Just picked up a 24 tradesman power wagon a month ago, 1000 miles on it. I’m loving it as a work truck / hunting fishing camping. Had it in a foot and a half of snow last weekend scouting for late season deer in the cascade foot hills. No problems no regrets
I like my deleted, tuned, upgraded turbo, upgraded CAI, Banks monster ram intake, Carli backcountry 2.5” leveling kit with track bar and sway bar upgrades to suspension, billet coolant bypass, full 20% ceramic tint all around, banks diff cover, banks oil pan to drain all the oil, amp powerstep xtreme, all on a ram 5th gen 2500 Laramie 6.7 Cummins. Absolute beast, did everything myself and it absolutely eats that’s all with the 6 foot standard bed. I also got a 4th gen long bed 3500 with a 2nd gen swap and that thing is on 22x12s with 37x13.50 wild peak r/t. No way I would take a gasser over a diesel, you delete that emissions junk and it’s not close. Crazy to recommend a gasser to someone unless it’s a raptor or trx never take gassers you sacrifice to much for a pick up truck
If I was in the market for a 2500 the Power Wagon would be at the top of my list. Would really look awesome with 35’s on it from the factory. Thanks for the video!
I have a 24 PW with Level 2. I’ve added Rough Country power step and 35” Toyos. I’ve been to the top of Lead Queen mountain in BC. It is a superior truck to many vehicles. It works extremely well. I get 20 mpg at best and about 14-16 regular driving. I love this truck and I’ve had many trucks over the years. My first new truck was an Adventurer SE in 1977. I’ve had Chevy Ford and Ram in diesel. This 6.4 gas engine is really good!
The cabin rear seat area is huge. I just spent three weeks camping in it. Removed the rear bench seat (Tradesman with PW package so no 60/40 split). Cut a plywood to shape to make flat floor and slept there. I am 6-foot. Had to push the passenger seat forward as much as possible and had to position myself diagonally but I could sleep in a sleeping bag pretty comfortably. In three months I already put 10,000 miles into the truck.
Love my Power Wagon and is a Beast offroad. If it fits, it will climb it. I have squeezed through some tight trails out in the Southeast. Just be prepared for pinstripes.
Power Wagon is a 1 percent vehicle for sure, and a very specific use case. Truth is it has all the goods of a 2500 that towes 17k. I have done 15k from Phoenix to Albuquerque. I tow that much off road as well. Springs do not limit it that much. So it can really do a lot of interesting things. Diesel hd are just clumsy off road. Lots of room for improvement, but planning to order a 2025 when order books open as my 2018 reaches 200k
Just picked up my 24 Rebel Power Wagon. Rebel makes it a diesel. I bought the diesel since I got 14k off msrp. Better resale. It’s a torque monster! I don’t haul or tow much. Gas mileage is so much better - trade off is diesel costs more. I’ve only put 1500 miles on it so far. DEF gauge has barely moved.
That lunar edition looks great! I looked and looked for one with ramboxes. Couldn’t find one two months ago when i bought the Olive Green 2024 power wagon. Love mine. But love that lunar grey.
Power wagons are legendary & always have been it's something you could buy & hold on to as an investment if you wanted to or you could buy it & drive the wheels off of it for a couple of decades so long as you do proper maintenance & take care of it ya can't say that about many gas powered trucks anymore
Forgot to mention the PW is perfect for the Big Boys out there. Im 6ft7" 275lbs and have lots of room . I have to form into a pretzel 🥨 in a Gladiator or similar
Articulink front radius arms let the front axle articulate more than others and the PW is the only vehicle that has them. For $300 you can change out rear springs and get the same payload as the regular 3/4 ton ram but it would ride stiffer. You would spend thousands on other trucks to make them as capable as the PW.
Try 9.5 mpg. I had a '21 Power Wagon for 3 yrs and averaged 9.5 mpg over that period. For anyone that wants to say I'm full of crap or claim they somehow get over 11mpg, I track my gas usage and have a spreadsheet going back 16 yrs. I'm a numbers nerd and the numbers don't lie.
I traded my 22 Power Wagon in on a 24 Gladiator Mojave X and couldn't be happier! Power Wagon was a big pig. Too big to off-road, too heavy to off road, too big to fit in parking garages, too big on city streets, just too big. And the Power Wagon even comes standard with the Hemi tick, lol.
@idontcutmccurysgrass my 2 favorite trucks. The gladiator and the power wagon. I'd be completely happy in either. I've offroaded a ram 2500 before so I know what it entails. I'd be OK with it.
My best riding truck. Compared to an F150 (Reg cab 8-foot bed), and a GMC 3500 Duramax (Crew cab 8-foot bed). The only time when it’s rough is on very specific occasions when on concrete highway and the joints are spaced such that front and rear wheels hitting them in unison. Happened maybe twice for a few miles in 10,000 miles driving so far.
Gladiator 1st choice. zr2 second, pw 3rd. But all choices for me would change based on available deals when its time to buy again. could very well be Pw 1st when im ready to buy.
Also diesel engines in most hd trucks are extremely heavy the power wagon has a 392 hemi which is not a small engine but diesel in hd's are heavier & off road ya don't want to be too nose heavy
@theWaltSmallwood yep when you add bigger tires half the diameter is above the axle half below the axle so if you go up 2 inches you go and tire size you gain 1 inch of clearance. If you go up one inch and tire size you gain half inch of height
I’m totally in the minority I know, but I’d like it more if it was two inches lower.. It’d still be tall, with lots of suspension travel, but less of a climb in..
Having recently traded in my 75th Anniversary Edition (2021) Power Wagon, I can say it's the baddest truck ever made. The only detractor from this truck are the stealership service departments. They are run by incompetent morons and staffed by techs that cause more problems than they fix on customer vehicles. I loved my Wagon more than anything but became fed up with the stealership experience. I took my truck to SEVEN different Ram dealers around Houston and couldn't find a single service dept that could do what was requested without breaking or damaging something on my truck. No joke. Ramcare is a joke as they closed my case without solving the issues because i was unwilling to leave my truck at a different dealer for over a month without a loaner or rental vehicle. Oh, and that month wasn't for them to actually repair anything. That was just to have it sit on their lot until they were ready to assess the vehicle. All of the Ram dealers here refused to schedule repairs and rather would keep your vehicles for weeks or months. My truck sat on different dealer lots for SEVEN MONTHS of the first 3 years I owned it. I finally traded it in as it was no longer worth the hassle for me.
actually I'm considering a Power Wagon due to my non satisfaction of my Silverado 1500. And of course there are only two available within 50 miles of my home and they are at a Berkshire Hathaway dealership. I'll pass.

agree the 33s really hurt the trucks sales. Put 35s on it and I bet It would sell many more. especially today where many are coming with 35s and 37s
Powerwagons a beast.

@stevenpeterson7234 power wagon is amazing. So is the titan. So is a happy wife😂
Great video! you hit all the right info on it. Dont tell anyone about it, best kept secret LOL. Had mine 4 years now and love it!

Great vid & excellent points..The 2500 really is a nice size for families that does a little bit of everything

perfect! and me being only 5'6 I could sleep on the rear seat just fine. Used to in my 2019 ram 2500 all the time on hunting trips.

I’d love to have a Power Wagon!

I been looking on cars com and you can pick one up at a great price and low miles. I might just buy one .

This is a 24 with the lunar edition package, not a 25. Don’t know why it has Goodrich tires on it 🤷🏿♂️

its been my dream truck since I was a boy in high school. im just worried it gets discontinued or altered beyond recognition
Awesome truck & not made for anyone that cares about MPG but probably 12-15 mpg. Tough, sharp looking truck though.

Would be nice if they had a way to tuck the mirrors in more? Maybe they do
@@eddygoodwin7089 yep mirror are great for towing but rough in the woods

I would say its the best offroad hd truck. So, master of 1.
The only thing I hear bad is that on a full tank it only
Goes like 300 miles. I’ve heard it’s not very good at all.
True mpgs are rough. But people buying it are not thinking about mpgs. This truck is a tool and does amazing at its job
