- Four teenagers and a 12-year-old allegedly stole an SUV. It ended in a high-speed chase, and the video from May 2021 was just released by Florida Highway Patrol. On the freeway, the SUV changed lanes trying to get away from the pursuing police and lost control, hitting the median, other vehicles, and ultimately flipping over. The five juveniles, who ranged in age from 12 to 16, and a bicyclist they reportedly hit, were taken to a hospital for their injuries.
If you want to do something stupid, don't involve innocent people.

Yep there was a time that I would get annoyed at me stuck in traffic but then I remembered... It's not me having a bad day. It's not me being rushed to a hospital or it's not my family being called about my possible demise in a traffic accident.
So then I say a little prayer for the people involved in the accident , and just be patient trying to get through it, so I can get home to my family.

I would love that news writers stop using "teens" "moms" "dads" to describe people. Instead "14 year old" or "32 year old" " male or female". Jettison the euphemism. This type of behaviour is premeditated attempted murder and needs to be acknowledged as such. We live in a candy apple Disneyesque society and it sickens me.
This is exactly we shouldn’t charge them lightly as “minors” based on their age but the level of crimes and it’s impact on others.

Forget suing the Guardians, the USA Social Workers system make it very difficult to raise children these days. About all a parent can only do so much these days is "look at the children funny" if they do something bad, or make them "stand in a corner". Sue the child driver directly.

That is crazy! One car ended up in the lane on the opposite side and was also hit by oncoming traffic. I wonder how damages were handled. My guess is that would be determined by state and insurance laws for that state. This manages to be set and tragic.

Has to suffer a severe whiplash even with vehicle safety features. This happened on the highway therefore some vehicles (especially the one that hit the driver) was going at highway speed or half that speed.

It was a woman, she got out at the scene from what I remember and was walking around. This is from a couple months ago and footage from the chopper that was tracking them was all over YT. They kept pulling kids out of that SUV like it was a clown car.

Something like this happened a number of years ago in Ontario near a town called Sutton. 3 teenagers thought it would be fun to steal one of the parents’ van at 4am. Driving erratically, they were pulled over by Constable Garrett Styles. The van had been driven up onto a small embankment. When Officer Styles approached, the driver gunned it, trying to get away. He ran over Officer Styles and killed him. In the ensuing further collision the driver ended up being a quadruplegic. Finally, a fitting punishment. Officer Styles was married and had a little girl.
😢 And these kids had minor injuries. At least no one else was hurt.

@@cyrene7784 yes. The young driver that hit the gas and killed the officer, I believe the van flipped and he had a spinal cord injury such that he is in a wheelchair for the rest of his life with minimal use of his arms. He was in high school at the time.

Wakes me up! I was on my phone earlier on the highway and passed into a lane and almost hit a car. They swerved out of the way and almost crashed. I felt so bad that I could’ve caused a wreck. Never having my phone out while driving again!

That to me warrants the right for them to be charged as adults. Perhaps the 12 year old not be charged as such because of their age (and depending on their role) but I still think they should be charged as adults. You can’t expect to get away with a slap on the wrist when you almost killed multiple people.

My fathers friend died like this when he was 13. Stole a care with his friends and they died. My dad was asked to go, luckily he said no. At age 13 he made a life altering decision that made my life possible to live

It's reasons like this that I will never get on a motorcycle. You can do everything right but there's no protection from other people's bad choices.

Yes 👍 by me a few days ago teenagers were going over 100 mph in a residential area lost control and hit a tree. Car split in two killing 4 passengers.
They were hit cause florida up, didn't control the high way .. they could have shut down the freeway like they do for most .
If they want to act like adults charge them as adults, simple.

These kids obviously did something quite horrible but you got to understand children can’t be tried as adults for many reasons and a major one being brain development. Specially with the 12 year old. Obviously there is going to be major life changing consequences and that is necessary.

Underage drinking and car crashes could potentially lead up to casualties which, ya know, human life is very valuable.
All I'm saying is these kids could potentially face equal charges to adults. Plus I'm no American so I only heard such case where kids were charged as adults.

This upsets me greatly. That cyclist's life is changed in a very prominent, and permenant way due to the reckless and selfish behaviour of a few kids. And those kids didn't grow up from nowhere, their parents, and their parents have a lot to answer for.

Some of these parents even ride with their kids. A Muslim dude and his dad got into an altercation with a paper boy. They then got into a van to go find him and shoot him. The father's been arrested the son is still on the run last I heard.
What upsets me is that he needs a GoFundMe to help pay his medical bills when he was hit by a vehicle that the POLICE chased into him. His expenses should be covered by the state in full, or at least partly with the main funds coming directly from the parents of these morons. There's a reason so many places have No Chase policies, and it's for this very reason. If the critical thinking abilities of these actual children wasn't put to the test in an extremely stressful situation they might not have ran and caused all this carnage.

My driving teacher made sure to tell his students we would have to navigate around other idiots on the road especailly on Friday, Saturday nights and to not leave anywhere without having your car keys ready to go! He was great.

All the teens need to be held accountable. Someone could've been killed.
They will get away with it. What is needed is for them to meet relatives of the victims and get sworn and shouted at. They need to be humiliated above all. Put them in stocks and have the public throw sponges at them. And shout and swear at them. Under police supervision so does not get out of hand. Seriously they need to be badly humiliated. Not protected. Gonna just do it again. And other kids will think they can do it.
