What I find shocking about so many Canadian homes, older and newer is the open basement! You guys' heating bills must be through the roof!

Wow, two very different homes. That first one...fabulously unique. The entrance looking at the stairs reminded me of the movie Labyrinth when she was trying to save her baby brother on those weird stairs that went in all directions. Thanks, Ethan! ✌

That first home was so unique and probably such a fun place to live, to grow up in. All of the vertical open ness so cool and the glass walled office so unexpected. Although the staircase and the open areas over basement took up a lot of room, there was still plenty. I would like to have seen it back in its day, furnished and decorated in 70’s style. Love that peak of orange flowered wallpaper. I wonder what life sounded like with all of the openness. Was it full of echoes. If only walls could talk. Sad to me the violence of vandalism. I’ll never understand why. Also sad this house’s story will come to an end if it is demolished. The second house was cute and probably quite cozy in its time but is probably in the way of so called progress. Ethan thank you for sharing these fun explorations. Take care, be well and keep safe.

I cant stop thinking that the glass room may be bullet proof...a panic room. It looks to have been in the process of updating the whole house. It seems no expense was spared. Surprisingly I love it. I dont usually go for modernism. The natural light flooding the stairwell is beautifu. It looks like if you repaired the water pipes and sheetrock It would be pristine and of course the flat roofs and decks are a bix/huge expense. The kitchen was way cool. Especially the rounded bar and sink area.
Are you aware thal ALL hot water heaters have a date?
I liked the surprisingly large kitchen.

Two different houses, both were probably top of the line in their time. I agree with you Ethan: The open staircase sets the tone for the whole house in the first part of the video. It's amazing architecture. especially for the seventies. I'm quite surprised at the fifties home. It has a lot of room and storage, which was not common for that time. Very cool selections. I'd love to know how you guys find these homes, but I doubt you're going to share your secrets - especially out in the open on youtube comments. lol Thanks Ethan.

Two houses in one showing. The first was futuristic modern for its times. I loved the lovered shutters that were on all the windows. It's crazy how thieves went in and stole the copper piping. And then the graffiti vandalism upstairs too. For shame on those people. The brick fireplaces are nice. I know it must have been a mansion when it was new and the country setting was beautiful also. Onto the 50's house I think it too was pretty upscale in its time also. It's had updates in it also the cooking stove was definitely more modern. Love the old doorbell chimes. Two great finds again Ethan , thank you for showing them before they are gone. Peace 💝

Hi Ethan 😎🏎,That house looks like it was very cool at one time with all the angles and the height.I wonder who designed that. The glass room was alittle weird but cool at the same time. I wonder why the family left. That deck looked unsafe tho. The fridge was huge and the kitchen looked like it was nice at one time. I bet that pool was nice to. Overall people suck that ruined it ugh. What right do they think they have to do all that, just saying. That whole house is wrecked ugh. Anyway that house has so many rooms and angles that was cool once. I apologize for being late on commenting😎. I am going to watch your new video now 😎I look forward to your next awesome cool video Ethan 😎🏎always be cool 😊

That house is pretty cool. The grey and hardwood means it's been redecorated in the past ten or so years. I suspect it was more colourful when it was new. The old wallpaper supports that idea. It would be cool to know who the architect was. It's very distinctive and cool

If that 70's Contemporary or Modernist home wasn't featured in an issue of Architectural Digest or some other magazine of that type, it should have been! It would have definitely been worthy! It was Amazing!🤩It had that sterile contemporary vibe, but sprinkled with a some original warmer touches, like the hints of the original wallpapers, the butcher block countertop in the laundry, the carpet on the bar, and the brick fireplace was really nice! Super Cool home. 😎✌️

25:16 the house I grew up in had an oil tank.... I know the house next door to that was built in the mid 1800s, they had one of those historic notification signs on the front, so I think the house I grew up in was built in the later 1800s or early 1900s. So the house you are in is probably pretty old considering the time frame when they put those oil tanks in.
