Extremely reckless behavior by the pilot. I hope he never flys again. He could have killed himself and a number of people on the ground

It could have been caused by say a clogged fuel line or a leak that was undetected. Or his gauge could be malfunctioning. Wait for all the facts before jumping to conclusions.
