VI had its support dropped because of iffy online netcode during the pandemic, IMO.
yet poor SC has long been seen as the black sheep. SC6 had Hamada in charge and apparently he didn’t see it as serious just a job. I mean Tekken has it’s TWT, Combo Breaker events and they always reveal new content- SC in contrast, is like Gundam in that Bandai seems to forget they exist then release something before back at Tekken development. Dragon Ball also gets this as Xenoverse 2 came out, had DLC but you see no streamers really playing it and since DBFZ came along it’s taken over all DB projects
Only meh thing about that match is it just felt like the commentators were constantly drooling over the Taki player even when the Cassandra player was making good move :/

evo makes space for communities themselves to run tournaments for their games and spooky was kind enough to cover them on his channel. the side tournaments were like semi-official if you ask me because they had all the excellent evo graphics, sponsors, overlays etc.
heh I guess you could say it was rather fortunate that we got to watch incendiate and boom at the finals. They pbbly play against each other offline every day (especially before evo) and have incredibly high knowledge of each others fighting style and not just their characters. At the same time it`s a unique kind of experience given the fact that this time they are fighting at one of the biggest SC tournaments and not in the local game cafe. I wonder to what extent it affected them mentally and also how much of it was positive effect (them being at the top of their game) or negative (feeling pressure/stress etc).Hah though with all this said my fav matchup was between Manta and Omega :D Every second of that fight was just peak Soulcalibur \m/ Despite that I gotta say overall the player pool felt really lackluster for me. Literally not a single person out of all the ppl I expected and wanted to see played at this EVO ;(
1:43:53 i think cutting the ending like that is disrespectful to the audience watching. That would have been such a cool ending. Prize money should be cut in final stages of the competition if any player cuts a game off before life bar has officially been drained!!!
@@Ragnell_9 This lazy joke is horrible in literally every single aspect, i had moments where after a lethal hit the guaranteed punish misses for no reason lmao, it has terrible textures, soulless empty stages, barebone customization, lazy story modes, copy and pasted assets from SC4 and 5, boring guest characters, unbalanced roster and awful voice acting that is beyond cringe worthy :D, anyway DOA5LR is 1000 times better but almost any fighting game out there is better tbh.
Boom is so good. I just feel the 2 people that can reall challenge incediate (other than Boom) are Saiyne and Linkorz but I havent seen them in an majors in so long. 😢

Braindead Geralt play is still way too effective, and honestly, if they have to nerf your life bar because your offense is too good, that too is just plain busted in such an offense heavy game. Combine that with obsolete netcode and thats why no one plays anymore.
Both are very high risk plus many players know and use the moves that leave them with enough frame advantage to sidestep reversal edge. And if you wiff a gi in your opponents face then you could eat a full combo.

@@brorjace08 so different moves lead to different parrys +frames. Also most players just call it gi so im going to refer to it as such. So you yave levels of gi 1, 2, and 3 not sure on the exact frame advantage i think its gi level 1 is +6, gi level 2 is +18 and gi level 3 is plus a whole lot.
soul calibur is right now my 2nd favorite fighting game. losing to tekken cause damn tekken really lvled up. Soul calibur is missing something I dnt know feels like the characters are too heavy.
The eventual VII would take place during the same year as II, III, and IV, so you might get your wish (besides the game engine). It would be neat to see the older games on modern platforms again. Hopefully they end up better than the glitchy release that II HDO was at its start (and debatably still is from an aesthetics standpoint).
Soul Calibur VI has the worst stages I've seen in the series. Literally no life in the background except for the 2B stage but even those things aren't human.
Taki usually pushes the lines for that since her suit is usually skin tight. 2 had everything super skin tight (basically nothing is left to the imagination) while having everything covered, so she got past censors that way. DOA usually gets flak because its main draw is sex appeal. Soulcalibur has sex appeal pretty close to DOA's level, but it usually gets a pass because its main focus is weapon based combat. DOA6 died because they tried to dial back the sex appeal (that and the monetization was bad), which was one of the main draws for the franchise. Both franchises are very fun, however. I own every mainline entry for both franchises because they're fun to play.
I love both although I find that since playing DoA I found other 3D fighters oddly slow in comparison due to how fluid DoA is. I like DoA6 especially as back turns are far easier to do but yes; overall the fanbase were upset it toned the fanservice down which is kinda ironic seeing as for so long the competition and videogame reviewers like IGN always made fun of the series for fanservice yet when Team Ninja take that onboard and dial it back- DoA6 ended up a commercial failure compared to it’s predecessors… Hopefully the talks are legit and that we may see a DoA revamp or DoA7 in the next couple of years though Team Ninja said they do have projects lined up for us soon

So, casuals were pissed, Hardcore players were pissed and whales were pissed

That Taki and Cassandra fight was intense! That set up for the ring out was crazy! Love that the players gave each other mad prips at the end.
It really was intense lol.

I thought that at this level there would be more parrys... No one parrys and no one uses the multiple parry botton (forgot the name) why is that?

Gi level 3 is plus enough that kiliks a+b becomes a force block fo the opponent

What happened to SC? Too many effects and not enough swordfighting. Sould Edge + SC1/2/3 were pretty good, and since then it's been going downhill.
The game is 60 fps, but video is at 30 fps. Wondered why such a stuttery game would have some popularity.
