Hallo Paul. I'm here since the drill a day series. I love the knife, but nowadays I really love the empty hands of Kali. Can we please get more empty hand kali videos. Thank u Paul regards Werner.
Last weekend I was at the gun range just practicing some shooting with my friend. I went home and started applying for a FOID card so I can go whenever I want by myself. I still don’t know if I want to own my own firearm but for fun I looked around and came across a commercial for the Beretta APX A1 Carry and it was about a woman leaving work late at night and she gets ambushed by two guys. The scene flashes back to her training in combat art, delivering a few empty hand strikes and then practicing drawing her gun. She draws her beretta on them and they run away. Right away I remembered one of your videos not too long ago where you address a comment from someone about why kali is not big in MMA and you say something like the kali empty hands are really good enough to allow you to get to a weapon. I think that Beretta commercial is a great example of that. Most of the time people won’t be ready for the first few attacks with a weapon ready in hand. Gotta know your empty hands so you can counter and get to a weapon, or counter, land a few hits, and run
Enjoyed the empty hand drills to incorporate in my Kali training. Please provide more vids on it n street fighting techniques. Kudos for this one. Looking forward to more. Peace.
Imo i wouldn't want to start with a hammer fist when doing drills since even the bas boxing guard can defend it wasily but as a distraction and a follow up i would gladly do it. Hammer fist is so underrated lol
A Queensberry rules minded boxer may think of it that way ( with the guard and such ) but a Kali man "may" be using the hammer fist to attack the attacks of his opponents. The Kali man doesn't want to block and absorb blows but rather attack, counter-attack re Counterattack, Riri counter-attack and destroy his opponents weapons, in this case the hands. This is just one application of a plethora that can be done with the hammer fist of course, but it's a good example of how different schools will create different thoughts. I appreciate your comment it makes me think more deeply about it as well.
Panantukan is a portmanteau of Sutunkan (in Cebu) and Pangamot (in Tagalog) made up by Dan Inosanto when he developed Inosanto System. So what you say is just a lie
Nothing I said was a lie. I stated these as the terms in how we use them here at Kali Center for reference. Can’t lie about how we use the words when that’s how we use them. I didn’t say these are the etymology of these words.
Empty hands yes more of those please.
Empty Hands is awesome

I wonder is there more hand to hand combat techniques in arnis
Question: is there any counters for kicks?
Yup!
How many movements of hand do hand part of arnis may I ask
I am in my empty hands cycles mixing panantukan and pangamut
Hello again. Where does the Panatuken originally come from. Who started it. For war right.

This is a basic drill. Not necessarily a tactical application.
There is a modern Filipino Martial Arts called Hybrid Yaw Yan which integrates the motion of stick strikes to Muay Thai and MMA.
Yes there is! 👍🏻
@@kalicenter have you seen them shadow boxing? It's a thing of beauty.
🙏
I should have stated earlier that as a boxer practitioner it's a bit weird for me to use these techniques. As to my previous statement. 😏👉👍😎
Wala kaba Ng book
Yeah Hey mom that kind of sketchy guy is training in the park across the street again. Can I go train with him?
