That mounting plate is designed to be mounted underneath, just behind the front tires. With plow mounted out so far in front you may have issues with bending or breaking the pushtubes if you every have any side pressure on blade. Not sure where you guys moved to, but enjoy the mountain snow. I'm from North Idaho and have had more than my share of plowing snow with atv's, utv's, and all sorts of equipment.
Yes, that looks more like a 4 wheeler blade and attachment . The plate would go in the middle, which brings the blade back to within a foot or so from the grill and gives you an almost straight lift on the blade.
I'm in an area where cold and rain is the worst I get 😅 hope you only get enough to enjoy it, 😂 thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Hi! Jamie here! I am not sure what is going on with the dang auto subbing...but I am going to watch live with all of you to make sure its ok and answer some questions you might have about things
Pretty sure you're not going to like having the blade that far in front in the SXS. The frame of the blade needs to be tucked under the machine with the blade itself just far enough forward to clear the front bumper when lifted by the winch. Do a little Internet searching of SXS snowplows for reference. After redoing the mounting system, need to roll form some blade wing extensions next...
Nice job Ian. Great purchase. I have to agree with stealth, he points out that you will need some extensions on your blade. He would like your blade to be at least a little wider than your width on your front tires. Right now your tires are wider and will be less effective unless they are behind the cleared area behind the blade
I’m really sorry about that. Autodubbing gas been added to our channel but it does what it wants… I think I have it figured out and that’s why I premiered it so that I wasn’t wasting everyone’s time
The plate is supposed to be mounted underneath farther back. And your Definitely gonna want to make it wider to cover the width of the tires. I live in michigan and have a lot of experience with snow plows.
East Coast Utility vehicles are used most everywhere And the Mid West ones rarely see the Sun in the winter time of year But I wish they made some just for California's hills... Thanks Beach Boys - AND - the CJ DJ with the FAB Man.
Nice simple straight forward mod, good job ol boy. I would also consider adding a set of adjustable skid leveling plates to the back edge of the plow blade, it'll keep you from over gouging in gravel and frozen ground and keep you from endo jackknifing by driving over the plow blade.
it would be cool to put a old school mini cooper body on a side by side. make a mini monster truck.. I seen a rusted mini copper body on CL for 900.00 a bit ago.
We live in Tehachapi and lived on a 8 acre farm. Our John Deer Gator was the best purchase ever made!! Seeing you do this addition to your JLG is a fantastic idea! You will not be disappointed!!😊
Here in New Jersey, we had our first snow of the season last night. Up in the northwest part of the state, near southern New York and eastern Pennsylvania along the Delaware River, they had between 4 and 8 inches. Where I am, closer to the Atlantic, it just got colder and rained, although we could have a mix later on.
That mounting plate should be mounted underneath on the frame behind the front tires. The winch cable angle should be straight up and down over the plow, not extended out to a 45 degree angle. Need a wider blade too.
Boy, talk about a change of pace! Nice little quick project!👍 And, you are correct! Got 8 inches of snow here Thursday night! Lost power for about 6 hours! It's only just begun!🥶 Take care!🙏❤️
Nice! I liked the big military truck that you turned into a "mobile home on wheels". Maybe you can collaborate with your wife to make the interior on similar projects?
Maybe you'll have to beef up those pivot mounting points [depending on how much snow you're trying to push, obviously.] We know you can handle any necessary modifications; that's why we watch.
I'm very familiar with this. My neighbors all use that winch/plow blade setup. You'll be happy with it. Edit: the arms should be shorter and an X brace between the parallel arms to prevent twisting.
Happy birthday Ian many great suggestions on the mounting, we never see to much snow in the sunshine state of Queensland but always what you do is interesting.
The latest videos seem to have less Jamie. We love the social chemistry between you both. It might be Ian doing the physical work, but it truly is a team show.
Mount plate goes underneath the frame, u about to bend your push tube's. Push tube's need go be as horizontal as came be to ground. Your giona bend your push tube's
Might want to either shorten those plow tubes or add cross bracing to keep the plow from forming a parallelogram when you hit a rock or chunk of ice on one side. It does look really 'light duty'...
Hey Ian & Jamie !! Better get a sheet of poly for a windshield as you will need it !!! HAHA Looking at the blade .. looks like you need 6ins. on each side to be outside the front tires !!! Enjoy the snow as watching ""TWC"" in CA. !!!👍👍👍👍👍
Hey Ian Happy Birthday brother. My wife and i watch all your videos and i love the way you think, unfortunately you lived in the Mohave where you don't need plows. We live in the Laurentian mountains of Quebec, Canada ,i have pushed snow almost 20 years with all types of machines and i Pray that for your safety you will reconsider your design. Trust me on this one. Please.
When we lived in VICTORVILLE. It would be clear and crisp when I left for work at 5am and by 8 it had started and accumulated 4-6 inches of snow. All melted by early afternoon. Been to your area. Looking from Mohave up Highway to 58 to Tehacapie is cool. Been there when there was a cold day in Mohave and snow at Tahacapie
Happy birthday Ian, coming from the mountains in Idaho it seems funny for a snow plow in the desert. Hope you get to teach him a thing or two about snow plowing Jamie. Love, love, love all the content. 🎶🎈🎊🎂🍹🍻
Great video as always. You’re going to want to widen that blade to at least as wide as the outside of the tires and shorten the reach of the blade considerably
Midwesterner here. C'mon! You get to ride while ridding yourself of the snow? Of course we're impressed, jealous even. Here, though, they will fix a 2 stage thrower and auger on that kind of cart to get the snow up and out of the way. It's the volume.

Yeah, I had to skip this video…
California shouldn't be much snow to worry about. 😉✌
I came here to suggest almost the same thing 👍🏻

Hi! Jamie here! I am not sure what is going on with the dang auto subbing...but I am going to watch live with all of you to make sure its ok and answer some questions you might have about things
Ian, is there anything you don't know about metalworking?
Now I can select English something was fixed!
I have my TV at 100% volume. Having a very hard time hearing Ian. Can I see his microphone is right below his Adam apple.
Why didn't you set it up to go side to side?
No worries. Lol are you and Ian expecting some snow?
Happy Birthday Ian. You might find a need to extend the width of the plow blade as it looks narrower than the track of the wheels

I'm glad that you fixed the video Jamie. I kept trying to find a way to have my computer play the video in English, and finally gave up.
I’m really sorry about that. Autodubbing gas been added to our channel but it does what it wants… I think I have it figured out and that’s why I premiered it so that I wasn’t wasting everyone’s time
The mounting plate is supposed to be mounted to the under side of the chassis
Happy Birthday Big Guy ! 54 ? Wish I was 70 again! LOL
Happy birthday Ian.
Love your videos, but the plow mount needs to attach under the machine so it will put the plow blade closer to the front of machine.😮
Glad to at least see you finish something!!!!!
Just want to say hi to you all and Ian you will figure it out have a blessed evening and night and God bless
The plate is supposed to be mounted underneath farther back. And your Definitely gonna want to make it wider to cover the width of the tires. I live in michigan and have a lot of experience with snow plows.
Another fine job at the Roussel office. Thanks for sharing. You both Rock.
I got nuthin. Don't know too much about snow. Had my share in Germany years ago. Texas doesn't get much. However, I do like your new used rig.👍
ian im from canada you need the plow to be atleast as wide as the side by side
54 is a real good start! Have a good one, y'all.
East Coast Utility vehicles are used most everywhere

We've got a great one, it's going to be a blast this winter!

Awesome!! Sure beats the hell out of a snow shovel!! …. Good stuff!!

Thankfully, we don't have snow here in Brazil, but i swear that i heard that car saying... bigger wheels, bigger wheels😂😂😂😂😂
We did too. LOL
Thanks! I am glad to see your still at it. And waiting to see what is next.
Thanks! We're going to have some fun in the snow this winter!
I'm very familiar with this. My neighbors all use that winch/plow blade setup. You'll be happy with it. Edit: the arms should be shorter and an X brace between the parallel arms to prevent twisting.
Happy bday fella , definitely a person of character and integrity.
Happy Aloha Friday have a blessed day🤙🏾

Happy Birthday Ian!!
Happy birthday Ian 👍👍
The latest videos seem to have less Jamie. We love the social chemistry between you both. It might be Ian doing the physical work, but it truly is a team show.
Ian and Jamie. That mounting plate belongs under the vehicle in a horizontal position. Not on the front in a vertical position.
Happy birthday Ian from us in Oz.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY IAN🎂🍻
Happy belated birthday, Ian!! You young whipper-snapper ... I turned 64 on the 4th. 😊 ... Scorpios rule!!
Happy-Happy Buddy 🎉
Who says Ian doesn't finish projects !!! lol Good job !!! The shop inspectors should love riding on it !
We’re getting ready to plow some snow!
Great work.
Happy Birthday Ian
Like it excellent guys cheers 🥂 ❤😊😊
A car hood and a couch cushion makes a great sled since you mentioned sled
Happy late birth day. What is going to bend first, the legs on the plow, the mounting plate or the brush guard. As always fun to watch
Nice set up!😊
Sweet!!!
Looks great 👍👍

Happy Birthday Professor Ian! I love your videos and am a long time fan. 🎂🎊🚗🤴🏻

It looks like fun, but the big Tractor is crying now back at the Ranch.
Happy Birthday Ian! Have a few cold ones!
Hope you can try out your snow plow soon
Need extensions on the sides of the plow so you clear a path for your tires.
Sounds great in Connecticut!! Love watching you folks!!
We appreciate that! And yes, we're getting ready for winter here in the mountains!
Happy Birthday 🎂
Happy birthday 🎉
A very merry unbirthday today to us all.

Really slick set up!
You guys moved to where it snows? AWESOME

It is definitely a different kind of snow removal and we enjoy being able to use our creativity with our builds.
Google images have some cool pics of old Jeeps plowing snow, lots of CJ2A's..
Awesome live, thank you!😁
Thank you!!!!!
