Tiger’s quote on the golf channel series regarding his equipment...”give me the spin and I’ll take it off when I need to”......in this regard more is more!
Anyone that hasn't experienced the joy of throwing one a few yards past the pin and ripping it back to the hole should try this ball. Ball is amazing both in feel and performance! Glad to see Bridgestone finally making the TXG debut and look forward to the reviews of their other lines!
I switched to the Tour B X midway through the season, can't say enough good things about them! Super consistent, hold up remarkably well in the wind and have good cover durability! Checks all the boxes for me! I think Matt should definitely try the Tour B X!
Ive grown so used to Matty hitting the green with his driver that I thought to myself "wow he must have really missed that one" then I looked down and saw the ball rolled out to 325...Ian finally moved the green out of Matty's range lol
More ball speed + extra spin = more stabilizing ball flight... no wonder tiger plays it... hopefully you guys do the other balls in the Bridgestone line up
These are exactly the numbers I expected to see. I converted to the B XS in April and it’s by far the best ball I’ve ever played ... definitely quick off the face and has serious stopping power I actually didn’t get as high of spin on the driver as Matt did
Well done gents, an excellent review. Tiger's doing us amateur's a huge favor here. Showing us a reasonably priced ball that does everything you need, and we are truly getting the same ball he uses when laying out the cash for dozen.
I’ve played this ball all year-very consistent performance and control and I have no thoughts of changing. Interestingly, I did find it felt softer than most others including Pro-V. Well done, as always Gents! Glad you did the review!
Glad I have this coming to test! I’m low spin all the way around. 1500-1800 on the driver and 4100 off the 7 iron. Thanks for doing this one and look forward to the other models! Great job as always!
I’m a notoriously low spin player. Bridgestone XS goes for miles for me, spin is great. Driver especially I see a jump from 1700 to 2100 or so. Great to see the data validated.
Great video! Bridgestone has a fitting tool and as a mid-handicap player I tend to get the Tour B RX. It would be great to see a mid-handicapper test the Tour B range.
I just came back to golf after a 16yr break a few months ago, having stopped in my teens. Went to the Tour B RX last week as a last minute Pro Shop pick-up, and promptly broke 100 for the first time with 2 balls lost. I've never played a ball with a compression rating in the 60's that had me not just hitting the ball on one putt lines, but dropping them like Javelin missiles on the pin. I lost very little drive forgiveness, but the loss was *maybe* a club away from the pin in deviation, which didn't matter much when I was hitting my 9 iron with more spin than I could get from my SW with a quality Surlyn ball. Definitely a choice ball for those improving to the point of needing more greenside without sacrificing drive forgiveness. I won't say it's better than a Pro V1 which I love to putt, but for those of us that aren't quite there yet, it's substantially better than anything I have played from that "C" company who boasts making balls for the average golfer. In addition, it's the only "soft" ball that I have found which sounds remotely like a Pro V1 when struck, especially when putting.
Another note: how much different are they than the R series? Does swing speed really make a difference? I bought a dozen at a club because they were out of the X and the Xs and only had the RXs. Went with it anyway and had a good round. Noticed the cover got chewed up just a tad after a few crisp & full wedges. Could that be bc I need the X?
Played the Tour B RXS for the first time on Sunday and broke 80 for the first time post lockdown. Great around the greens, plenty of spin enables confidence with chipping knowing it will stop and also soft off the putter face. 👍🏼
Thank you for a very good review. I've been playing the Tour B XS for 8 months now. It has become my favorite ball, slightly less durable that my previous favorite Pro V1x. I love how it compresses off the face (Softer side, but not spongy) yet it feels hot off the face. The feel off the short irons and wedges is extraordinary, and very consistent distance and trajectory control. I am very happy with the way it putts, somewhat soft and easy to control on the slippery downhillers. It is also very good in the wind. Fantastic product. I didn't like the Tour BX, too clicky and it didn't compress well for my swing. Hcp 0, driver swing speed about 105.
A huge fan of Bridgestone golf balls made the switch to the Tour B RX/RXS and have loved both. RXS gives me a lot more spin and control on my shots. I would love to give the Tiger ball a try! Looking forward to you guys testing the RX lineup as well!!!
For a guy that loves to talk about how much spin Balata balls had when he was growing up, this high spin Bridgestone seems right up Tiger’s alley. Thanks for the breakdown.
i just compared this against pro v1x yesterday and noticed with my wedges 58-54-50-46 i was getting on average 4 mph more ball speed with the bridgestone than the pro v1x. spin was basically the same. This was with the newest version of both balls as of sep 2020.
Big fan of the XS. I'm so shallow and low spinning that I find it really unlocks some consistent distances for me with irons and wedges, and keeps the driver up in the air.
I’ve been testing between this ball and the tour-bx. I like how it feels but the ball feels “heavy” when I hit it. Same sort of feel as the snell MTBx. I wonder if you sensed that. I’m a big fan of the Tour BX though but the BXS has awesome control and feel for short shots. I can really feel it grabbing the wedge. Great video gents glad you gave bridgestone some love it’s a really good ball and different that what’s in the market in my opinion.
Tried them for the first time 2 weeks ago loved them. Helped by having one of my best ever rounds 46 points plus a hole in 1. I hit a high ball and I did feel the flight was a little lower which was nice.
Interesting. I like TP5X and ProV1X for driver distance but I do hit very high iron shots. Like...too high I think. I haven't had a gapping session on a launch monitor so not sure how high or spinny but they seem really high. I play Mizuno MP18 MB...maybe it's the irons? IDK.
I completed a ball fitting earlier this season when I started the year at a four handicap. I got fit with the harder less spin version Bridgestone bx. I was surprised that I was fit into this ball with swing speeds close to matty. Last thing I thought I would get fit into would be a harder ball that goes further. I did not take into account that less spin meant it went straighter off the driver and irons as well. I never lose balls anymore since that change and I ended the year at close to scratch. Played tpc Scottsdale from the tips shooting even par with this ball as which I never thought I would ever do. Go see these guys to do a ball fitting as it will change your world.
The Tour B xs is the best feeling golf ball I've ever played, by alot. But for me it spins too much of the driver. I really hope you guys will review the Tour B X. I'd be so interested to see how it benchmarks against Pro-v1x and/or z-star XV. These three balls give me the best all-around performance and I have a hard time choosing between them (especially since I don't have acess to a launch monitor).
I just recently switched to this ball and I am typically a higher spinner of the ball with a driver. I haven't noticed a big different in distance but it seems to be more accurate. I absolutely love the spin and control around the green. I previously played the TP5X and the TP5 which I still love. The B XS just seems to have so much predictability around the greens.
This is my go to ball now. Love it, great spin that I struggle with, love the soft feel around the greens. I've tested all the bridgestone balls and to be honest the bx and bxs were the best for me. Even at my speed of 103mph.
I do have the de balls and it's spins way too much on my 3 wood , but my local golf shop doesn't know much about the Bridgestone b series , which one should i use ? I'm a 13 player with a 107 mph driver speed
I had my son play this ball for a while because of the spin helping it stay in the air. For any parent looking for a great ball for their junior golfer this is a fantastic option.
I use srixon Z Star and I'm very pleased with the performance , considering its 25% cheaper than pro v 1 . I've never considered Bridgestone , but am now intrigued. I'll be purchasing a sleeve at the first opportunity. ( Matt's performance whilst testing this ball was stunning ). Thanks again for your efforts.
I just bought some of the XBS and find the carry distance out of the rough is a full club longer than I am used to. The spin around the green is much less. It seems very hot off the wedges. I tried them side by side with Vice pro plus, Pro v1, Snell MTB red and Taylor Made TP5 and found all of these balls very consistent in spin and distance control from 2 yards and in, this was not the case with the BXS. It did not spin on low controlled spinners or react as other on pitch and runs. Have you done any testing in this area.
Tested epic Flash and sub zero drivers, don’t know about the strike location because we were using Trackman but how would you lower the spin from around 3200 rpm average w 110mph club head speed?
Another great video guys!! Can you please test the Maxfli Softfli with someone with an average swing speed? They never get reviewed and I think they are better than PV1s (at average speeds) and much cheaper.
Ian I would be interested in how you would fit a very competitive junior golfer. Specifically irons and balls. Hollow heads like P790, HMB, etc or more of P770, MMC, etc to try and progress to become better ball striker? What ball category would be better TP5, ProV1 or TP5x, ProV1x?
Hey I love y’all’s content. No BS or favoritism. I was wondering if y’all could test the difference between a game improvement iron, player’s distance iron, and driving iron of the same lofts. I’m thinking about upgrading from my current set of Callaway XRs after I’m done with my lessons, but i just cant really tell the difference between the three at the 3-5 iron range performance wise or forgiveness wise.
Thanks guys! Could you consider adding 65-75meters shot, when you test balls. It would be nice to know if there is any differences between balls with the shorter wedge shots.
I switched from Chromesoft to BXS this summer and found it went much further with the driver and stopped much better on the greens. Definitely worth anyone who needs to more spin or ballspeed to give it a go.
Any reason the wedge and iron shots were bouncing like 8ft in the air when they hit? lol Is that a new "concrete" setting on Foresight? By the way, I get the same results as you guys said... When I got fit for a ball at TXG last year, my wedge and driver had similar numbers between balls, but the irons had massive differences.
Great informative content as usual guys. Just curious. Will this ball work and have the same ball speed and spin qualities with players with slower swing speeds? Or is this ball specific to higher swing speed players?
One thing to note is that on the back of the box of the dozen Bridgestone recommends a driver clubhead speed of greater than 105 mph for the Tour B X/XS versions
With the strong rumour of a huge change coming to Bridgestone balls for next year (new cover material), there have been flash sales of all their top balls that pop up at 40% off - I was able to pick up Tour B X balls for $39 Canadian a few weeks back - actual both the Tour Bx and XS are on sale now for $44 at Golftown in Canada
I go to a golf show here in Pennsylvania every winter and buy out a vendors yrs end supply of Bridgestone (blue boxes) .. 20-25 a dz. This yr I'm buyin the entire lot haha
Is there any way to test performance in wind? I hear people say certain balls “perform great in the wind” but I don’t really understand why one would be better than another except maybe a lower spinning ball won’t get affected by wind as much.
I've been playing XS all year and love it. I'm 59 and losing club head speed but still think this is a better ball for me than Bridgestone's lower compression balls.
Great stuff. Matt was hitting beautiful shot. I do like Bridgestone golf balls, was gaming some last year and enjoyed it very much. I just prefer the srixon z-star xv.
Your prov1 vs prov1x test from Oct 7th 2019 showed the prov1x having more spin, most notably on the wedge shots. The 7 iron and driver were nearly identical. But considering the Pro v1X creates more spin, wouldn't that be a closer comparison to the B XS, than the V1???
I love the old Bridgestone E6. I find it flies straight and long and feels good to me. I never felt the newer E6 soft or E6 speed could match it. I've now bought a box of E12 soft having heard they are more like the old E6 but I'm yet to try them. I would love to see some balls in this price range tested and characteristics compared.
Have used these quite a bit, spin well but use the bx as more stable in the wind and spins enough for most courses/greens. But the bxs along with the mizuno definitely big spinners if that's what a player is after. They take me back to my precept days!
Nice test..good striking as always Matt.👍 Was interested to see how this test went numbers wise as I started using the XS early this past season.(not because of Tigers Masters win😊) Great ball. What your indoor test doesn't show is how good a wind ball it is. Big PV1 fan, but IMO the XS is the better wind ball. Could see Matty being an "X-Man".😊
can't wait to see further testing of bridgestone balls never realized how significant the price difference was! would love to save $10 every dozen on a golf ball that fits me
the cover on PROVs is too soft, sharp grooves will mess up your ball, not worth $5 per ball. Bridgestones are much more durable, last the entire round plus.
If you think Bridgestone make good golf balls, go and try their golf clubs. Simply superb, worth a review Ian / Matt.........so few people know about them
This is exactly what I found out on the course. Great spin but off the driver it seems a bit shorter. Approaches and around the greens this is as good as it can be.
If that story is true that Tiger went into the pro shop and just bought his Bridgestone balls off the shelf, then I'm just WOW! I tried the ball myself and I very much like it. I cannot really say it is performing any better form me than the Titleist Pro V1 or Srixon Z-Star but I am not the best golfer. However I do like that the (admittedly somewhat silly) Tiger stamping gives me that little bit of extra desire to hit a good shot.
Bridgestone Tour B XS was the first premium ball I've purchased, and it blew me away with its low trajectory and increased spin! Had a habit of ballooning shots, lower trajectory absolutely benefited me as well as the confidence around the green with that spin. Only issue is I can often lose half a dozen in a round, that doesn't come cheap! Ian & Matt, I would (somewhat selfishly) love to see some performance numbers on the bargain bin special Top Flite X-Outs. Those are still the go-to ball until I can keep less than 3 out of the trees and water. Hate how they roll for miles though. No other channel or website ever collected data on them. Thanks for the content, first comment after dozens of videos, truly the most informative channel out there!
Best balls on the market. I switched to them from Pro V1x last season. Haven’t tried the latest 2019 Pro V, but I moved to the Bridgestone because it was far superior in the wind than the Pro V. Found the TP5x was also better than the Pro V1x in the wind also, but the Bridgestone felt much softer than that, hence the decision was Bridgestone.
Love this ball. Play it and the tp5x. Taylormade has a more durable cover but the Bridgestone is more accurate in windy conditions. Both super balls and personally the Bridgestone edges out slightly.
Tried it as did my son who is a competitive junior golfer. Very good with irons and around the green, definitely floats off the driver and wasn't great in the wind. Could have been user error, and some people could very well benefit from the extra driver spin but it's not for everyone
Been thinking about trying some premium Bridgestone product. Have found i get better results with pro v1x, despite being a slow swing speed. Will definitely move Bridgestone to the top of my list...off to research which model seems the best fit. Anyone with experience with these balls at slower speeds, input would be welcome.
I keep switching between BX and BXS. On the BX right now (better off the driver for me but feels harder). Both are the best balls in the wind I have played. Only ones I game now...
Love this channel now, 100% no bs, no filler content, just full of useful info
Tiger’s quote on the golf channel series regarding his equipment...”give me the spin and I’ll take it off when I need to”......in this regard more is more!
Anyone that hasn't experienced the joy of throwing one a few yards past the pin and ripping it back to the hole should try this ball. Ball is amazing both in feel and performance! Glad to see Bridgestone finally making the TXG debut and look forward to the reviews of their other lines!
Ross,
Are you actually playing this ball?
I switched to the Tour B X midway through the season, can't say enough good things about them! Super consistent, hold up remarkably well in the wind and have good cover durability! Checks all the boxes for me! I think Matt should definitely try the Tour B X!
I like before I watch because I've liked 100%.
Ive grown so used to Matty hitting the green with his driver that I thought to myself "wow he must have really missed that one" then I looked down and saw the ball rolled out to 325...Ian finally moved the green out of Matty's range lol
I love that you have now introduced another variable into your fitting sessions. All class gentlemen 🏌🏻♂️
More ball speed + extra spin = more stabilizing ball flight... no wonder tiger plays it... hopefully you guys do the other balls in the Bridgestone line up
These are exactly the numbers I expected to see. I converted to the B XS in April and it’s by far the best ball I’ve ever played ... definitely quick off the face and has serious stopping power
I actually didn’t get as high of spin on the driver as Matt did
Well done gents, an excellent review. Tiger's doing us amateur's a huge favor here. Showing us a reasonably priced ball that does everything you need, and we are truly getting the same ball he uses when laying out the cash for dozen.
I did some ball testing in the spring and ended up with the Tour B RX, best golf ball I've ever used. Absolutely love it.
I’ve played this ball all year-very consistent performance and control and I have no thoughts of changing.
Interestingly, I did find it felt softer than most others including Pro-V.
Well done, as always Gents!
Glad you did the review!
It sounded very soft off the driver. They didn't show any of the ProV1 I don't think so I had nothing to compare it to.
Glad I have this coming to test! I’m low spin all the way around. 1500-1800 on the driver and 4100 off the 7 iron. Thanks for doing this one and look forward to the other models! Great job as always!
Judging from the views and comments, there is a lot of interest in this one! Thanks for testing Bridgestone
I really believed it was Ian talking thru the ball with Tiger when I had my eyes shut for a while. Got sooo excited XD. Great vid as always!
I'd like to see Matt try the RXS and Ronny try the reverse to see how an incorrect ball fitting affects the outcome.
I was disappointed in that Matt's first three balls missed the cup. :) Always fun to watch guys! Informative as always.
I have been playing them for couple of months now and like it. I SPIN IT LOW WITH ALL MY CLUBS AND THIS BALL HAS HELPPED GET IT UP .

Side by side comparison of the tour B X! Bring it on!
Yes please.
Hopefully some of Tiger's 64 I can replicate for this weekend tournament.
I have been playing this ball for the last two years... and as a guy that struggles with high spin on my driver... perhaps its time to change balls?
Yup could be
TXG Tour Experience Golf If you have ball recommendations to try that would be awesome... Swing speed is typically around 110 with a driver
Prov1, Srixon Z-star XV, Taylormade TP5x
Played the Tour B RXS for the first time on Sunday and broke 80 for the first time post lockdown. Great around the greens, plenty of spin enables confidence with chipping knowing it will stop and also soft off the putter face. 👍🏼
Thank you for a very good review.
I've been playing the Tour B XS for 8 months now. It has become my favorite ball, slightly less durable that my previous favorite Pro V1x. Purchased a box 6 weeks ago. Not looked back. Love them.
Matt’s dispersion over distance is ridiculous! Love your content guys
Curious how the Bridgestone low spin tests out. Another quality vid from the TXG guys!
Big fan of the XS.
I'm so shallow and low spinning that I find it really unlocks some consistent distances for me with irons and wedges, and keeps the driver up in the air.
Could you get your hands on and review some of the old Nike One Platinum golf ball?
Nice review!! I really believe the the entire Bridgestone ball line up is strong from top to bottom. Just about finding the ball that fits.
IDK.
I would love to see Matt testing one of the "distance" balls if only for a good giggle - how far can Ian push that green back!
I absolutely love this ball... Just stunned by my iron performance with them, they just feel different. I was a TP5 guy before that...
I completed a ball fitting earlier this season when I started the year at a four handicap. I got fit with the harder less spin version Bridgestone bx. Would love to see a table with the numbers of all the balls you’ve tested. So I could say go compare the B-RXS to Chrome Soft X etc
Second this - please publish a comparison table
Talked me into trying these next time! Great vid. guys!!
Would it be beneficial to use a ball like this and possibly go down in loft for the driver, with the increase in spin?
The Tour B xs is the best feeling golf ball I've ever played, by alot. But for me it spins too much of the driver.
I really hope you guys will review the Tour B X. I'd be so interested to see how it benchmarks against Pro-v1x and/or z-star XV. These three balls give me the best all-around performance and I have a hard time choosing between them (especially since I don't have acess to a launch monitor).
I just recently switched to this ball and I am typically a higher spinner of the ball with a driver. I haven't noticed a big different in distance but it seems to be more accurate. This is my go to ball now. Love it, great spin that I struggle with, love the soft feel around the greens. I've tested all the bridgestone balls and to be honest the bx and bxs were the best for me. Even at my speed of 103mph.
Such a good ball. I'm currently playing the Mizuno RB Tour X, but it was a tough decision.
I do have the de balls and it's spins way too much on my 3 wood , but my local golf shop doesn't know much about the Bridgestone b series , which one should i use ? I'm a 13 player with a 107 mph driver speed
So how are you feeling Ian? Saw you had some health issues. I really hope youre well. Love the stuff youre doing for golf!!
Mange Larsson I’m starting to feel better Mange, thank you for asking!! 👍🏻
@@ianfrasergolf Good to hear pro!! We need you and your channel!!
This is one my favorite videos you've done. It would be cool to see you hit this ball with the p7TW irons.
This ball gives me so much wedge confidence, it’s criminal, lol 😂
I had my son play this ball for a while because of the spin helping it stay in the air. For any parent looking for a great ball for their junior golfer this is a fantastic option.
Good review on the Tiger ball. Matt you were pounding the Driver and great spin off the wedges.

Yes we have Andrew but our results are literally the complete opposite of yours. We find it to be one of the higher spinning golf balls on the market.
What ball category would be better TP5, ProV1 or TP5x, ProV1x?
ages 12-14, driver swingspeed 80-95

Thanks guys! Could you consider adding 65-75meters shot, when you test balls. It would be nice to know if there is any differences between balls with the shorter wedge shots.
I switched from Chromesoft to BXS this summer and found it went much further with the driver and stopped much better on the greens. Definitely worth anyone who needs to more spin or ballspeed to give it a go.
Play this ball. Tremendous results from iron and wedge play. Best underrated ball.

Had the greens on super firm for the Tiger ball!
Great informative content as usual guys. Just curious. Will this ball work and have the same ball speed and spin qualities with players with slower swing speeds? Or is this ball specific to higher swing speed players?
We're going to test that, but likely would translate to slower swings as well

Those greens were bouncing higher than they usually do! Were they set on the new GCquad trampoline setting?
tour green settings for a tour ball! 😆
How does this ball compare / differ from the new 2020 TOUR B XS?
Your prov1 vs prov1x test from Oct 7th 2019 showed the prov1x having more spin, most notably on the wedge shots. The 7 iron and driver were nearly identical. But considering the Pro v1X creates more spin, wouldn't that be a closer comparison to the B XS, than the V1???
Do you guys listen to the fore play pod? And if so would you go on it if that was an option?
I love the old Bridgestone E6. I find it flies straight and long and feels good to me. I never felt the newer E6 soft or E6 speed could match it. I've now bought a box of E12 soft having heard they are more like the old E6 but I'm yet to try them. I would love to see some balls in this price range tested and characteristics compared.
Have used these quite a bit, spin well but use the bx as more stable in the wind and spins enough for most courses/greens.
But the bxs along with the mizuno definitely big spinners if that's what a player is after.
They take me back to my precept days!
How about comparing all the Bridgestone golf balls and what golfer they fit well to.
Could see Matty being an "X-Man".😊
can't wait to see further testing of bridgestone balls never realized how significant the price difference was! would love to save $10 every dozen on a golf ball that fits me
Have you guys thought about testing refurbished golf balls? Seeing how they hold up against others.
Shaft in Matt's wedge? And is he 2 deg flat still...
Great video as always
Nippon 130x, and yes
would love to see the srixon ad333 tour tested by you guys, a good and affordable golf ball to test
Ive been playing this ball all year. its great.
the cover on PROVs is too soft, sharp grooves will mess up your ball, not worth $5 per ball. Bridgestones are much more durable, last the entire round plus.
Great Stuff! Would you guys be opposed to frame your shot just a bit lower? It where your eye line is makes me uneasy.
If you think Bridgestone make good golf balls, go and try their golf clubs. Simply superb, worth a review Ian / Matt.........so few people know about them
How u keeping Ian. U all sorted bud??
I love this ball. Performs as good as a pro v for someone of my standard (h15) but is £10 cheaper a dozen.
Bought a bunch with the recent price drop. Ball is great. Can play same ball for 3 or 4 rounds and ball holds up well. Even with scuff here and there
Bridgestone Tour B XS was the first premium ball I've purchased, and it blew me away with its low trajectory and increased spin!
Great test guys my son uses the same ball he loves them.
I'm a pretty shallow and low spin player and I use this ball. Definitely helps me stop my irons quicker.
Any chance of testing the maxfli tour x ball?
Hey can you guys test some Wilson Staff products? Please!!!!!
Definitely on my checklist to try next time on the course 🐅👍
I keep switching between BX and BXS. On the BX right now (better off the driver for me but feels harder).
Both are the best balls in the wind I have played. Only ones I game now...
