@@williamstock3007 The problem with wood is that it doesn't provide the same constant heat that coal does. When going up a hill, or even just going along the road, wood doesn't work because as the fire is drawn through the tubes, the temperature becomes inconsistent, cooling and then getting hotter again. This means that A) the pressure doesn't build and B) it can lead to tube problems. It could possibly work with models, but it wouldn't work for the full sizes.
I'm not aware of any casting/plan suppliers here in the US for traction engines, though I'm sure people make their own from scratch models. We do have some locomotive suppliers though. Still, live steam isn't nearly as popular here in the States as it is in the UK. That said UK firm Maxitrak I recall does offer an American model of a Case tractor.

Wood is sustainable if you replace the tree with a sapling, co2 output from such a small hobby would effect very little in the grand scheme of things
