I think this house was used as an office for an architect office. So many desks and tables, not to mention the sign. Did you notice that there was no stove in the kitchen? It had a dishwasher and a refrigerator, along with microwave and toaster oven. Just the kind of setup a break room would have. I think the stove might have gone where the desk was in the kitchen. I’m surprised that the power was on too. I noticed an extension cord going down the basement stairs. Good thing it wasn’t plugged in. It seems like it was a nice house at one time. That looked kind of like bamboo growing in the pool. That spreads like crazy and may have cracked the pool.

It’s been insanely maintained and still has that retro atomic feel to it. That style of architecture has a special place in my heart, it always hurts to see an old house of that era destroyed.

I love the features used in this era of homes, like the interior brick planter/divider inside the entry, and the brick wall, the wood paneling, the living room with the large classic bay window , it all adds such character. I can imagine that the large pool was a gleaming beauty at one time. Cool house! ✌️

Loved this retro 60s house!!! It was a high end house for the 60s!!! I get the feeling, by the contents of the home,that it was last used as an office space! The desks, chairs, conference type table, lounge type room…all pointing to an office space! Can’t believe that the power is still on 😳 Wouldn’t happen in the US!!! That was a filing cabinet for full-scale drawing hence that very long table, nice solid oak cabinet doors in the kitchen solid wooden handle. interesting house reasonably pleasant. I like the big outdoor space, thanks for the video.

It does have the similar layout of many houses in my hometown that were built around 1968-72. This one has been “updated” a few times, I spotted cheap cabinets & fixtures in the laundry/washroom room form the late 80s to mid 90s. The same for the front entrance, but thankfully they didn’t touch the brick. The cabinets in the kitchen are 1990s. Most 1960/70s homes had flat cabinet doors/drawer fronts. The flooring is new too as are the window coverings. That lower room with the built in are is a “family” room. The basement where the fireplace is would be a “rec” room. When my parents bought a new build in January 1968 they went with boring white sinks & toilets. Our house was planned to be a show home so there were some things that it had others didn’t, they had a 2 piece ensuite in the large (not humongous like today’s masters) with space for a shower stall and Dad put a 2 piece in the basement where it had been plumbed for one. It was a 3level side split with a basement (which makes it having 4 levels but basements aren’t included in real estate).
I bet this was a beautiful home at one time .The pool looks like it was a nice size . My parents house i grew up had brick in the entrance ,it was built in panters ours was a 60 s ranch style . The house definitely looks like at one point it was remodeled ..its funny usually when i watch abandoned homes the fridge is nasty an here its the other way around 😂 .i definitely see unfortunately a warrent for tearing it down .i srill always enjoy your videos 📷📷 Ethan
The little square pockets in the built in by the patio doors was called mail sorters. You would have a different pocket for different bills, junk mail ect... It is old school. In some movies you can watch the mail men/women sorting the mail by using this system.
Love the feel of this home 🏡 it’s making my late 80’s memories of Tampa, the place had out buildings, and close to the bay,where my friends and family would hang out with in the evening and watch the lightning storms,scary on the water, and Tampa was fun back then.Yikes! A lot of 60s homes just had one or two bathrooms. The house my parents built in the early 60s had one bathroom near the bedrooms for my sister and I that had the sink, toilet and tub/shower combo. Then the master bedroom had the bathroom that could be shut off with 2 bifold doors, it had a large vanity with sink in the main part, then the toilet and stand up shower were off in their own area that you could close off with a pocket door. One of the 2 closets for the master bedroom was in the main part of the bathroom and there was a smaller closet in the bedroom itself. We sold the house shortly before my mom passed away in 2009. The man that bought it got it for his mom, and she liked to fish, so he dammed off the deep drainage ditch that ran behind the house and stocked it with fish. Only problem was, every time we got a lot of ran the dam would break and the fish would be washed across the road and down into the river

I love the floor plan of this place. It was a common style and well built. The size perfect for raising a family. Our communities don’t need Mac mansions with the demographics of smaller families now. The carpet is protecting oak floors. The towel closet is the linen closet. Looks like an investor bought it, used it as an office and then let it rot. Terrible waste for such a well made build. It made me sad. I believe you said it was built late sixties but looking ahead. This style would take you well into the seventies and now, because they were built to last. With the pool, this was my dream home as a kid. One was considered well off. Thank you Ethan.
I wonder when they demo the old retro houses if someone goes around saving all the fixtures in the house for resale ,could be a good business opportunity for someone even some of the modern stuff that's salvageable. Hate to see all that great stuff go to waste 😢

We don't have bagged milk in B.C. We had it many years ago but it was unpopular. I remember cutting the edge of the bag and the milk spilling. I buy milk in 4 litre plastic containers. Much better.
I like watching your videos. When you show 60s and 70s houses. This one is a little weird. Maybe it was a business at one time. Where I live sometimes a business will take a older house. Redo it for whatever business it is. I have seen a dentist office, insurance company and a needlepoint store. Pretty neat I think.

I remember visiting friends of my parents when I was very young in the early 1970s who lived in split level homes like this. Very well made like most homes of that era. I always loved those "eyeball" recessed lighting fixtures of that time. Back then, the living room was the more formal larger room where people had the formal furniture and entertained guests and it was usually next to the dining room, where they would go next from the living room, for dinner. The family room, or den, as it was commonly called then, had the TV, casual furniture, liquor cabinet, maybe game room and was typically somewhat smaller than the family room back then. It looks like in this home the family room was in the flooded lower level area where the HVAC and water heater would also have been. The flooding looks like it was also caused by bad drainage from the roof and maybe clogged gutters and poor water runoff.
I'm shocked how similar this house is to my house. My house was built in 81, but with different number is stars and mine is a bit bigger on a much smaller lot.

They are super expensive as well. I have repaired many of them. They are used in restsurants because they are heavy duty and can take daily abuse that a regular household microwave cant.

The microwave is an Amanda commercial one used in like 7 11's. Question is, where is the stove? Or oven and cooktop?

They are super expensive as well. I have repaired many of them. They are used in restsurants because they are heavy duty and can take daily abuse that a regular household microwave cant.
