This video shows my process for modeling and sewing 3D character costume (soldier/mercenary)...
- ZBrush will be used to polish the mesh
- Substance Painter will be used to paint over

Isn't that more like a tactical vest though? Body armor means you have soft armor, ballistic plates or both. In the West that usually means ceramic SAPI plates and soft Kevlar inserts.
To be fair the terminology is rather confusing and inconsistent. A vest can be a body armor, but a body armor must have some kind of armor. Add "tactical" in front of "vest" and suddenly it can't have armor. If a tactical vest has pouches to hold armor plates it is called a plate carrier instead - and if can also hold Kevlar inserts that cover almost the entire torso, then it is called a body armor or ballistic vest. What a mess. 😆

OMG, this is amazing, i was looking for someone making military body armor in marvelous. For me body armor always look little bit different than jacket and pants, because i use marvelous for cloth, so simulation take 90% job on wrinkles, but on armor, it is 100% my manual sculpt, so it is difficult, even after 10 year of experience, to do 100% photorealistic wrinkles by hand. I spend more time now trying to learn marvelous and to see where oi can use it and not to use only basic functions.
Did you plan to make detailed tutorial, without speed up, to put it on gumroad or artstation market. I would definitely buy it, even if it don't have voice explaining principles. I believe as something this advance, many will buy it just to see all thing you did. Cant wait for brush detailing part as well, and how you finish everything on end.
