    We are well and truly retired, sod the caravan and big 4wd, went back to another Vitara, and also a hardfloor camper. We bring a 40 lt esky most of our trips now, big trips more then 7 days, we take the 3 way fridge. It is a buzz getting back to lighter travelling. The camper only weighs 400kg loaded. It is a restored 1980 mod Campomatic. Going back to this setup has given us more freedom. With the van we did maybe 2-3 trips a year. We have only had the camper since Oct. and have done 9 trips in it. We go away for at least 5 days every 10 days, it has been a buzz to feel young again. Don't ever stop camping Tyler, no matter what, it is the best enjoyment out there.

    Very cool to see you out in the new car. If those tyres are only the 2nd set ever on the car and are 8 years old then they will be very hard and not have any grip, so they'll be dangerous on the road if driving on wet roads. Change asap before you have an accident

    With the auto offroad, you 100% need to use it in manual mode all the time on the hilly stuff. I only have the 4 speed without tiptronic, and am constantly moving the selector from 1st to 3rd/4th. I have a nomad valve body which gives me engine braking in 1st as well, that was an excellent upgrade. When you fit the larger tyres you may need to consider reduction gears for off-road. Shale type road surfaces will easily slice through a tread like what happened - I have had this coming out of Walhalla where a sharp stone cut through the tread of a near new all-terrain. Always use Wrangler MTRs or Nitto muddies now, never had a flat on them.

      Everyone’s an expert 🙄

    • @stavio12
      @stavio12 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@officialWWM He's right about the reduction gears when fitting bigger tyres in an auto. I went Marks 4wd 43% reduction gears in mine after having a constant runaway Patrol on steep descents and a near death experience and a sliced tread because of the speed on the downhill descent.

    • @einfelder8262
      @einfelder8262 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stavio12 Yep, there are dickheads who know much more than people who actually do things and have first hand experience. I don't have reduction gears in mine on 33" muddies, but since putting in the nomad valve body it's fine down every High Country track I've driven (most of them), I also have much better pads and rotors than standard, which removed the previous serious brake fade. The really steep ones I use the handbrake as well.

    • @stavio12
      @stavio12 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@einfelder8262 Yeah the 43% is fine for me. As we all know Vic High Country is just that, bloody High and everyone should have the confidence to tackle downhill descents without worrying about losing their rig or worse, dying.

    When are you going to put a snorkel on?
    Stainless rear facing are good they stop all the bugs getting into the filter.
    But all the flow results on you tube etc point towards forward ram head style snorkels. Carnt wait to see this video. Exhaust upgrade coming? I run a Beaudesert straight through 3” stainless on my stroked boosted patrol Ute sounds sick. When we had the 3crd we had a 2 3/4 beau with a single muffler it made a big difference and still sounded good.
    We also ran turbo smart boost actuator 20 pound. Easy to fit less lag better boost curve and no boost spike. A lot better then daws valve electric set ups etc well worth it
    Steinbauer chip hpd cooler stainless airbox to turbo hose and forefront industry cooler hoses. Such a huge difference less chance of any issues in the bush at all with stainless boost hoses. The factory ones split a bit after a few years.
    I drive throttle control.
    Still my partner and I wish we never sold the st patrol wagon to go to a dual cab Ute.

    I much prefer the auto for offroad. Have had 11 4wds and my last one and current are autos and I wish I went auto years ago. Just makes hills and technical driving so much better. More speed control and no worries about kiling a clutch, even with mud holes.
    Have been using the "dog turds" for years on 4wd tyres, normal car tyres and even road bike tyres and they are a life saver. Just put a new tyre on my brothers road bike to which he had worn down beyond the tread and when I got the tyre off, I noticed it had a turd in it so it had allowed him to use the tyre till the end of its life plus some.
    Keen to see some mods happening to the GU. Afterwards you could do a comparison between the nav and GU and share your pros and cons.

    Great work Demi bringing some class to Tylers videos for a change 😂😂
    It's so good seeing you both out in front of the camera having a great time, and the GU is such a clean looking 4wd and you won't regret it guys. Also seeing Demi getting some experience behind the wheel is good to see, and the view as usual is beautiful.
    Can't wait to see you both in future video's, keep up the great work guys and enjoy 👍👍

    To dry your tofu try freezing it then use your paper towel after it thaws. It gets so much more water out.

      I have a great way to treat the tofu - leave it out in the sun to dry while I'm cooking my pork chop, then eat the pork chop and leave the tofu for the next camper. Wild animals and birds won't eat it, so it's not suitable for humans either :) :) I do, however, eat a couple of cubes of it in my seafood curry laksa haha.
