Imo the nerfs to the fusions weren’t enough. Not discrediting the players, however these characters still have the tools that made them top tier in the first place. Mirrors in grand finals just kind of prove that. I love this game but I hope they tune them down just a bit to the levels of all the other characters
i dont think they should be nerfed but the characters that are mid-tier or low tier should be buffed, they have A LOT of potential to be one of the best characters (looking at trunks and frieza), and i have hope for my thesis because vegeta blue last patch got super buffed and became the main star of this patch. I hate seeing fusions play ngl, and im super glad teams this patch got a bit more diversified but it is still not enough for other characters to shine.

I just don't like how Dragonball fighterz has evolved. Basically everything post lab coat 21 has been lame. Worse metas, a bigger focus on bypassing the neutral with beams and balls which was already a problem and a few just obviously broken characters. Hopefully they can get it back on track and just don't put 21 in any future games.
The only thing I didn't like about Evo this year was the repeating of the Chipotle commercial where they mispronounced anything not in English. I pay $12 for a burrito, they can pay for correct pronunciation from professionals.
Commentator at the end said it was one of the most stacked DBFZ tourneys, in actuality it is one of the least stacked DBFZ as all the really good players have moved on and are playing SF6
Well GO1, Sonicfox, Wawa and Kazunoko do not play it at the moment, but still with Yasha, Nitro, Hikari and others it was quite entertaining and level was really high.

The final match was borning honestly. Garlic bread and nitro fighting were the best fights. Garlic had actual skill and didnt cheese thru w the fusions like hikari and yasha. Thats what i cant stand about pro fighterz players. Theres no diversity between characters its just the same meta characters.
I didn't see Garlic pull off insane spark baits like Yasha did. If Yasha cheesed through the tourney to the finals, he did it with no meter and that alone says a lot about his skill. I agree that the final was boring, but Yasha is fun to watch for me. It's not the team but the brains you need to look at to enjoy his gameplay.

Sonicfox decided to focus on Street Fighter 6 and DQ'd themselves. Kazunoko didn't attend the event. Go1 came to Evo but only focused on SF6. Many of the old heads for this game dropped it a while ago. Fenritti is still playing the game but only got 13th place this year.

This isn't really a problem with FighterZ, its just how competitive fgc works. Pick the best characters for the best chance to win money.
