AA Well that’s how grated cacti grow. In a few weeks they grow from the root part.

Hello
Thank you for your interest. The tops of the cacti will not grow unless they are grafted to a cacti base.
If you are transplanting your grafted cacti into a larger pot you can use an all purpose or cacti soil.
