@@theskyway the show was unbelievable as usual bro 😍love your channel, when I see that bell ringing, makes my day. Did you change something to the light set?
Needed some Iron Maiden/Mark of the Beast playing in the background for this one. I think Rusty was the beast even though he didn't make the cut. Amazing as always.
My pick: With how well Lucas did with the Challenger drift car, that would be a tempting pick, but at under 40 grams, I don’t think Grey has enough weight to hold his own at the Skyway Select. The other three cars loop great. The Lancer was my first thought, but at the Spool Heads track, I’ve seen some mighty fast Corvettes. With the great backing of Commotion Diecast and a great name like Rusty, I can’t resist. Let’s go Rusty Wheeler! I think R-Lo will take second….. Wait, Rusty is driving a Barbie car…. ?! Race 1: R-Lo crushed it on that one. Great race. I thought for sure Rusty finished last due to his start position, but I was shocked to go back and see that he passed Grey somehow between turns 2 and 3. This is a +1 for him. Also a +2 for R-Lo finishing in first here. I think I might have picked the correct two cars advancing, just in the wrong order. Turn watch: I’m very disappointed to see the drift out of the modular turn here, especially considering how clean R-Lo was to that point. I’m relieved it didn’t cost anyone points this race. Also a bit of a fish tail at the start as he searches for his line to take through the turn. I’ll take a closer look at that for sure. Race 2: Ugh, now Rusty starts behind Grey. This is a dangerous place as both Ra and R-Lo could pass them and Rusty could end up last. Fingers crossed I’m wrong. (After race) I WAS WONG! Yay! :) What a surprise race here. Grey amazingly takes first. Rusty had a great chance to sneak up to second but can’t quite pass Grey before Ra neutralizes the pass with a blow “from a rugby lineman” (much more appropriate comparison that American Football!) All in all, points are neutral here with everyone finishing amazingly following starting order. This is a great to keep the competitive balance of this group. Race 3: Rusty’s turn to show off as he starts in pole position (AFTER RACE) Grey dominated here and crushes Rusty’s dreams of advancing. Rusty appears to have let the devil take his rage out on… poor R-Lo. That’s the dirtiest, most evil move I’ve seen on the Skyway. 666… Theo, you called it. If Rusty somehow advances, you might need to have an asterisk next to his name. For the first time during my commentaries of these races, I’m changing my pick. I hope Rusty finishes last now for playing dirty and I’m now cheering for R-Lo to advance. Race 4: R-Lo! R-Lo! R-Lo! If he finishes first here, he advances, which is quite possible considering he’s in pole position. (After race) R-Lo! You did it and Rusty continues to be the beast! What a collision and finish there. Spectacular ending. That round was totally unpredictable each and every race. Grey deserves my apology as I completely underestimated him. Well done! It is so interesting to see how weight is both so important and also completely over rated. If Rusty would have hit a stalled Grey at the finishing of race four, instead of hitting R-Lo, he might have broker the finish line and taken first place! Turn watch: I was both complete appalled and ecstatic by the ending of race four. With how much R-Lo is drifting out of the modular turn, I am very curious to know more about his weight placement. Where ever the weight is, that car doesn’t mix well with the exit of that turn. There are new ramps for the turn coming to the Skyway that should help reduce the drifting. If they don’t improve it significantly, some decisions need to be made. That’s hard to say because we just witnesses an epic, defining moment of action on the Skyway that will always be remembered. I’ve love to hear anyone else’s thoughts about how this group played out, especially in relationship to race four.
Way to write a novel but in regards to your last comment: weight placement is secret 🤫 but I was thinking the same thing. Something about that combined with that last turn isn’t clicking. Makes me wonder…
He's been doing these fantastic commentary for the last handful of videos. It is such a great post show debriefing. Always super insightful. And Also I think its very exciting to watch one of the top racers/builders out there working with the track engineer to tune it perfectly. That's darn cool.
I think the 98 model corvette I decided to use works well on tracks due to its thickness, Barbie’s a little thick but it didn’t help on this race. R-LO built a hell of a car. Nice work R-LO! First time on this track and it was an honor to race with some top names in Diecast on a top notch track!
Chandler Gray really does have an interesting approach. The lighter cars in the Grand Prix sure showed the efficacy of staying light on your tires. But in just three groups of the Select Tournament, weight really sets you apart. It's about momentum as much as it about control. Moving that fast, you need an anchor no doubt. And after Rusty's performance today, you're gonna need every anchor you got to stay in this race. Yes! Its a Barbie car. Had to do a special insert of that logo. Its just too good. And that think truly rips down the track. I feel like I've seen those fast corvettes over at SPH. Its like battering ram dart. kind of like Tuscan TVS. It was nice to see that Gray could really take advantage of his strong point: Speed but race two really validates the fear regarding an absence of control. He's lucky he survived two giant hits, let alone just one. The light weight probably made it possible for him to flip back round to finish the race. Yea the Rugby Lineman was based off of your comment right? About the linebacker? had to make it a touch more authentic for Braves. Man I wish Rusty advanced so that I could use the asterisk referring to him as the beast. Or maybe get some red paint, and over "Barbie" just smear "666" Rusty really revealed the absence of rules or laws on the track. R-LO is like that kind of sportsman: in a pinch, under pressure, he can make it happen. It was like an action film. The only ones left are the rivals in Pink. That collision will have to be in every highlight reel the Skyway ever does. But great to see R-LO move on. He's going to really bring it in the semis. What will be interesting in the Semis is that every one is the fastest in their group. So I expect tight groupings, paint swapping, and powerful passes. I said in my reply to R-LO in this thread, but I think a couple things. One: amazing that you are tuning the turn in real time as you get data during this tournament. So cool. Second: To have a dialogue with R-LO is even cooler. And finally: Its a great turn. And the way that it is now, is its own character. Its dynamic and unique, and nice challenge on a fairly straight forward track. Because if you hit this version right, the right speed, the right angle... it works like butter. Thanks again for the fun of this post show commentary. Always the best, I get so much out of it!
@@RLoRacing @The Skyway Love the idea of painting in red over the Barbie car! Hilarious. I'm starting to think that R-LO might have a lot more showmanship in his game than he lets on. Who knows what he said to make Rusty target him. Then the whole emergency break "drift" stunt at the end? Who does that except for someone trying to get a reaction out of "The Barbie Beast Devil Car?" I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for his showmanship next round. @The Skyway, will you be releasing the groups for line two on Facebook or in a TH-cam short before the races begin? I'd love to have some time to think about those head to head matchups before the race videos drop.

Now this....the only driver to survive all four laps eliminated and the two winners shows weakness when starting from behind. R-Lo with some senseless fails that nearly cost him the next round. Must be improved by then. Love C Gray. Might be a bit too light, but boy can he handle it on full throttle. Needs to improve his attacking when starting from the back, though. Sorry Rusty and Ra. Playing safe can be efficient, but not when you're doing it every time. Another I-need-a-stiff-drink-after-this-race moment this was, I can tell you. Tonight I go for a double aquavit. Aaaah.....
Really fantastic commentary. Im always so grateful for your comments. You're so right. If Gray can find ways to stay present when starting in the back then he will be truly a threat to those who can consistently break through to the front. Playing it safe is a great tactic. Im all for it. It just might keep your wheels on the track and allow you to finish. But at a certain point, you need to know when to hit the "reckless abandon" button and make some miracles happen.
Well, that was action packed and speedy. I'm sure these drivers are getting faster and faster.. Talking of speed. Firstly, you already produce a fantastic show and I know it will only get better and better over time like we have seen already. Do you have plans for adding track times and speed record holder etc, for future?.. Cheers 🏁

OMG!!! GREY!! a new name to me !! I totally thought this would be an R-low & Rasungod show. I've heard of Rusty a few times. The SKYWAY strikes again.
The Grayboys return to the skyway in Group One of the Muscle Car Rally tournament going on now!
Wow, whose car are nice.
Seriously! Stylish builds and R-LOs car is wicked cool. Thanks for watching!
Awesome casting, great racing video............. absolutely loved it too much...............and just subscribed to your channel ............ and trying to watch all your nice videos one by one. That's really great. Hope you will also stay tuned with my new channel as well. Take care and best wishes dear friend.
Hey thanks so much AR. Thanks for the kind words and the subscription. Means a lot. Stay tuned there so much more to come. and I will check out your channel right now!. All the best!
Letsss gooo letss race bro
heck yea! Thanks Z! This group sure brought the heat!
Aaaah.....
Great commentary here! 100% agree
Agreed!
Well, that was action packed and speedy. I'm sure these drivers are getting faster and faster.. Talking of speed. Firstly, you already produce a fantastic show and I know it will only get better and better over time like we have seen already. Do you have plans for adding track times and speed record holder etc, for future?.. Cheers 🏁
Hey Kit! Thanks so much for another great comment. The drivers are truly getting faster because I am having a really hard time keeping up with them as I film the races! and these drivers are really putting on a show. Thanks so much for the kind words! We will keep going and growing. As for track timer. It is something I am interested in. But I have to find an interface that matches the aesthetic of the channel. I love the Slanman Custom one because its quite small, but doesn't really fit in the world. As silly as that may sound, just looking for something a little different. Building a new track in a few weeks. Potentially I start looking again.
@@theskyway I've got to show you the track timer a relative made for me. It will make you jealous :)
@@theskyway Hey there.. Not silly at all. Continuity in building a show is everything. Stay true to your concept. Don't worry, you're safe, I don't make a habit of replying to replies... cheers
wow somehow I missed this one!
Ah a nice surprise! glad you had an extra race to watch.
😎🤘👍👍👍
Thanks Luis! Thanks for always watching and commenting. Means a lot!
This was amazing, great track and setup! Are you british?
Hey thanks so much. Glad you found us. And I’m actually from the states. (But Theodore Braves is def British ;)
With some work still to do on his dialect 🙏
@@theskyway Makes sense now, the accent sounded very familiar to be British🤣. Everything about the races, street lights and commentary is amazing, keep going!
@@prodbydripz9676 hahah Ill keep working on it! And thanks so much for the kind words. means a lot. I shall keep going! Thank you!
