he work on under construction Margalla Avenue is progressing at full pace and the project would be ready for opening before 31st of December.
The construction work on Phase I of Margalla Road (from GT Road to D-12) is near completion as over 75pc work has already been completed.
Earlier, the contractor, Frontier Work Organization (FWO), was facing an issue in the area due to the graveyard but now it has also been resolved. The CDA board in June approved shifting of the road towards the southern side and C-13 and D-12 to preserve the graveyard

سی ڈی اے سنگجھانی جی ٹی روڈ سے ای-11 چوک مارگلہ رود)(خیابان اقبال ) تک مارگلہ ایونیو دو فیزز میں بنانے جا رہا ھے. پہلا فیز جی ٹی روڈ سے سیکٹر ڈی-12 تک کا ھے. اس جو کہ تقریباً مکمل ھے. دوسرا فیز سیکٹر ڈی-12 سے ای-١١ چوک مارگلہ روڈ تک ھے. جس پر کا ھو رھا ھے. جس کی تکمیل کی مدت چھ ماہ ھے. سی ڈی اے نے سیکٹر ڈی-12 کے رہائشیوں سے وعدہ کیا تھا کہ فیز 2 کی تکمیل تک مارگلہ ایونیو کو ٹریفک کے لئے نہیں کھولا جائے گا. لیکن سی ڈی اے سیاسی دباؤ کی وجہ سے فیز-1 کو ٹریفک کے لیے کھولنے کی تیاری کر رھا ھے. اس سلسلہ میں مارگلہ ایونیو کو *سیکٹر ڈی-12 کی سروس روڈ نارتھ سے لنک کیا جا رہا ہے. جس کی وجہ سے جی ٹی روڈ کی ساری ٹریفک مارگلہ ایونیو سے سیکٹر ڈی-12 کے اندر سے گزرتی ھوی مارگلہ روڈ پر جاے گی*. سی ڈی اے کے مطابق مارگلہ ایونیو پر روزانہ پر 50 ہزار سے 60 ہزار گاڑیاں گزرے گی. اتنی تعداد میں جب گاڑیاں سیکٹر ڈی-12 کے اندر سے گزرے گی تو سیکٹر ڈی-12 اور سیکٹر ای-11 اور اس کے رہائشی بری طرح متاثر ھو گے. اور ان کی زندگی اجیرن ھو جائے گی.
ھمارا مطالبہ ھے کہ جب تک فیز 2 مکمل نہیں ھوتا مارگلہ ایونیو کو ٹریفک کے لئے نہ کھولا جائے. اس سلسلہ میں سیکٹر ڈی-12 کے رہائشی اپنی فیملی سمیت اتوار، 29 جنوری، 11 بجے دوپہر، سروس روڈ نارتھ اور میجر روڈ 3 کے جنکشن پر سی ڈی اے کے خلاف احتجاج کریں گے.
