I was there in the pan yard when pelham goddard was arranging this song. I have been looking for it, for over 30 years, and I am so happy I finally got it. My cousin played for 3rd world during this era. My school was mucurapo boys R.C. just around de corner for this pan yard.
I remember when I was 8 or 9 marching to this song at my one and only school sport day! I get teary thinking about how simple things were in those days. RIP Randolph Bally, the greatest teacher a young child could ever have. Love
When i read all the comments it make me feel proud to be a trini and to know that i live thru that era truly a blessing nothing like this will ever happen again, the type of music and arranging of music pure classic
BORSE CHUNE!!!!!! Great memories for me. I was about 15years old then. Like Beverlyhillschic, I have been scouting the internet for this for yearssssssssss. THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH. One of the best renditions to ever come from a steelband. TH-cam is a Borse Tool (Errrm, no pun intended).
When we walked into Sharron's grandmother Ma's house in Bonasse, Cedros for our honeymoon in 1977, this tune was playing on the radio and we were knocked down. I am so glad to have found it again, and it will be our #1 dance tune from now.
Cool, nice to hear from someone from de ole school dazes. Remember playing in de cemetery? Flying kite, playing in de jungle, ms maxine bulls, and wat about de old woman in de house in the back dey say she was a socouyant... I will never forget my primary school daze.
Hey Panchoril - If I am not mistaken (have to tax my memory real hard) I think it was Len Boogsie Sharpe that did the Amazing Grace arrangement for Jewel 22, not Pelham Goddard. I remember the piece. Beautiful music, man.
Just found American Patrol, now I cannot remember which tune Jewel 22 played, lemme go search. Jewel 22 may have played Amazing Grace, but my search has given me nothing.
I was of the bass woman on the bass i was one of the first member of third world it was a family band it was the Stephen the Walcott the Christopher noel James taught me to beat pan
can anyone remember Jewel 22 with a similar production of ''Amazing Grace" if im not mistaken i believe Mr.Pelam Goddard did the arrangement...if so can you please download...searching in shops but cant find it.
After being 'baptized' in Columbus Bay as an Ameridadian during our stay in Cedros I've had a long distance love affair with the place. Sharron and I talk about our memories there, and about returning soon.
