    I’ve always found illusion to be a mistranslation of maya. I think you two gave a thorough interpretation; really enjoyed this podcast

      Thank you dearly Reyna. Yes, illusion is a mistranslation to a certain degree. I'm glad we explained it thoroughly for you.

      Perhaps it's the reflection through the mirror of our lived evolutionary experience that the Life Force needs to observe and understand itself?

    • @ViaHarmonica
      @ViaHarmonica 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Indian Philosophy OK, thanks. In my understanding we are all unique expressions of the Life Force (prototype), so no separation except that which philosophers / prophets choose to label their creations with. I do find it interesting though how Hinduism developed separately to other mainstream philosophies, after the pre-Socratics essentially forced the change from polytheistic, nature based and myth-centred gods, to more reasoned, monotheistic gods. I've always thought it interesting that the major prophets in this regard (Pythagorus, the Buddha and Confucius) were all born within 30 years of each other.

    Jason, I always wondered how you could come up with so many topics over so many years. After listening to this podcast I realized that if spoke 5 times a day you would never come near running out of topics. Eastern Spirituality is so deep. I often wondered why Shiva is the center of so many meditations, when Brahman is the ultimate creative force of all things? (I think). I must admit this talk had me diving into some pretty deep waters. Anyway Brother, if your objective is to make people think, you've succeeded. Thanks again to you and your wife for fasinating conversation.

    Thank you Jason for clarifying what Maya actually is compared to so many interpretations that essentially confuse Prakriti with Maya. Also, something clicked for me in this regarding my understanding of Gnosticism. Brahman= Pleroma, Prakriti/Atman = Sophia, and Brahmanda/Ego = Yaldabaoth. Yaldabaoth creates the false reality that traps souls and hides from them their divine nature which that false god is afraid of.

    I think that maya can be understood as an illusion, not in a sense that no one is real or that any interaction with the world isn't real, but rather that this idea of an objective physical world outside of our perception is just that, an idea. This is what people who are into quantum physics and psy phenomenon are trying to say.

    Nothing really matters at the end. A humble quote, i”ll take to Live in this natural world. Bless US✨🙏🏻 love is the only way to see through what we are seeking for. The Rest is just an illusion.

    What a wonderful couple you are. Gayam is an intellectual and spiritual dynamo. If all couples conversed with each other like you both do, there would be no need for couples therapy and trauma-focused counseling. Love and light to you both beautiful souls.❤️🌅

    “Plato’s Heaven” is a concept of a non physical realm where mathematical and
    and other true concepts exist. These are all constructs of human imagination and are presented as eternal truths that are intimately related to the nature of physical reality.
    ...and of course people confuse the reality for the underlying symbology behaving like the symbology is more important than nature itself. Nature doesn’t write write formulas or code, it simply behaves, and that’s where the West has it wrong. “Lord” comes from the Greek and is a reference to a Monarch with “Laws”. Nature doesn’t write Laws either and no amount of Law keeping will produce a path to enlightenment, because it’s spontaneous and unplanned.

    To translate Christianity into a Buddhist and hindu perspective, Jesus dies on the cross for his crappy karma and delusional world view.

      Gurrrr😡😡😡😡😡 JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOUR SINS OVER A CROSS AND NOW YOU HAVE INSULTED THE ALL MERCIFUL LORD GOD, THE KING OF KINGS, THE JUDGE, THE REDEEMER. NOW YOU WILL BE PUNISHED 10 TIMES MORE FOR THAT. REPENT! REPENT BEFORE TOO LATE OR THE LORD GOD JESUS CHRIST THE MOST MERCIFUL GOD WILL TURN YOU INTO KFC IN THE LAKE OF FIRE. SEE GOD IS REALLY MERCIFUL. SAW?🤔🤔🤔🤨
