Kim has lived a wholesome life on a ranch for decades, with her husband. Her radiance shines through. I love her husky voice.

Thanks a million for posting this. I could listen to her all day. After all these years, during which this great actress remained private and retained her cool blonde image, it is terrific to see that she is just a wonderful, kind, down to earth, regular person. What a class act. Probably the most underrated actress of the last century. Her performances in Vertigo, The Man with the Golden Arm, Picnic, Strangers When We Meet, etc. are timeless perfection. Thanks Kim and Sony.

Kim Novak has an amazing body of work: "Vertigo" a masterpiece classics :"Picnic", "Man With A Golden Arm", "Bell Book And Candle". My favorite Novak films are "Strangers When We Meet", "Moll Flanders" "Pal Joey" and
" Mirror Crack'd". Novak, a great star from the golden years directed by Hitchcock, Wilder, Josh Logan and co starred with Rita Hayworth, Frank Sinatra, Jack Lemmon, Liz Taylor, Rock Hudson, Bill Holden, James Stewart, Walter Matthau, Ben Kingsley, Dean Martiin.
    Movie Star!

Great actress! What I like best about Kim Novak, not just her paintings, but her personality. It is soft and natural. She is for real a gentle soul and kind spirit. She was also blessed with beautiful physical features. Her kind of beauty is TIMELESS.

Thanks for posting this...and to see Kim Novak after all these years. A great beauty and a very underrated actress. She remains fascinating to watch on the screen--there was always "something else" you wanted to know about her characters. She created mystery and ambiguity in a good way.

David Garnes yes, indeed!!! She had the true "IT"!!! That they used to talk about in Hollywood!!! One of a kind!! She could act, dance, and sing!!! Along with her artistry in painting, sculpting, and more!!! An ARTIST in the reL sense of the word!!! I've not seen her do a bad part!! there may have been a couple of not so memorable movie's, but her acting was always on spot!!!! I Just Adore Her!!!!!!

    Similar Roles...?!
Never consider that these people are ‘smart’, they’re thoroughly ‘Apple-Polishers’!
In #Vertigo, she was used by one man, then re-con-physically-figured by the man she loved.
    👋🏾 In ‘ Bell, Book and Candle ‘ she’s 💯 in control...she decides, because she’s interested, to
seduce a man, then she decides to explore emotional terrain -Because She Has No Overwhelming:
#FEAR!💕 #TheyHaveNOTHING : In Common, philosophically, or otherwise. Done, and dumb Question!!

I never understand why Jeanne Eagles and Of Human Bondage are never mentioned by fans when they list their favorite performances. She was excellent in both. In Eagles there are scenes where she falters but her drunk scene is incredibly loose, free flowing & real. Her mad scene at the end rivals any footage in silent films. In Bondage her performance alternates between subtlety and all out wickedness but there is a firmly rooted emotional/psychological reality to her characterisation. BRAVO KIM

Hi David! Welcome, come necessarily. Russia is a very diverse country and it is very interesting. If possible, check with the pre-history of the country (political history, art history and traditional culture, etc.). Shavkat.

I was lucky enough to be there that night. There is so much in this clip that is great. But a lot of poignant comments by Kim are not in this final clip - such as her feelings about working in the 1950s, feeling ridiculed and unappreciated, coming to terms with her choices, her love and respect for Rita Hayworth, and her relationship with Harry Cohn. Maybe there will be a part two?????

A tornado was in the vicinity of Hutchinson, Kansas while Kim and William filmed the dance scene? Fascinating. She was right when she said the air was charged with energy, and it effected their acting. A resident (who was in the film) told me that Holden got drunk one night and climbed out of his 4th floor hotel window and hung from the ledge.

These films should be represented in Russia. I think that these films are valuable and have prospects. I would like to help in this matter.

Stewart was responsible for getting `Vera Miles` dumped on `Vertigo` so as to insinuate Kim Novak with whom he would be starring in `BB and C`. Hitch was mortified, Miles never recovered. Lew Wasserman validated the transition.

Ah ha. Cohn who discouraged her from accepting Hitchcock`s offer cast her in an identical film at his OWN studio. By the way, I interviewed Kim just after she had completed both films. She did not discuss `Vertigo`. It was a forbidden topic. I was at the time writing for my hs newspaper. When I interviewed her again in the Seventies (working as a professional journalist) she did not discuss `Vertigo`. It was a forbidden topic. She only began to talk about it after `Sight and Sound` put it as its Number One film and Novak as its Number One Actress. By the way, in doing the interview, waiting until Novak finished up with columnist Earl Wilson, I got bit by the cat.

Many `sex symbols` Marilyn Monroe, Kim Novak found they turned off leading men and had to work with `old men` ie James Stewart, Tom Ewell. I am not surprised that Stewart said `he was too old` to go on playing romantic leads. Wonder why SHE did not see it?
