I recall when I first found this channel. Some hosts struggle to find their groove after months of uploading content but here the style fit so well from the start, all the disparate puzzle pieces of video production gelled perfectly 🥰
Youre too kind! I so appreciate the comment. Commentating is one of the most fun parts of this. The cars tell a story all on their own, and its a blast to chase the story! Thanks so much for watching.
Drivers getting better and better on this track. Final race will be faster then ever. And those two flips are hillarious. Great job as always. Glad that spectators are safe this time.
Thats right! This track and this tournament heats up as it goes. The groups grow more competitive and the racing becomes much more consequential. Thanks so much for watching!
Ah thanks so much Milestone! means a lot! Its a simple simple track, but these cars really do look great as they cruise down the tarmac, and this group brought some much needed excitement with them. Thanks for watching!
When nothing else matters put it all on the line and the throttle to maximum effort. That's what Horn and Fang did and what a comeback for Stetson Horn after that 1st race wipeout. Fang raced fast and steady and that consistency won this race. Ultra exhilarating commentary and brilliant coverage, anyone can just close their eyes and still be in the midst of the high-octane edge of the seat action. Other worldly production from the Diecast Deity. 10,001 thumbs up! Cheers. Those drivers are lucky to be racing at the Skyway. Those roof top finishes would never stand at the OMR, as the saying goes, "Keep your roof to the Sun". Mahalo! 🤙🏽
Love to see the familiar names of Horn and Fang show up in a comment. Really brings them to life! Thanks so much for watching, and as always you have the most outstanding comments. They always offer so much support and re-invigorate my imagination. Wishing you the best sir!
Right, didn't you WIN here with the same casting? I could be remembered another event, though. Wild how it wrecked in the first lap, completely unforced!
@@numbskulldiecastracing ohhh now I do remember--gently chided you that the car was _too pretty_ to send in! Couldn't bear the idea of that paint/decal job getting scuffed despite the inevitability
The look may have changed for the moment but the vibe remains the same! White knuckle racing on a suspended track that challenges the steely nerves of racers and spectators alike, coupled with that inimitable dynamic announcing that *only* Theodore Braves brings to the table!! 💯😎🏁
Thanks Chris! yea def a return to form, def a return to simpler production, but the cars are gorgeous, and I hope as the tournament goes on, it will continue offer some great racing. Thanks for your great comment!
That viper was one of the first castings I ever purchased in this hobby. And I had been saving it all these years for this tournament, and the first thing it does is flip! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ still a pretty car!
always have to watch out for those consistent 2nd place finishers, beautiful racing by as just a stunning car gonna have to keep an eye out for that Porsche
Thats right! They don't get their names in bright lights throughout the race, but by race four they've got 9 points and are set up to be super competitive for that final round. Thanks so much for watching!
I love that viper so much! One of the first castings I ever purchased, and had been saving it for this moment. And it turns out, it prefers to drive upside down. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ! Thanks so much for watching, Aaron!
Fast paced and action packed is The Skyway. Stetson Horn probably lucky to be moving on, that 1st place, lap 2 on his lid was incredible. And yes, consistency wins out and is something to always watch out for. New track working well indeed. Great stuff all round 🏁
Thanks so much Kit! YOu're right, Horn is lucky to moving on. That was some dumb reckless luck. This group sure did bring the unexpected with them. Thanks again for watching!
All star cast indeed! I love these castings. Ranging from Premium to just plain mainline, they all are so beautiful and brought some excitement to the track. Thanks so much for watching.
I mean... I'm pretty sure you already knew what I was going to say I this comment but here it goes anyways..... YOU KNOW IM JUMPING FOR JOY OVER HERE BC PORSCHE!!! GO FANG GOOOOOOOOO!!!
Oh I thought about you the whole time. Its great to see a GT3 be the fastest on the track. Its great to see one win. This Porsche is for sure dedicated to you!
What the heck. How am I suppose to pick out of this group. I can hear you laughing as you put the group together thinking, "Oh Russ is going to have a terrible time picking a winner from this group. - evil laugh - ha ha ha." When I saw the Subaru I thought, "oh that's a nice car. I'm totally picking that". Then Horn came on in the Viper and I'm a sucker for returning drivers, especially in a ride like that. But then you put the Lambo in and said the name like a Italian language master, so that was totally going to be my pick. Finally you put one of the best drivers at the Skyway in a Porsche weighing almost 20g more than the other cars in the line up. What am I to do!? So I'm picking Fang, cause he's awesome, the car is awesome and it weighs a lot. Race 1: Horn, that's why Spool Heads recommends grooveless in ramps. Got to watch out for that! Boy Fang looked great that heat. That car hugged the track and you could tell the top speed was the best in the group. Feeling good about my pick. Race 2: Oh my goodness that was fun to watch. Horn flips again and Fang absolutely dominating from the back lane in race 1 and 2. Wouldn't be surprised to see a track record in one of the next two races. Race 3: I'm disappointed here but not worried. Three second place finishes is very impressive, but he better not get a second place sweep when he starts in the pole on race 4. Race 4: That's the speed and control I wanted to see. You know I like danger, but having a perfect run down a track is amazing as well. Boy I'm glad I didn't pick the Lambo. Thanks for the entertainment!
Oh yeah that Porsche really nailed it this time! So unexpected to only because the GT3s never really run great. They right so low, but this one really tore it up. And the weight, while it totally served his speed, really keep that car stable with all four wheels on the track. The same cannot be said for the other castings.
Oh man that Subaru is one of my favs! Also one of the first cars I purchased. It was the fastest in the fleet for many years. But the exact same can be said for the viper. I love this group so much. As for you picks of the group! I always pick the same ones you do. So no evil laugh coming from me! I think my favorite line in this commentary is "I'm disappointed but not worried." I feel like I could use that in my life as a healthy way of expressing myself. hahah. But this group surely was pretty, but a whole lot less pretty when they finish the races on their hoods. Thanks so much for your commentary as always!
Great channel and racing! Honestly, I wish the track was longer. Its a nice layout but it's over too soon! Maybe add several feet on the next build? Everything else is top notch! Lighting, editing, photography, commentary- you got it goin' on!
🤭 You are one tough customer Doug! Truth be told I had to go back to the very first race here to re-experience that thrill. The track _was_ much longer then, I'm just happy the show goes on! With so many terrific shows packing it in, plus the shuttering of major YT players these recent days, I will cling more fiercely to those still making a go of it here
I hear you! And of course I would've loved to have this track be shorter but due to shifting life circumstances, simpler was all I could manage right now. The goal of this channel is to have many different tracks and experiences. if you haven't already, I suggest checking out Thunder Run. The last track we did. Super long and exciting, and I hope some day in the future I can bring back something more substantial. Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much Chris! That's the spirit I carry as well. I'll do a simple track if its the only track I can do, and then Ill keep praying for a chance to do a bigger one. The ideas are already to percolating.
the significant weight advantage of Fang guaranteed him a top 2 finish throughout but what if Horn had not DNF'ed Race 1? also interesting, was Horn beating Fang in Race 3: does that indicate track bias, or that Horn could really beat Fang despite the weight disadvantage?
The short answer is that there's too many variables in play to definitively speak to your points. Rerun this match a dozen times and yeah you stand a better chance of having some answers. Definitely appreciate the questions you raise, I was too thrilled about a new upload to think too much about the details!
Such good commentary here. Sometimes that weight advantage can back fire, and with the Porsche GT3 and the way that casting rides so low to the tarmac, I wasn't sure the weight would offer any benefit, but it offered stability more than anything. This group really highlighted that. However, a car 20g lighter than it, (the viper) two times was able to get out in front and stay there. It was a fun experiment. Thanks so much for watching.
So well said Chris! A lot of variation, and a lot variables. The weight certainly has its benefits, but some of these lighter cars are pure lightning. I like seeing how all this shakes out. And its always nice to have an outlier in the group. Just to shake things up a bit!
& how to get an invite, is it like Banzai Pipeline? I got a few whips, tho my aesthetic is not showroom. Bare metal, backwoods. back in the day, a 73 911t came into my world, the guy & his son painted by hand with house paint, you could see the brush strokes. It was used for club racing, the 500 car/gray ghost for the color which is difficult for other drivers to spot on the track.
Ah your style sounds rad! No invites at the moment. This track was photographed back in October. I currently don't have a track that is up and running. But maybe in the future if I ever get a space again, perhaps then Ill do another mail in race. We will see!
Best announcer in the diecast business without a doubt.
