That’s why you don’t authorize them to drive it on the street, just in the bay to fix it and you test drive the issue and if it’s not right, take it back. That’s why you paid for the warranty but the dealer know if most people financing they prolly don’t have lawyer money to take them to court so use the news as your outlet

Many states legally it falls on the customers insurance, you have insurance just Incase the vehicle is in a accident not saying it’s right to do that just saying legally it falls on the customer. Usually when you sign the work order there is a disclaimer about this where you sign in small letters.

All dealers are crooks and corrupt and something must be done to them. I have had a similar incident with a Toyota dealer in Tustin, California. I took my new car at the time for a service and when I picked it up the driver side front bumper was damaged, I immediately reported it and the shop manager tried not to take responsibility and claimed that it was like that when I brought it in, and I argued with him that this wasn't the first time the car comes to their shop and I had no damages what so ever, he finally took it to a body shop there and they put the bumper back. It was small damage but still, people should take responsibility for their mistakes. At almost all dealerships that I've taken my cars to, their employees drive the customer cars carelessly and like crazy as if they're racing on that dealer lot, especially Toyota of Tustin.

When you hand over your keys to a shop, doesn’t your car insurance liability transfer to the shop liability? If something happens while the car is in their possession, the mechanic shop should be liable 100%. This thing makes no sense at all.

I got a nearly new BMW for 30 grand that was covered in light scratches pretty much everywhere that were hidden away by wax and polish. I contacted lookers to initiate a refund because I didn't trust the BMW dealership to correct the paint and I knew they would rush. Lookers the people who run all of these dealerships forced the manager to order a 6 hour two point paint correction with gardx/protect x applied afterwards. The car looks brand new lol.

I love BMW's. The problem is not with the whole dealership. It's between techs, shop foreman and service managers. Too much penny pinching between them. The end result is carelessness, neglect and greed.
I once bought a cpo'd bmw and I immediately knew the control arms were bad, causing the new tires to start cupping immediately. I waited 8 hours from morning until night for the techs to get it right. They never got it right, then the service manager tried to put words in my mouth by telling the GM that I was aware that BMW's all have some vibration. The shop foreman even asked me if this is my first BMW. F'ing idiot didn't know I've owned too many and have all the knowledge.
Long story short, I hired an attorney which forced them to fix the car. I was done with them, so I contacted the state and told them the state inspections was rigged because the tired were cupped causing a driving hazard. An investigation was opened and the dealership bought the car back.

I had an incident where I had left my car for minor adjustments.i left it there for a week as we went on a vacation. I had it for approx 2 months; it was from two model years earlier which had never been sold and I had gotten on an exceptionally good deal, as they were anxious to get rid of it. Someone from the dealership took the car for a “test drive” (I don’t know whether authorized or not but one of the repair items was a wheel alignment which normally requires test driving). Th car was totaled in a rollover single vehicle crash. Every body panel received damage. The dealer gave me one of their demonstrators to use until they could settle with their insurance. They did not overtly attempt to hide any facts of the accident but I did accidentally find out they had never filed an accident report, apparently just hauling it back to the shop with their own wrecker. I wound up with a new car
(2 years newer) with the same low finance rate as the original contract. AND, I got VIP treatment from them until I moved away. One important factor is that when I originally met with them after the accident I simply asked “what’s the plan?” I know this was a key factor for the outcome. All of our interactions were very cordial and the owner later thanked me for the way I handled the situation. He added that they occasionally cause damage to customer’s cars (paint scratches predominately) and a good number of customers get very agitated, some wanting to “mess up my face”. Here we destroyed your car and you just inquired about a plan of action. He further offered that if he hadn’t come up with a good plan I might have wanted to mess with his face. I assured him that was not the case, but his pocketbook might have become a little lighter if his plan had not been adequate. A little understanding goes a long way.

Hindsight is 20/20. Looking back at all my dealings with shady businesses (especially new and used car dealerships), at age 71 now, I should have not been physically intimidated by their tactics. As a teenager growing up being constantly being whipped by my adopted grandfather, I should have realized it was only physical pain. So, when a bully service manager 6’-6” tall and 330 lb told me (a 22 year old) that the problems with my new car wasn’t covered by warranty and there was nothing he could for me and to get off his property or else and he won’t get the general manager involved, what could he have done to me, punch my face?

Goes the government own the dealership? No. Thus it's not public property, it's private. They should sue for filming on private property, totally illegal without permission.

If the government owned the property, he would be able to film. If they ask him to not film on their private property, they have the right to request that. BMW owns that building. It is not public.
