You could see if they would sponsor making a 1880's tomahawk.
They were used by a heck of a lot of people. From the Native American tribes to fur trappers, explorers, and settlers.

Interesting project. The style of knife you have there is called a "Battle Knife". It is really too light for cutting wood. The sharpened upper edge was that way so the knife would be dangerous on the backstroke. The knife was first conceived as a self-defense weapon. It gained a lot of popularity during the war with Mexico and the American Civil War. Most "Bowie Knives" were made in England and decorated with American patriotic symbolisms. It lost favor after the revolver became popular in the last quarter of the 1800s. Thanks for sharing! Stay Healthy!

    Yes to more historical replicas.
Great channel. Love the way you cover technology from age old natural material usage all the way to desk top 3D printing. Something for everyone.

I loved your technique on this knife. Leaving the forging and hammer marks was genius! The hand guard was amazing craftsmanship. We’ll done!

I love the scroll in the D-guard and the rough finnish on the blade, makes it look handmade

you may wanna be carefull about forging at the lower red to black temperatures especially with the sharp dies of the press, its an easy way to form micro fractures in the steel

I like the hammered finish on the steel. Looks great! Thanks for sharing!

Yes I’d like to see more replicas. Knives and other items too. Hand tools, farm implements household things. Pre 1880’s preferably. Thanks for showing us your superior skills and inventive approaches.

Nicely done! 👍 Rough and brutal design, and its look like a very efficient. I know nothing about 1880s, but I think, this knife could belong a natural born killer or a bounty hunter. Cool, this knife have a soul! 👍👍👍

Bowie himself made many variations to his knife over the years. Any one of them can be called an "official" Bowie knife.

A great contrast to this project would be a historical replica of an "Arkansas Toothpick". These blades - the Bowie Knife and the Toothpick - are the two iconic "survival knives" of the American Frontier and having them side-by-side would be pretty neat.
