awesome idea. Thank you. I just did to my windows with cottonballs and can already tell an immediate difference. I put electrical tape on the seal of my window to test it out and sure enough that cold breeze is gone. I'm gonna get some of that tape as well to seal the rest. Thank you again! I know this is an old video but I hope others having this issue will see this because this could help you as well!
Just leave a little flap on the end of tape on the window you need the point of exit for emergencies. Get yourself a strong tape for at least that window so when you pull it off it come off in one swipe.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I will do this to my drafty window in my office upstairs. Also, I appreciate the tip about not sealing all windows because of emergencies like a fire.
Cotton balls are a great idea. Only video I found that solves that little spot. Is there a permanent solution? I bet in summer the heat will be an issue.
I am here because... I have drafty windows throughout my old house. ☁️🌬🥶 Every winter, I use the 3M Window Insulation Kit to cover windows throughout my house...and then take it down in the Spring, along with trying to remove what tape I can from the woodwork. 🥴 It's a chore and looks unsightly, but...definitely helps to keep much of yhe drafts out. 👌 Wondering how this would compare? 🤔 Definitely less time-consuming and looks much much better, if nothing else, but... How does it compare to plastic-wrapping? 🤔
great job!...I can't think of what you would call it, but on top of your bottom window, don't some people put sort of thicker material... like tubing of sorts ..i forget the name..
After seeing this, I grabbed some black electrical tape and did this to my old wood windows, and I could tell the difference right away! Thanks!!!!

I did this with some frost king clear 2” tape. Hope it stays on when gets cold.
Thank you! Good idea

Glad it was helpful!
Awesome tip thank you. It made a huge difference to my very drafty windows.
GREAT idea!! I will be ordering some & getting my windows done asap! Thanks for sharing a great efficiency tip!! 👍👍👍👍

You’re welcome 😊
Thank you who knew….it works☺️
You're welcome!
Does the tape leave a residue when you peel it off in the spring?
Hello! Nope. The vinyl tape in a conditioned space will leave no residue. Hope this helps!
Gonna try this,thank you.

I just posted another new video that may help with that. Thanks for watching.
@@ryanf.7933 Wow...awesome! 😊👍👍 Thank you SO much...greatly appreciated! 🤩
Nice video. I think ill try caulking where you taped
Thank you
But if I did this the neighbours can’t hear my cry for help when the mrs is attacking me
Great idea! I will be trying this. I have wood windows, will it peel off the paint?
If the paint is in good condition, it should be OK and not peel off.

When spring comes, will the tape come off? Does it leave a residue?
I am wondering the same thing! I did window film last year and have awful tape residue that I can't remove!
What brand tape was it?
Hello. It's a generic 1" vinyl tape available on Amazon.
Awesome idea! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Hi Ryan! Do you think 3/4" will do?
I would go with the 1" so there's plenty of adhesion on both sides of the gap.
Are you using electrical tape or is this a window sealing tape?
It's a vinyl tape comparable to electrical tape. Low tack, so no residue when removed.
Looks great!!!👍👌👍👌
..
Thanks!
Did you notice any difference on soundproofing road noise?
Yes. By sealing gaps, it helps with sound proofing as well
so how do you open the windows when you want them open?
Take the tape off and open them
This solution is really for the cold winters where you are not opening your windows
@@lid-h7e😂😂😂
I thought Jason Sudeikis was showing how to insulate windows! Lol😅
I've been told Jason and I are long lost brothers. Thanks for the comment.
But how is this helpful when you wanna actually open your window
You’re meant to take the tape off when it’s no longer cold out. This is great for winter so you could take the tape off in spring
Sometimes you want to vent the air out even during the winter
@@Gerardboard yeah but sometimes people wanna open their window and can’t wait till spring..
Just buy an extra roll so u have extra to replace after opening your window?
Dear lord
This will rip off the paint on painted wood windows
Caulk
Then you can't open the window 🤔👎
Opening your windows mid-winter is not recommended unless you're a snowman or enjoy high heating bills.
