  • Getting the fuel system done so we can finally drive the Monza. Next we will be installing the new drag brakes and free-flowing exhaust so we can make this thing actually fast.

    I think the Monza is a really great-looking car. Underrated on styling.
    My buddy in high school had a Monza in 1985. I believe his was a 1976?
    Man, we must’ve smoked 20lbs. of weed in that car.
    In the winter, we’d park at the mall and fog up all the windows with our breath. Then we’d smoke, drink, and jam the radio for hours.

    Nice car !! I had a 1977 Monza Mirage. I pulled the 305 out and installed a 350 4 bolt mains, 2.02 heads, 10-1 pistons. It would just sizzle those little 13" tires, Lol

    You know on the end of the air injection line where the rubber hose hooks up is a check valve a vacuum cap would actually seal it off as long as it didn't melt. the only reason you need to do that is to keep it from sucking air in at deceleration. Did you put an o-ring on that sending unit I'm guessing you did it just didn't show on the video. put bigger squirters in the carburetor it should be more responsive than that. And the distributor advanced way too much. Mad respect for using that Westside Birmingham ignition key. Hook the vacuum advance up make sure the actuators working it will make a big difference

    • @travisblack417
      @travisblack417  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That check valve wasn’t functional, plus I wanted to delete as much of the air tube as possible. The sender o-ring was replaced as well.

      190 is with stock exhaust/intake manifolds and a 2 barrel, 260 is with headers, aluminum intake, and a 4 barrel. The “290 deluxe” is the same motor as a goodwrench but with a 222°/222° cam.

      I'm a weakling, but this should change that lol. Last non-PS car was a 4cyl Mustang II and I could crank that wheel at a stop, but that was several hundred pounds lighter in the nose so I underestimated the Monza. The floppy column didn't help either

    Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars, trucks and busses including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.

      California will be doing all electrical cars by 2030 they said, so no more gas powered cars in California. Soon all these cars will be extinct. All the Mechanics will only be going to school for electric car repairs and brakes etc.
