My son Paul got this review done. It was a total surprise and I love it. Thank you Paul. Love you and my truck.. There is a lot more than just the rack that is after market. The truck looks great straight from the factory but the tires and rims looked like donuts they were so small so that had to get changed. That made the truck even taller and at 5’5” I couldn’t get in it, so had to add the electric running boards. Because the running boards tuck under it gives a little more clearance. The bump step is also due to my height but looks awesome. It came with single exhaust which I hated, it wasn’t loud enough so we put a massive dual exhaust on it. It still needs a horn to match. The bed cover, bed extender, and a few other little details are also after market. It is an awesome truck to drive. You are really high up and he is right, you feel like you could concur the world in this monster. It is so big, it doesn’t really feel that much different when I get in my husband’s semi.
Now that's a good-looking truck. The diesel isn't available in Power Wagons because the intercooler goes where the winch goes. I've always heard that Power Wagons ride soft. Overlanders usually have to install stiffer rear springs because the stock springs are designed for articulation. I didn't hear that Stellantis was discontinuing the truck 6.4L and I assumed that it was going to continue because heavy-duty trucks are in a different emissions class.
I love my 2022. I have to disagree with his perspective of ride quality though. Mine floats down the road for a big truck. Tire choice has a lot to do with ride stiffness. The stock Goodyears do ok, but only get about 30k miles before they loose integrity for any offroad use. Bf Goodrich KO2 tires offer superb traction in sand, rock, and in snow, where I live these are perfect all season tires. I have run the KO2 on several trucks, a jeep, and average about 50k miles before needing to get new tires. Not because they are bald, but at 50% tred depth the snow traction begins to fade. Ride is still smooth, and buttery. The steering in the 2022 is an active assist. It responds with speed of input. So if you drive with twitchy hands and constant over correction it is a wild ride. Smooth out your inputs, it floats softly. These new trucks are just that. New. For those complaining that they don’t look like a 70s beast….well no S&$#. If thats what you like, get the old school truck, and refurbish it new. Probably be about similar costs, maybe less depending on how deep you dive. The new can still perform off road with the best of them stock, and better with a few tweeks of upgrades. But who owns a stock offroad beast anyway?
I have a 22 PowerWagon. You are right about the ride.'Maybe ne has Yoko Geolander MT G003's that are awesome on and off-road. Tires are very quiet for a MT tire, and ride well in 35 years inch size. Also have very strong sliders and a bed cover. Still want a bigger gas tank. Will ultimately go for the CJC off-road Dominator suspension package!
Thanks Zack for doing a great video. Looking to having more cars for you to film soon. This is actually my Mom's truck and she absolutely loves it. As far as racks go, this one is quite beefy!
My friends dad had a black power wagon around 1980 is and I loved the ride to school. Made you feel awesome riding in it. The power wagon lettering behind the cab makes it look pretty good. Glad they were heritage for it.
This is the softest sprung 3/4 ton ever made.. has the same payload capacity as a 1500 and he’s calling the ride quality rough 😂 go ride around in any other 3/4 ton let alone a 1 ton truck then try calling this “rough”
The 6.4 in the Ram isn't leaving and the block is the same as the SRT motor - everything beyond that is different. The Power Wagon has a long history and continues be used as fire rescue, border patrol, ranching and other related categories. 90% of the offroad capability of a wrangler but with that 10% loss you gain a platform 90% capable of a work based heavy duty pick up. Still has zero competition to this day with the best alternative being a Ford F250 Tremor which still misses out on a few of the offroad goodies however gains 35 inch tires and better payload.
They actually have a thicker casting, so people use the truck motors for their high hp drag builds. Internally they're pretty similar but the trucks don't have MDS(cylinder diactivation) and obviously a different cam and intake setup for more torque down low. It's a pretty stout engine, I'd almost take one over a Cummins if I wasn't towing super heavy often. I'm sure the 6.4 would turn out more reliable
3:39 and this is why I dont like modern vehicles. Dont get me wrong they're beautiful. Hell Dodge has been making some very beautiful trucks in recent years. But ugh all this tech drives me insane. Usually i have to teach myself real quick how to function this crap when I get in customers cars at the shop.
Sorry Shooting Cars but i had to cut your video short. Thats not a Power Wagon, that truck is what Karen and Ken would drive. Dodge or Ram have seriously dropped the ball, all computerised garbage, this is no longer a real mans truck. This is what Karen drives to the mall and Ken asks for permission to drive to the gas station so Karen has enough fuel for next weeks mall trips. This is so sad. Come on Ram real men want real floor shifters for 4 wheel drive and Manuel transmissions, not stupid nobs for select a gear. Then you have those stupid TV screens to scroll through, this is all garbage.
You obviously have never spent any time with one of these vehicles. They are great on road and absolute beasts off-road. There are lots of off-roaders for sale these days, but very few even In the class of the PowerWagon.. Who gives a crap about the shifter? Answer:Nobody who actually cares about how the truck functions. I am 70 and have 0 problems running the electronics. Get a brain! Locking diffs, unlocking sway bar, 12,000 lb winch and manual locking of the 4 WD system all add up to a great 4 wheeler. If you want a 1970's truck, just buy one and refurbish it. No safety features, poor ride and crappy brakes is how they used to be. You are welcome to enjoy all that if you prefer old school. I am very happy with my 22 PowerWagon!

gotta fix that left pipe though
@@BSFJeebusgrandson here lol I did it for her last time I borrowed the truck!
@@BSFJeebus the bracket broke a few minutes before the review. My son fixed it before I picked it up.

"i know a think or two about good looking racks" 😂😂😂

That was areal Power Wagon, not the junk they're trying to sell now.
I love the power wagons. My ex’s father had a I believe a 72 that we use to drive all the time. Probably my favorite vehicle Ive ever drove

Coolest trucks. First gen are the best ones
I'm a toyota guy but man this is nice

The rack comment was outta pocket 😂
These are so badass
Couldn't help but notice that that truck goes faster here in Canada; there it only goes 120, but here it goes 200!
Ram should make rugged SUV options of the 1500 and 2500.
Nothing can fight a tornado 🌪️! Lol 😂
Power Wagons are the best! I’ve got a 2005 red regular cab PW and my dad has a 2010 blue crew cab PW.
5:42 Cupholders are shrinking, but yet it seems like cars are getting bigger 🤔
I can assure you that is not the same engine in a charger, I would imagine it has some different internals for heavy duty use.
I believe you are correct. I haven't heard that the truck 6.4L is being discontinued because HD trucks are in a different emissions class.
Just a different tune, the power wagon has 4:10 gearing

It is not the same engine. Heads are different, intake is different. Internals are different.
it rides hard because it is a work truck for towing and hauling
I would disagree on ride quality. its very stable and comfortable even going over memphis potholes. drives like your on a cloud

Do you know what the wheel and tire specs are?
What happen to the chapters???
I can't with that shifter big ol truck with a dial at least put a colm shifter
at least it's not a bmw style like in the gmc envoy
that step on the rear is going to kill the departure angle...just sayin'
me love my 2024 its asum
The rack comment 🏅
Destined for a Costco parking lot or construction site .

Who can pay $90k for a useless piece of junk in this hyperinflationary Obiden economy?
That would be all the guys driving them? Sounds like you cant though. :(
