Pirates of the Caribbean 3. It is nearly at the beginning. It is first sung by the little boy being hanged. The others picking it up. It is "The song has been sung, the call has been made" that gathers the Pirate Counsel. Cesar, him of the milky eye, is their present "Angel of Music". He could leave the listener as a puddle on the floor, his voice is so good!
He really does have an amazing voice! So silky smooth and I could not stop with the eye lol! That's right Pirate of the Caribbean 3!! I remember now. I haven't seen that since it came out in theaters. I can't believe I forgot about that 😑
The fellow with the white eye contact is named Cesar De La Rosa, the most recent full-time member of the group (since 2021.) The song was written for the movie Pirates of the Caribbean 3:At World's End. If you check out their costumes and makeup carefully, you may catch glimpses of the VP 'brands' they had added for the occasion in tribute to the 'P' for pirate that was used in the movie, and of course the rather grisly scar across Geoff's chest calls back to a key part of the film. Jose, in the center, was a last-minute stand-in for another artist who couldn't make it, which was the happiest possible accident--he makes a perfect pirate captain, and since he sings in a different range, the original guest's part had to be handed off to Eli, who absolutely smashed it. (The other guest artist has joined them since for some other amazing covers.)
And an interesting detail about Jose is that he went to high school with Cesar. Graduated 2 years ahead of him. They look in my mind at least like they would be several years apart. But they're actually fairly close together in age and performed on stage together in a school performance.
I thought one of them looked a little unfamiliar to me. He's an extremely talented guy that Cesar. I was thoroughly impressed by how clean his vocals were as well as his range! Although it's not surprising seeing the amazing talent this group brings to the table 😊
I've got it written down but I also wrote your name down and will give ya'll a shoutout because ya'll are the real MVP's! I never would have found VP if it weren't for their amazing community!
Hoist the Colors is from one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. If you want to see the beatboxer, Layne Stein, do even more, check out their cover of Nothing Else Matters.
Yay, you got to Hoist the Colours! This song is awesome. It is from one of the Pirates of the Carribean movies :) Thanks for your reaction, it was great to see ^^ Sorry I missed the premiere, wasn't near my mobile or pc. Thanks for the shoutout too. Upperleft was Cesar (with the blind eye), next to him their featured singer who is also in Drunken Sailor who is named Jose Rosario Jr, next to Jose is Eli (rock god, though Geoff can do it too which you can see in songs like Queen in 5 minutes, Oogie Boogie and Hellfire), in front of Eli (Ellie) is, of course, Geoff and next to him sits Layne, the beatboxer. I'm looking forward to your journey with Voiceplay! Thanks again and have a good day/noon/evening/night depending what the time is xD
Absolutely! Thanks for the suggestion and for coming back for some more reaction videos. I think I figured out the audio problem lol. I look forward to the massive VoicePlay journey ahead but I'm here for it. VP is lucky to have such a great fanbase!
Thank you for another VoicePlay reaction! Isn't this impressive! This one was Geoff's project/arrangement; Eli's lighting; Layne's beatboxing; Cesar is always all in acting the part. Jose was a last-minute fill-in for a guest who was unable to make it there. This is expanded from a short song in a movie. They pretty much hate the contacts, but they put them in their eyes often. These guys are all so, so talented and not only vocally. You can hear the rock grit in Eli's voice in this one. He spent about ten years as lead singer with a rock band before joining VoicePlay about 2010. Their video description shows how very much they do for themselves. Always great for reactors to call out Huldra - her channel is wonderful.
Thank you for watching! I really am super looking forward to the VoicePlay videos. They're so much fun and it always gives me chills how amazing their range is. It's on display at different times throughout their videos, but it never ceases to impress 😊
That song gives me the most intense goosebumps everytime I listen to it 🙈🙈🙈 Eli channeling his inner pirate is so intimidating but yet so BEAUTIFUL 😮🫣 VoicePlay is just amazing ❤ Thank you for your reaction 🫶🏻 By the way, the audio was great on this one 👍🏻
Thank you!!! I might have figured it out finally lol!!! This was such a fun one and I can't get over their costumes! They add so much to the overall feel of the video. The guys of course sound amazing!!!
This was my favorite up until very recently. There’s something very operatic about it to me. There’s that tapestry of sound, the incredible costuming and the storytelling. As many times as I have listened to it I’m always blown away by those last parts when Eli and Geoff both hold those notes for so long. To really get a good line on Cesar’s voice (the blind eye) , I would suggest their cover of Creep by Radiohead. I’ve never really liked that song because it always gave me incel stalker vibes for some reason. But their version is so introspective and Cesar always brings out all the emotion. His portion is heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. By the way, Cesar and Jose, who is playing the captain with the sword, were in high school theatrical productions together. One of my favorite perks about being a patron of theirs is the behind-the-scenes. It was fun to watch Cesar and Jose reunite after many years.
That sounds familiar but I wrote it down and I am looking forward to them again. They've become a fast favorite. So versatile and I love the way they mesh together so well!!
Ahh so you are on voiceplays pirate videos 😂. Check out their "what shall we do with the drunken sailor" and you will find that those guys can be great goofballs🫣
I believe that one is written in my handy dandy notebook but I wrote your name down for this suggestion and I really appreciate you returning! This one was super fun and made it even better that the audio has been fixed lol!!!
It’s good you have a list going! 😅 But now would also be the perfect time to react to some of their Christmas covers. Their newest one Zat You Sant Claus is super fun!
Oh yes!!! I have some on the list for Christmas time muahahahah!!! It's by design! Lol no I figured it would be good to get into the Christmas cheer so I moved the holiday songs up the list a bit haha. Thanks so much for the suggestion and for checking this video out!!! 😃
I'm sure it's been mentioned, but Voiceplay is considered the theater kids of acapella. Glad to see you with headphones, the only way to listen to this group. Now, continue your journey. It leads to more great music from these extremely talented people. 😊
I actually think that Seven Nation Army hasn't come up on any of the video suggestions yet tbh. I'm writing it down now and I shall add it to the list 😊 thank you so much for checking this video out!
Drunken Sailor is an unofficial sequel to this video, as Jose Rosario joins them again as well as Matthew Buckner playing the sailor in question. Bucky is a friend from way back and was a member of the group many years ago. Like HtC, DS is arranged by Geoff. As with all Geoff and VoicePlay videos, keep watching until the Patreon list scrolls. 😉
Cool! Flight School. We had a friend who had a Cessna 150. She was out bike riding on Thanksgiving and some guys hit her, probably with their outside mirror and then beat her until they thought she was dead. It took her a long time to learn to talk, to walk, to eat, etc. She sold her Cessna to us and we flew it often. Steve had gotten his pilot's license and I hadn't yet. We were flying over to Cedar Key for lunch and before we got to the airport, we had a group of sharks below us in a feeding frenzy. Steve handed me the yoke, with the admonition to not drop the plane over the sharks, but keep circling, he opened his window, got the camera and shot some photos of the frenzy. Back to some good music - VoicePlay's Christmas song this year is Zat U Santa Claus? an oldie by Louis Armstrong in 1953. Geoff's solo for your consideration is Carol of the Bells (usually fairly high) but it is epically bass. And then there is Mission: Jingle Bells - a mashup of Mission Impossible and Jingle Bells.
Thank you so much for the suggestions! I'm going to check them out ASAP. I love getting to hear all these unique versions! I think I have these written down by you from another video either way it doesn't hurt to write em again hehe 😄. Flight school is so much fun!!!
Well VP does not do sub-par despite being fully independent. As you say.. so much talent and creativity! Looking forward to whatever is next on your list 🙂. They have such a large body of work you will have a load of material to get through next year - and they add to it monthly! Have fun!🌹🕊
I did it once and totally forgot to put it back the way it was lol! I will do that for sure on this next video. In fact!....I'm going to go ahead and just get it done right now lol! Thanks so much for pointing that out and making me aware of it.

you're going to love Drunken Sailor.
Oh yes absolutely! Just make sure that you watch all the way to the end. After the music stops, there's a little bit more that happens.
I've got it written down but I also wrote your name down and will give ya'll a shoutout because ya'll are the real MVP's! I never would have found VP if it weren't for their amazing community!

Excellent recommendation for Nothing Else Matters -- metellicapella!
Glad see you still in the Voiceplay rabbit hole. Thank you so much.

Yes! Huldra is an excellent source for all things Voiceplay! You've got to see what she did with Geoff 's Carol Of the Bells!
Thank you for watching! I really am super looking forward to the VoicePlay videos. They're so much fun and it always gives me chills how amazing their range is. It's on display at different times throughout their videos, but it never ceases to impress 😊

Drunken Sailor is a fun sea shanty.
Former member from way way back in their earlier days, Bucky Buckner plays the drunken sailor. .
