Michele Mouton, the greatest female driver to date drove for Audi in these times. She said that you have to think of the spectators as trees...you don't want to hit a tree, but if you start to think of them as people then you wouldn't be able to drive competetively!
I was test-riding a Norton Rotary motorcycle at the Shenston factory in the 80's. In the shed next door were about 50 RS200s packed in there, no one was buying them, too pricey. After the end of Group B, every Rallycross driver and team wanted one at the cheaper price.
I's not a track... It's a public road. So you basically could stand wherever you wanted or dared.... It's basically still like that, though some basic spectator safety is implemented on today's WRC races
@@MrBanaanipommiOf course you do 😁.. because there's no law or rule forbidding people to be drunk in a ditch of the public road... at least in Europe.
@mirkozlikovski9553 yeaaa but the people who organize these events mught get bad reputation or something, thats why they always show where you should be watching the cars go past, but then there is people who wants to.move other place to watch and easiest way is to walk along the road. Its not gorbidden.but if something happens it is either walker's fault or the organizers
I think we men have a problem with thinking in a way - we gotta check all limits instead of slowly stepping it up from "way too much" to "now it's just fine"^^
I think group B wasn't too much, apparently the reasons for banning were more political rather than real safety concerns, they just used a bad crash as an excuse to water down pure perfection.
Sadly, they didn't even mention all fatal crashes in group B. No one wishes to see things like these, but the cars, and the drivers were absolutely amazing. This is the reason why Group B is still held in such high esteem. Henri Toivonen was my countryman, and my hero, as I come from a country where motorsports and rally are big. To rallying, the death of Henri was almost like death of Ayrton Senna was to F1. They were the fan favorites and esteemed champions. Their deaths made the manufacturers think about road safety a lot more, and made safety a thing for motorsports. Before these events, motorsports were just seen as dangerous. While these events are horrific and sad, they have probably saved countless of lives in development of car safety. This is their legacy.
Group B was amazing but it was cancelled for a few damn good reasons. It was just too dangerous for everyone involved. Then again modern WRC rally cars actually set faster times on the same stages. But they are faster because they handle better, not because they have more power or outright top speed and spectators are more controlled these days.
Once again: please take away the subtitles that are very often so misleading. You are all more or less fluently in the English language. Cheers from Italy!

the latest evolution of the 205 turbo 16 (evo2) produced 530hp for only 880kg

And one of the best drivers from that era was a woman named Michelle Mouton
Lancia,Audi,peugeot...pojawił się bokser impreza i zmienia wszystko
There is another video on you tube about the corner that ended groub B rallying
It's a public street and no one is forced to watch. Everyone goes at their own risk. That's freedom!
People wanted to come home from the rally and tell the people in their village that they had touched a rally car!
That’s crazy how the spectators are right on the track! 😮

Sorry, I don't understand. I thought black people invented everything, so why is this suddenly a surprise to you?
