The first house is VERY nice. All the bathrooms; flooring; stairs; doors; bathtubs; even the kitchen I like (and I'm picky about kitchens). Whatever men built that home, did a FABULOUS job. Thanks for showing, I love to see the houses from the past, that are so beautiful even today. Timeless, really.

That would have been an awesome neighborhood to have grown up in. Modest well kept homes with big yards to play in. Glad you got to show us before it was no more.

Ethan, there’s a product called “Hot Hands” and “Hot feet” Please don’t chance 🥶 frostbite, or hypothermia, You’re a world wide treasure showing us around our people’s history, and architecture, and You are the ⭐️ Star of your show, and knowing that you have buddies around with you doing their vids close by is always good. No sign of animals, even the spiders ran south.unless a mouse is hiding in there, and no bear growls 😅 👍✅💖Stay safe always ❣️

Those refillable Zippo ones are the best IMO. They last all day, and you can fill them back up with regular naphtha. Stick them in your pockets, or get some gloves that have dedicated pouches for those things.

Hard to look at these homes empty and see so so many homeless! Saw a person that had his tent on fire it was sad. I would have been happy to live in a house as big. Very cool!

Sad to see entire neighborhoods slated for demolition. Those homes especially the last one, were adorable. Wish someone could have cut and removed the wall with all of the handprints and framed it for previous owners or whomever in that family wanted to keep it. It’s sad when old pictures are left behind also. If I were living with that eyesore of an apartment building looming over my home I doubt if I’d want to stay there and look at it everytime I walked outside. I guess there will only be “modern” new homes pretty soon and those desiring more space surrounding their home will need to spread further and further out into the country for peace. Homes that have stood the test of time should be able to remain standing. Thanks Ethan for braving the cold to share these homes. Go find a fireplace and a warm drink and enjoy that feeling of thawing out your frozen toes and just being warm. Take care of yourself, be well and warm, and stay safe!

Along with my last comment this neighborhood looks like a typical middle class family homeowners working class families. It sure looks like a nice neighborhood at one time, at least in my observation and I really like the first house because of the entranceway when you go into you got the tri level to go up and it was an open floor plan, I like that concept anyways you take care and be safe and stay warm.🫶🏻🤠

Ethan I live in Florida. I watch u all the time. I love the way u show these houses that have been abandoned…. I have a suggestion on how to keep warm in Canada. U see I moved from Michigan to Florida cause I was frozen there. A few years ago I went to the Daytona NASCAR race in February. It was very cold. I put a rain jacket that was lined inside over my hooded coat. It stops the cold and wind from getting thru to your body. My daughter in law was freezing the whole time. My bottom was a little cool but not bad. I didn’t complain the whole time. Try it. I love that you try not to cuss on your videos. I’m into different house styles so that’s why I watch. Thank u for what u do. And making me laugh. Have a great 2024.

Exactly true about the raincoat layer. Twenty years ago, Walmart sold these slick polyuratene? women's coats/jackets. Outside was thick wipe clean (blocked the wind and cold) and inside was a soft fabric lining that locked in the warmth. I wore that a lot on cold days, it was GREAT !

It was an awesome explore Ethan, including the track through the snow❄️, it was beautiful! These homes were definitely well built and stood the test of time. I love the unique, original front doors of that era, and other period architectural details in the entry ways. The original checkered floor in the one house, was amazing!🤩 I loved the brick on the homes, the white brick one looked really nice, even though that one wasn't accessible, it was a nice glimpse of it. It was a great neighborhood, no doubt full of so much history seen and lived by all the families that resided there. The envelopes with different addresses and dates ranging close together, was very intriguing! It's almost like they could have come from mail sacks that were undelivered for some reason 🤔 Thanks for braving the cold!✌️

This is what my town looks like, only it is more random....house-by-house instead of clusters. The result is constant construction; concrete trucks, generator drone, trashed roads etc. etc. Perfectly serviceable brick homes of 3000 SF or so go right into the landfill, replaced by 7K SF pressboard firetraps, with all the style of a leprous toad. Never a moments peace...that's progress in the 21st century.

That is so interesting. To find an abandoned time capsule house, frozen in time. I’d certainly buy it and rent it out. This must have been somebody who has just recently lost their home. When it isn’t a video about washing machines, it’s ones about abandoned houses. This looks rather recent as to when they left. Your friend, Jeff.

  • @angelarowe3472
    @angelarowe3472 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Ethan I find it really interesting when you go through these homes and there’s letters and things left behind like that because these are individuals lives that were very well lived in in these homes, and sometimes people that lived in these homes don’t have children or family to rely on and even though they might put things in the garage to repurpose them, sometimes they don’t have the time in life to do what they wanted to do with whatever item that they wanted to re-purpose and that’s more than likely the reason why you find things in the garage of these homes. Just an FYI.

Ethan, what a fkking shame for this neighborhood, some awesome house from mid 50s to 60s, as u know are built very well. What lots these houses had back then, im guessing prices for largest to smallest houses u visited on this vlog range from $15000 to $35000 brand new when they were built. I grew in Gloucester Ontario which Ottawa took over, so i remember similar houses that were worth in late 60s to 70s. The biggest house u couldn't get into at today's price new with that lot i bet be worth $2000000, easy for Toronto if not more.

Looks like in the house with the Canadian Air ticket, the envelopes, letters and photos may have been put up in the attic and when the insulation was brought down, thise letters and all might have fell down with it.

I don’t know what city you live in but here in Denver those would be full of homeless people. Especially being so cold, I’m surprised there’s no one in any of them? No homeless where you are? 😳

Awesome Ethan. I liked the 1st house the best. One house where that fireplace was off centre. Don't like that. Bummer you guys couldn't get in the 2 houses. Only 1 pool. Looked pretty big. You and Noah should go find the nearest Timmies and a get a nice, hot coffee. You have earned it.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Interesting, all that mail with unrelated addresses, could that be a mailman who didn't finish his route, and threw the mail in the attic? Then the ceiling collapsed? Just a thought. Thanks for another great video. Stay warm!

Love these homes, I would still love to own one. My house now was built in the early 50’s, I really like it but it hates this Texas weather. I have to remodel/rebuild room by room.
    Thanks so much for sharing
