Great video. I just want to point out that at 1:18 when it says _Required tool Combination spanner #18_ , unless I misunderstood (in which case I apologise), I see the number "21" on that spanner. It confused me in the next shot at 1:27 when it then shows _Required tool Drive socket #21_ undoing the same bolt.
Watched this video, bought new shocks because the old is so worn out. 1:17 looked easy in the video. But on my car this bolt is fastened by like 2000Nm. I've been jumping on the wrench for a minute and didn't move. I have to disconnect the lower arm next time to remove the spring, so that I can impact wrench the bolt. Also, my spring is closer to the bolt and has one or two more turns, no tools can fit there... yay. Update: The bottom last turn of the spring was broken so I had to replace both of them. This explains why I couldn't reach the bolt.
I have a similar problem. There isn't any way to put a wrench on because of the spring and once i did get the bolt out the angle of the shock isn't in line with bolt hole so it wants to cross thread and the knuckle is aluminum. I have done a lot of maintenance to this car and this is by far the worst shit i have dealt with
@@olson4u2 there shouldn't be such thing the hole is not in line with the bolt threads, just compress in the shock a bit or lift the arm, it should get in line.
We can't show you all the nuances and problems when replacing, it's all individual and can't always be solved at home. To avoid this, we always recommend having the replacement done at a specialized service facility.
