bang the kings of kpop...... They use bts name always so people feel they are huge too
We will find out because BTS won’t tour until 2026 but it was already announced that those other groups had planned comebacks for 2025 based on the assumption that BTS would immediately tour soon after they reunite in June
Are telling that BP or BB CANT support YG by themselves….🤣🤣🤣and some fans dare to compare them to BTS🤣🤣🤣🤣
Marketing my arse that's fraud.
Yeah. And?
I mean we know how SM got where they were - before BH beat them - with real fraud - the Koreaboo article in 2023 after the LSM vs. SM fight that translated a Dispatch article was very interesting.
Everybody knows but no one cared as it brought the wished for success.
@@ruthfischer7615Koreaboo that's a clickbait site they are not really a site one goes to for accurate information.
@
Most stuff is BS, you are right.
The written critics on Koreaboo seems to have been less nice from the headline I saw.
They are not succesfull as solo without microstreaming and live nobody knows their songs. I do not see them touring, the risk is to big. Also they are more interested in their own private lives.
I thought I read that the head of YG went to prison for what he did to B.I. I guess that didn't happen?
It was going to happen because when you are a "Music Label" and you only pump out 1 album of your biggest group in 3 years you going to collapse. Even BTS are releasing albums/singles while still enlisted, why? Because it keeps them relevant and connected with the fanbase and general audience.
Her album isn't 'highly successful'. Given the amount of promo and payola put into her release, the numbers should have been better objectively speaking. One song is highly successful...because of the collab. It's why her other releases have not hit at all. You can clearly take the girl outta YG and their tactics but you can't take the tactics outta the girl.
Я посмотрела гала-концерт во Франции. Розе не сможет распродать все места сольно.
Она ещё не готова как певица, слишком слаба.
Не вызывает интерес.
She is not weak okay, she realy did well
off topic: you're the only one I will believe....can you give a complete update on JK...rumors of hospitalization are flying. ty
It is a fake news.
Jungkook is fine. Stop believing false information. Jungkook recently posted on wevsers that he is fine.
If people keep spreading false information he will sue them.
Unless information comes from bts or bighit don't believe it
If BH or JK aren't raising any concerns then don't trust the rumors. The label won't allow for the mistreatment of BTS.
My POV 😊
.....😮
What?? Why do you think that?
BTS are all COMING BACK AFTER finishing their time in military.
Do not spread these kind of rumours.
Yes! The kpop industry is facing disinterest in west and the industry is waiting for the whole group to start making music.
How on earth hybe forcing the military to release the artists? All of them literally serve full term 😐 what you on about?
They are already conglomerate and they are buying music company in states and establishing other companies like in japan and Latin America. They don't have to force the military to release their artist since BTS are soon finishing their military service. Before BTS went into military service they already recorded their solo albums and single music.
