I did ArriveCan Advanced CBSA Declaration in internet by web browser , so when I arrive Canada Toronto , I also have to scan my travel document in airport kiosk or special boost and feel again all information to get a kiosk receipt ?.It doesnt make any sense .This actually make a lot of time to do
That’s an interesting point. You do need to scan the passport at arrival, so that the system identifies you. But the fact that you need to input information once again - I guess that’s something they are still working on. Thanks for pointing it out, we will try it out next time we travel to see if the same issue is still there
This mindless bureaucracy is discouraging people from wanting to travel and will severely reduce tourism, leading to more economic woes particularly in border communities. Hopefully voters will keep this in mind when they head to the polls in elections on both sides of the border.
It's Dec 2023. I've just returned from Dominican Republic to Canada. I did registered and filled out all the information on my arriveCan application. When I arrived at Toronto international, there is no option for using this app. I had to go through the regular kiosk, passport, scanning procedure, etc. Seems like pretty useless arriveCan app to me.
Interesting. Thank you for sharing your experience! This app has mostly been used for COVID travel restriction times. Currently it is supposed to help with declaration submission on the border, but it looks like it depends on the airport’s systems🤷🏼 You can report this issue to Canadian Border Services - it might help in the future
You’re welcome! For your information, ArriveCAN is not mandatory anymore. You can still choose to submit it - it will help you save time at the arrival. When are you planning to visit Canada?
3:36 It’s possible to take a picture of my passport with my cellphone without using a scanner machine, right? We basically take a picture of our passport according to the picture on the cellphone screen while using that apps?
Hi Daniel. Yes, if you fill out ArriveCAN through the phone app, the first time you do it, you will be offered to scan your passport (same as shown in our video on 3:36). The system will then auto fill all passport details from that picture. For every next time you need to fill out ArriveCAN, the passport info will already be there
Hello! I have a question, in the travel information section, it is asked there the airline and the flight number: 1.For the airline, our travel path will be Muscat-Frankfurt-Montreal. We booked overall our flight via Lufthansa but from Muscat to Frankfurt it is operated by Oman air then from Frankfurt to Montreal YUL, it is operated by air Canada, so which among these 3 airlines I will put(luftansa/Oman air/air canada)? 2. Which flight number will I also put, the one from Muscat to Frankfurt or from Frankfurt to Montreal, because it's different from each other?
Hi Margo, starting October 1st 2022, ArriveCAN is no longer mandatory. If you still choose to fill it out, it will save you time at the border upon arrival to Canada. To answer you questions, 1. Since you’ve booked through Lufthansa, that will be your airline 2. Flight number will be the one that first brings you to Canada, so Frankfurt to Montreal
@@natashtepa Thank you so much for your fast response!!! Our flight is in 2 days so I'm planning to fill out the Arrivecan right now and I feel more assured👍
WOW!!! Awesome video. Question: I open the app and it says at the top of the screen: Help Save time at the kiosk/EGate by submitting your declaration in Advance. Further down it says: Start your Advance CBSA Declaration (optional). I will be driving into Canada from Niagara Falls so where does it say on the app where I'll be DRIVING into Canada??? If I hit the START button it says "Advance CBSA Declaration privacy statement. If I hit "I consent" it says Please wait while we get your advance CBSA Declaration ready. When I hot Continue it says Select your airport. But I will be driving into Canada. Not taking a plane. Please help! Thanks
Hi Scott, since ArriveCAN application is no longer mandatory, they have changed it a bit since we’ve posted this video. It is now used only for customs declaration in cases when you do need to declare something when crossing the border. If you would usually go through green corridor, than it shouldn’t apply. On the other hand, if you want to use it for declaration submission, at this point they only let you do it for select airports. Not for ground crossing unfortunately. Do you plan do declare something when you enter Canada or you are checking this option just in case?
@@natashtepa WOW!!!! Thanks Nate!!!! Your a life saver. We're so glad they no longer use ArrivCan when driving into Canada from USA. Hi, Thank you for your help. I have a question I'm traveling to Montreal at the end of this month I have to layover stop in Toronto but my destination is Montreal. But I'm wondering the ArriveCAN should I write Toronto or Montreal? Plus should I have to do another covid test if I'm vaccinated? Which day I should fill out the ArriveCAN if is it the day I'm traveling? Please 🙏
Hi there. If Toronto is just a layover - meaning you don’t leave clear zone in the airport - your final destination should be Montreal. There’s no covid tests required, you just need to be fully vaccinated. The app is filled out within 3 days of your departure and before you board your flight. For example, if you are leaving on August 30th, you can fill it out starting August 27th

Hi Nata my flight from Ho Chi Minh airport Vietnam to Whitehorse yukon and got 2 stop at Narita Tokyo and Vancouver airport so what my departure country ? And arrival destination? And also my last destination flight is Whitehorse airport do I need to do declaration and get custom check vancouver airport ? Or I get it check in Whitehorse airport ? Please let me know thank you !
Hi Jenny. You need to specify the flight that first takes you to Canada. In your case it will be Tokyo-Vancouver. When they ask you what country you are flying from and where you’ve been staying for the previous 14 day, you need to say Vietnam. As for the customs, it all depends on how you booked your flight. If you are not leaving a clear zone in Vancouver and are just in transit, that means you don’t have to go through customs there
Hi Joanne. There's a list of items that is mandatory for declaration. Personal clothes doesn't require to be declared. If you want to know more, check out paragraph Customs declaration card here: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/new-immigrants/prepare-life-canada/border-entry.html
Hey, I was wondering which arrival airport to put into ArriveCAN since my family and I are flying to Toronto as our final destination but will be laying over at Montreal for around 2 hours? It only gives me the option to select 1 airport and 1 flight number
Hi there! The arrival airport is the one through which you first enter Canada. Most likely, you will have to go through border security when you land and before you can board your next flight. How does your itinerary look llike?
Hey, I need your help. I am travelling from Pakistan to Calgary through transit flight. My arrival time is 14:55 pm. I am filling it right now but I can't be able to select correct arrival time its not . I think I am 6 hours late filling the form what should I do ?
Hi Syed. Try to start the application again. You should be able to submit it even 10 minutes before arrival. Usually it is required to have it filled out before boarding your flight, but sometimes you can do it right after you land and before you go through customs. If you still can’t submit it, you might have delays during your entry and might not be eligible for fully vaccinated exemptions.
Hi Questions, is there a quarantine even fully vaccinated? . or traveling canada is there a need of negative rt pcr test ? I expect to flight this month a Filipino from Riyadh Saudi Arabia going to Calgary alberta. connecting flight. Thank you .

Hi! Actually we will be traveling to Canada this Nov 2022 and will be entering via Montreal Airport so basically we are aware that we should do this arrivecan and CBSA declaration? But after one week will be traveling to halifax and entering via halifax steinfied airport, so my question is do I need to do another arrivecan and CBSA declaration since it is another airport? Do I have to delete first my previous arrivecan and cbsa to do another one? Little confused about this, kindly help
Hi Margo. As of October 1st, 2022 ArriveCAN is no longer mandatory. You are not required to submit it. If you do have items that are required to be declared, you can submit a declaration through ArriveCAN for convenience, or fill out right on the border. Regarding different airports, if after Montreal you are leaving Canada and flying to Halifax from another country, you’ll need to submit your declaration again. But you have an internal flight from Montreal to Halifax - no need for that.
hi, i have a question. My flight to canada in on June 6. It doesn't let me put flight info...do i have to wait to fill the arrivecan form out until 3 days before the flight? I mean, in my case, I can fill it out only from June 3rd. Is this correct?
Hi there. The app is limiting you to 3 days in advance. But you can pre fill it and input all the information other than you flight date (just do a placeholder for now) and save it as a draft. And once you’re in that 72 hours window, you can finish your application with actual flight details and everything else will already be saved in the app.

You can choose “discretionary travel”, since CUAET gives a temporary visitor visa. When you arrive, you will be invited by the officers to have some paper work done related to CUAET, like work permit. My relatives did that recently and it took them couple of hours - so be prepared for that

Which flight should I put in the app for when it first asks for the flight information. My second question is that I am traveling to Canada to see my family and tour the country. Should I put my reason of flying as tourism or family? Thank you!
Hi Greg, to the best of our knowledge, you should specify the flight that first brings you to Canada. So in your case that would be San Francisco to Calgary. As for the reason for travelling, Family reunion is more for the cases that you are planning to stay in Canada based on family rejoining application. That implies you having a certain list of documents like proof of relation etc. in your case it would make sense to put Discretionary/Optional travel as your reason

Hi there. Technically, you are required to provide Dose 1 and Dose 2 confirmations only. Boosters are not mandatory at this moment. In terms of app’s capabilities, yes, it will allow you to replace the documents that you’ve uploaded previously
In the app you are required to upload both receipts or one vaccination passport confirming both doses. If you don’t have the paperwork, most likely you will spend a bit more time on the border answering their questions.

Hi Kathrine, to the best of our knowledge, country of origin would be Qatar. And the flight should be the one where you first land in Canada, so Munich-Montreal.
It would be great if you could do up a video showing the steps if arriving by land? Many Canadians drive to the USA and return through a land crossing. If you are able to do up a video that shows the steps if arriving by land, it'll get some views. :) Thanks for this video ! It was helpful!

Hey, I have a question. I am planning to visit Toronto by 10th June this year. Is there a mandatory condition of RTPCR test needs to be carried out now a days before 72 hours of actual travel?

Hi Francisco, if you are not leaving the clear zone of the airport in Toronto, then you don’t need to fill out ArriveCAN nor you need a visa - you are a transit passenger and are not entering Canadian territory. And to answer your second question, if you’re entering Canada for tourist purposes, as a US citizen you don’t need to have a visa to Canada
Hi there. Depends on a lot of factors: are you a resident in Canada or a foreign national, what’s you vaccination status etc. The short answer is: if you are a fully vaccinated Canadian, you don’t need a covid test to board the plane to Canada. We cover more information about this on 03:40

What is your itinerary? Meaning, are you flying from some country other than Canada to US, and you are only doing a stop over in Calgary? Hi tha_ravana, rules are changing very quickly these days and we already recommend to check official sources for an up to date information. At the time of this publication, if you don’t have residency in Canada and are vaccinated by one of the NOT approved vaccines in Canada, like Sputnik, you are, unfortunately, not allowed to enter Canada.

Hi Janet. Yes, you can fill out your application in advance and save it as a draft.
As for entry test, currently fully vaccinated travellers are exempted from mandatory pre arrival testing, so you should be good.
