Haha, Did you see my video before hand? I tried to do a close up to show it! If you slide the chair all the way back and tighten the bolts by hand first I didnt find it too bad… I emailed gt omega after also to tell them its a bit awkward!
@@MichaelSmithRaces I had to do what you did. Tighten by hand and then barely fit allen wrench to tighten. Overall, once it was done, must say the chair is comfortable.
They should have put the recline lever on the left side for the North America market. Had to slide the vertical bracket way forward to clear the lever. I have the RS12, but the smaller RS6/9 might not have this problem.
Thanks! I didnt think I would ever have room for a full rig, which is why I made the video to show its quite achievable. The length of the rig end to end is 1380mm. Within that footprint you can easily fit the pedals and seat at my height - im 5' 10". you might want to allow around 300mm extra on the back to allow you to recline if you are using a reclinable seat, but if you were tight on space im sure you could fit it into the 1380mm. For me the width is 720mm at the widest point because I have the shifter arm installed for added rigidity, but without the shifter plate as I dont use a shifter. You could exclude the shifter arm, which would get it down to 680mm, and it would be plenty strong enough. I hope in the next few weeks to upload some follow up videos of the various aspects of the rig and seat.
@@MichaelSmithRaces awesome that is exactly what I needed to know mate. Specifically the length with the seat accounted for. I have a Playseat trophy wedged into the corner of my office so keen to seen if the Lite would fit 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey Duane, check my other video back pain in the sim rig comments, Wayne said his was not threaded properly from the factory? Unfortunately might need to get in touch with gtomega! Good luck, will be great when you get it built!!
@takdan Are they just sending you a replacement part? That must be annoying having it half built! Im still injured so I cant use mine either its just taunting me everyday!! Maybe thats why this video has so many views from people trying to figure out why it wont go together!!
@fridayy5378 split the two and put them one in each track of the cutouts. on the underneath of the pedals there are two threaded screwholes you can screw into from the bottom. I have now made a video here: th-cam.com/video/960mGML4Ey0/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the vid, is the seat adjustable? And do you think it would be possible to put in place a gaming chair to start with until I could afford a proper seat? Or would it not fit the fittings? Thanks
Hey Bruce. The rs12 has rear recline and can slide forward and back. I have another video where I have added seat base tilt with the trak racer universal seat mounts, which might also show you some mounting options. You can see exactly how i build the seat attachment. How can your gaming chair mount? If it has 4 holes on the bottom that are in two straight lines then you can most likely make it work easily as the aluminium profile you sit on can be moved to any width. There are extra 90 degree connectors (atleast in mine) so I expect you could use those to attach the seat to the profile.
Is the seat able to be tilted forward? When I am not using it I want to be able to angle the seat forward towards the wheel for storage to keep it in a tight area.
The seat back will tilt forward a bit, but you can also use the seat slider to push the whole seat forward so it wont take up more space than the length of the rig. Depending how tall you are you can probably set it up to be inside the dimensions of the rig anyway if it was essential!
@@MichaelSmithRaces yes but don’t they need to be bolted down or not? Because they seem to keep on falling every time i brake heavy and put some force on the seat.
@@MichaelSmithRaces i an not talking about the top ones that just slide down, i am talking about the circular one with the gt omega logo, which clips on just beneath them.
@sw8carbon lol true but it works both ways, my moza wheelbase is so small i would have a chunk of metal fanning out at the front otherwise. Maybe if I upgrade to a manly amount of torque in the future ill change it :)
Let me know if you want a long term review of the prime lite or the rs12!
[Music][Laugher][Music] sums up the entire vibe of getting a new toy!
Yes i need to get some more fun stuff to film!
Great intro. Very real. Thanks for the video
Nice rig. This model makes the bigger Prime version look over-engineered.
Its incredibly strong, I completely agree!
On 0.25x speed with pausing this was reeeeally helpful to protect me from mistakes :p
@wwvvww573 thanks for letting me know!! Must have looked funny at that speed :D
I just started assembly and I wanted to punch a wall during the seat mount. Also didn't realize it would require a mod to have shifter on right side.

I currently waiting for the same rig :D
Its great! Ive just uploaded another video with a modification that lets the seat base tilt which is the one drawback I have found.
Hey Michael, great build video. What’s the foot print of the rig, tip to tail?

I'm having a tough time at step 15 screwing the side plates directly into the wheel deck frame. It just seems to strip the screw. Any tips?

Thanks Michael. Yes that seems to be the case here. I'll contact gtomega and hopefully it won't take too long to replace.
Rubbish!! Hope they get it sorted quickly for you.

How thick do you reckon the mounting plate for the wheel is?
Just measured its 3mm welded onto another piece that is 4mm, its rock solid...
Do I do something wrong or does my SR-P pedals doesnt fit on the pedal deck?

How heavy do you think this rig is, with and without the seat?
i recon 40&60 kg. you can slide it around on carpet if you put your weight into it. gtomega will have specs

Hi. How did you manage to bolt down the seat plastics both left and right side please?
I dont know what you mean? They just slide down into place if I recall correctly? Perhaps try them the otherside?

you put the wheel base plate the wrong way round
