I think I can honestly say that this is the best sounding Honda I have ever heard with that Vibrant Performance Resonator/Muffler combo! I was kind of expecting it to sound "ricey" (like a swarm of angry bees or something) like most Hondas with aftermarket cat-back exhausts, but I was pleasantly surprised! That little CRX sounds pretty awesome with that exhaust setup now! It's not too obnoxiously loud at idle or anything, but it has a nice, deep growl to it when you open it up that's not too raspy sounding or anything. This is how ALL Hondas should sound IMO!!
Thanks for the video, finally decided to do it. Today I put a flowmaster 40 and a glasspack resonator on my F23 6GA coupe and it made my life so much better! Before it had a full DNA exhaust system, sounded alot like that CRX did at first. Couldn't handle daily driving like that anymore.
Definitely sounds a lot better. No more rasp. And that's some serious trust holding that muffler with bare hands while cutting it open with the sawz all.
Sounds so much cleaner. Nice tone and no rasp. 👍 I was lucky enough that the last owner had the Dorman piping from autozone put on when he had the B7 replaced with a Jdm Non-Vtec D15B. This just verifies why I want the Vibrant muffler.
Nice work. Vibrant is good stuff. I used a vibrant ultra quiet resonator on my turbo integra with a flowmaster 50 muffler. Very smooth and quiet for cruising.
Having a full 2.5in custom tig welded V-band exhaust done on my 01 GsR next week. Yonaka 4-1 header, high flow CAT to Vibrant Ultra Resonator to Vibrant muffler. I'm even more stoked now after listening to this CrX running similar components. I will put a video up, actually my first ever video up lol after it gets done!
I just ordered the same one 2.25 in/out to tone down my flowmaster delta race muffler, it's in the mid muffler with muffler delete & resonator delete, so I believe this resonator will refine the sound
I love the new sound. Its very clean and crisp no rasp. Before I got my 91 si a year and a half ago I used to have an 88HF that I got dirt cheap. It had the stock super tiny diameter piping with the axle back cut off completely. It sounded pretty garbage. All I had room in the budget for was one of these spec D exhausts. I only paid $70 for it I think back in 2013. It lasted me all the way until 2017 so I'd say I got my $70 worth lol. It didn't quite fit right where the tail pipe comes out to the bumper, it was clocked at little higher and ultimately rubbing the bumper so I had to cut, clocked it right, and then welded it back together. Otherwise it wasn't terrible. What's strange though is I hit a pretty beefy armadillo one night omw back from Dalles and with the car power than stock it smacked the muffler and completely caved it in, when I looked under it i saw inside the muffler was I believe fiberglass or something so muffle the sound down. It remained fairly quiet even though it was damaged. I ended up getting rid of that car and once I bought the 91 si I kind of fell into the same situation with the stock exhaust lol. This time around I didn't want to get another spec D, I saved a little ended up with a brand new invidia N1. I've been in love with it ever since
You probably had one of the nice ones where they actually used packing inside the mufflers. The Invidia one is nice sounding, I just don't like how it comes out crooked. It throws me off.
Don't forget to add header wrap. Not only for heat control but to keep heat in the exhaust gases for as long as possible. Heat is the lubrication of exhaust flow. Also, over the years I've noticed that it has a tendency to improve the tone on the small 4 bangers. Being in the desert, I extend the wrap as far as I dare. It will promote rust if you put it on an area which will see moisture but there isn't a lot of that here, haha. Of course, with most old Hondas having the exhaust coming out the front of the motor maybe it's less of a good idea.
That vibrant sounds 100% better! I think the reso helped kill the rasp a bit too. I have a ebay canister on my accord, but still stock piping up to it. It doesn't sound bad at all, no fart no rasp, but I've got some drone around 2k that I want to deal with, so I'm gonna add a reso or 2,
I have a 4-2-1 header and a dc sports muffler piping from resonator on back sounds much cleaner now at first I had a cheap eBay fart can😂 I was thinking of getting vibrant but guy at the shop threw In the muffler for 20$ and welded it in place I couldn’t complain
I've been impressed with vids on cars running vibrant mufflers. saw a chick with a v8 and vibrant mufflers on the back. she deleted the resonator, two small mufflers and the two larger rearmost mufflers...her piping from the cats to the mufflers in the back was straight piped! I like vibrant because there was no rasp like this civic had in loads, and it was just low/deep rumbling, like the new exhaust on this civic. it's really hard to make an n/a 4cyl not sound like butt
This made up my mind. I already have a vibrant resonator I just put on. I'm gonna pick up one of these mufflers for my del sol. I have a crx the same color but it sounds much better with my magnaflow the same way you've had this muffler mounted. Keep it up guys!

I have got a vibrant 2,5", the short one on my car. Cat - vibrant resonator - exhaust cutout. I thought it would still be crazy loud and just got the vibrant to get rid of some drone and vibrations. BUT, the thing is extremely powerful for its size. Honestly it makes the car a bit too quiet almost and thats with only the vibrant and nothing else besides the cat. But maybe it will get a bit louder the more i drive it... i hope so at least
Great job! This is something I'm about to take on with my recently acquired EG. It has a crappy ebay exhaust and it rattles and is doing it's best to rust out as quickly as possible. Time to rectify that issue.
I always used a cherry bomb glass pack just past the converter and then used the fart can on the end. Went from 2 1/2 to 2 and 3/4 exhaust sounded really nice deep smooth growl.. for less than $90 total plus weld
