  • In this video my Mohawk 2 post lift stopped working so had to remove the motor and pump assembly. Thinking the motor needed to be replaced I took it to my local electric repair shop and found it needed a start switch. $75 bill is better than $700. Thanks for watching and keep on wrenchin.

That is good that you were able to replace the switch instead of needing a new one.

An explanation of the original problem would help. It stopped working dosent explain when or how it has stopped working. My motor works with no load but once a car is on it and you stop the lift it wont start again. Mohawk of course recommends replacing the entire power unit at $1500.

At time stamp 4:10 I showed that the start switch inside the motor was bad. I also have a local electric repair shop, repair the motor as well. In your case it may be the same problem or a hydraulic problem. Also my voice was not in good shape while filming this video. My Apologies for that. I'm also not making excuses. Thanks for watching and the comment.

What was actually wrong, you showed a picture of a part, but you did not explain anything.

You are right I did not say what that was. My apologizes. The reason is my local electrical shop is the one that repaired the electric motor. In any case the part is called a starter switch. The switch just wore out and needed replaced. I was very lucky to have a electric repair shop in my area. Some things help is needed by professionals. I did save a lot of money removing and reinstalling it myself. I just want to show that it can be done if you have mechanical ability and with the help of this video. To at least get it to the electrical repair shop. Thanks for Watching and the Comment and I hope this helps

Do you have a part # for the start switch?
I have a 2hp Doerr motor that stopped working on my lift once the button had been jogged.
