  • Today’s patch takes place with a very cold 6am morning field trip to Smith Rock State Park. Patch Secrets Below.
    Check out my Instagram! @annnannie - it's pretty cool
    The whispers of this Patch:
    - Power was graciously provided using a portable Car Jump Starter with a 12v output port. Audio Recorded using a Scarlett 2i2 No DI boxes this time. Natural Audio Captured by Camera Mic.
    Pad Sound (Key Hold on the Minilogue):
    Korg Minilogue Sequenced with Temps Utile (Ch. B) at 7680BPM (x64) playing a one step sequence. I placed three different chords in three different patch memories right next to each other allowing me to switch between chords while still retaining the key hold.
    The Minilogues output is being set to Zvex Lo-Fi Junky, then into the JHS Alpine Reverb.
    Other weird noises:
    MOOG MOTHER 32 //
    Assign (random) attenuated and sent to onboard LFO rate
    Triangle LFO - : Rings Structure
    VCA -: Rings Input
    Clocked by Temps Utile (Ch. C)
    INTELLIJEL DIXIE II //
    Intellijel Dixie set in LFO mode modulating Temps Ch. C Divide/Mult
    Dixie’s Sine wave output sent to modulate ring’s brightness
    TEMPS UTILE //
    Sending clock to Moog Mother 32 and Korg Minilogue
    Sending random voltages to the Mother 32's Reset.
    EFFECTS:
    Ocean Verb - Mother 32/Rings Shimmer Reverb
    Zvex Lo-Fi Junky - Minilogue
    JHS Alpine Reverb - Minilogue
    MXR Carbon Copy - Mother 32/Ring’s Delay

    I am generally impressed with your work and the whole original visual setting of your compositions, transferring your musical imagination to another dimension where the sound is no longer just a sound ...

    The Minilogue going into the L-Fi Junky has a real Boards of Canada sound to it. I love it.

    nice piece, love these locales; and 'very cold' - wonder, if 50-yr.old oscillators were out there that their drift would actually be a plus for music like this (or was/is it the other way around, heat = drift? can't remember)

    This is awesome stuff! The background just fits so well with the music. I am really interested in synthesizers and am amazed with everything they can do. What would your advice be to someone just starting out, and would the minilogue be a good synth to start learning on? I have heard nothing but good things about it.

    • @annannie
      @annannie  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Minilogue would be a wonderful first synth. Personally though, I started on a little Korg Volca Keys.

    Beautiful, as always. A technical question: how did you send the different fx to different voices? Modular direct out to the pedals work? Modular mixer with send fx? Thanks!

    • @annannie
      @annannie  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Moog mother 32 has a line level output (rings mixed into the ext. in) and so does the Minilogue!

  • @SandPrairieFilms
    @SandPrairieFilms 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just found your stuff and love it. I have a question, and I'm sorry if someone has asked it already, but how do you power your rig while out and about?

    • @SandPrairieFilms

    • @annannie

      Been using my iPhone (5s), but recently got a Canon 60D, which I used for the first time in this one for the B-Roll shots.

    May I ask what power supply you're using, I saw the description, do you know what model? Do you think it could power 3 Mother-32's?
    Beautiful composition btw!
    Thanks

    • @annannie
      @annannie  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      not sure :( had issues when I had more than one thing plugged in. I'd check the Mother 32's power draw and make sure whatever power source you're using can supply it.

    You. Are. Impressive! I wish I could meet you.

  • @josephf7306
    @josephf7306 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    So awesome! Would you consider ditching the minilogue to do all your synthesis within modular, or is the minilogue just that cool/useful?

    • @annannie
      @annannie  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've considered it, but honestly I like minilogue just in the face that its a different playing style than the modular with the keyboard, patch memory and polyphony. That and it sounds beautiful :)

    • @josephf7306
      @josephf7306 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Word. Yeah I think keyboards will always be more immediately musical, while modular is more scientific and thus better for tweaking/manipulation/effects (though also great for drones/bleeps/bloops). And yeah, can't go wrong with patch memory and polyphony!

      YEs, I did read it but since you started by stating the "Key Hold on the Minilogue" I thought I might have missed something when I read the manual - and all the other sruff was a little over my head. thx!@@annannie
