Just realize that whenever those words are uttered "Several cutscenes will play at once," no one is prepared for what comes next. This cutscene taught me that lesson very well.
While the phrase "Thal's Balls" is readily spoken in many circumstances, there exist two more dire curses in Eorzean, "Several Cutscenes" and "Meanwile." :D
From Heavensward, things just escalate in writing getting better and better and better with Shadowbringers and Endgame being truly peak. If you haven't, I highly recommend you find a group to undersize and complete the Binding Coils of Bahamut. There are some additions to cut scenes in Heavensward and later if you've completed them. For that matter, I'd encourage you to complete all the 8 man and 24 man raids from every expansion as you never know when a little plot threads ties into the main storyline! Honestly, once you get further, Realm Reborn will feel like it was just a prologue and Heavensward begins the true Final Fantasy experience traveling with party members, knowing your allies better, seeing more character growth and personal character arcs. And I say that as someone who truly enjoys A Realm Reborn. I've played through it about 6 times on alts just to get them high enough to get a Free Company private room after I got a design idea in my head and wanted to create it.
I agree, it's getting really good! Luckily my twitch community has several people who help me join & run content, we ran Binding Coils of Bahamut right after this before I got started in Heavensward. I appreciate the suggestions ☺️
Just saved the realm and destroyed the ultima weapon, and some still thought the scions were somehow playing the long game. What a fun way to kickstart Heavensward.
Welcome to FF14! Also, if you're willing to take a suggestion.... When you see the 'several scenes play in sequence etc' warning, if available you might want to switch to emote only mode in chat. I'm a sprout on Xbox and just recently got past this. Currently in the MSQ level 53 quests in Heavensward right now (not saying what I'm doing for spoiler reasons) and I have to say, I had the same idea "I'm ready!" going in, and like you, was not ready.

Also, if you want another reason to hate Ilberd, back in some of the quests with the Garlean spy known as The Ivy, when they catch her, Ilberd says - in a non-voiced bit of text - "I would sooner cut off my own arm than betray a friend." So, now you know true pain. Welcome to Final Fantasy XIV! ^_^

@elaine_of_shalott6587 yeah, I don't like to take away from the VAs themselves, it was an unfortunate byproduct of ARRs larger issues with direction and quality. It also doesn't help that the new cast has some very, very skilled VAs alongside the better direction and quality so the comparison can feel pretty jarring overall

Do you expect the people to embrace the newly proposed one over night? Of course not. But this will all be explained at a later date.

It's not the VA's fault, but actually having voice direction makes such a difference!
