I have the Beats Studio Buds +, I think they do everything really well especially as they are cheaper than the XM5s. I think they look the best too and are good value. Well worth the upgrade from the original Studio Buds.
If you're wearing glasses like me, get ear buds. Sony or Beats buds do a better job than overhead headphones as they are snuggy. Sounds seeps through the openings created by glasses so you won't get a better ANC with headphones. I know from experience because I have both the WH 1000XM5s and the old Beats Studio Buds but I still prefer the old buds. Plus in extreme conditions (like loud bar music), the Sony headphones' ANC gets confused and it's like it doesn't know what to do while my snuggy old buds just easily cruise me through. I'm talking from experience.
this comparison isn't fair the XM5 plays in a other league of price and quality but the comparison between the beats and the link buds s makes much more sense
I have both pairs and I find the song wf1000xm5 to sound much better overall. The noice cancellation is much better and over all just feel more premium. But the beats are very good for the price they sound decent and have a very good microphone. Just gonna mention that the sonywf1000xm5 do have active ambient mode now and do their best to block out sounds over 80 decibels whilst in ambient mode. Both good pairs but I feel that the Sonys are well worth the extra money.
