I do flex in london and its difficult to grab any shifts because it seems like everybody is using the block grabber software the blocks go in millseconds. Its really difficult
Just randomly came across your channel. Love your vids especially your holiday in the Maldives! 😎. I’m at the beginning of my side hustle journey and will be applying for Amazon Flex shortly, would be interesting if you can do a video showing how you calculate the miles per gallon on a 3 hour block/shift & also covering the paying the tax side of things. Keep up the great work!

Just curious what everyone is doing regarding the hire and reward insurance? It seems basically all insurance companies apart from Admiral don't supplement hire and reward so for example I'm with Hastings and they don't, so Admiral are giving me a wild quote but it means cancelling Hastings and paying thousands with Admiral then taking out separate hire and reward? Is there anyone doing Flex atm who has any ideas?
a month late but if you've still not found anyone try churchill or the sister company direct line as they allow top up insurance, i pay £520 SD&P insurance then £1.15 per hour with inshur fullly comp, i think third party was around 75p per hour for me
Good content, one thing I need to mention about surge pricing that it’s not a guarantee that it will happen everyday. Amazon surge pricing works on supply and demand, so if the demand is high and supply (drivers) are low price will go up. Around 2 years ago we use to see 3.5 hr block becomes £74 normally and accepting the block was easy also but we do not see this now as there are so many drivers doing flex. It is now become so difficult to catch block on base rate.
Do you also have to state you’re a delivery driver on your car insurance as well as h&r insurance? My care insurance goes up by £50 a month if I add commercial use! Still doing research to see if flex is for me
@ ahh fair enough. I did try that method when i first started but was an absolute nightmare when on road. As long as you roughly know where the parcels are, doesnt have to be in complete order. This xmas period i bunched up the parcels in 10’s, so like 490-499, 120-129 etc etc
It`s amazing to see the prices going up for the prime that just gone last week , and also you know that before prime days we were caped at a certain hours/money per week, looks like they kind of increase that as well during those days, I managed to make just over £504 in just 6 block`s , 2 double days like one in the morning one in the mid day (3pm-ish), and 2 days with just one , the lowest was £77 (only one ), and the highest £96 for 3,5 hours , but most of the time you go for 3,5 hours and then you scan 2 hours or 2,5 hours however i found that sometimes is not the real time spent like from the first stop to the last stop yes it is 2 hours but from depot to the first stop is like 25 minutes drive as well and also to come back in town another 25-30 minutes... keep up the good work i discovered your channel and watched already few videos ... really good content and nice edit
I thought it was inly me who isn't getting any blocks. I had one issue with delivery around mid July. For that my standing dropped slightly, but still above standard. At that time i was still getting blocks and some time good price as well. From about mid September, suddenly there ain't many blocks, not even normal price. Nowadays it is getting so difficult to get a block at normal price. Idk if its just me or everyone? I delivery around Chester area.
Yep same for me. Its been absolute tumbleweed on my app for a good few weeks. I got lucky last week and managed 1 at a surge rate. Think i’ll have to accept base until the new drivers realise it’s not worth the money and stop checking the app 😂
What do you use to get your hire and reward insurance for Amazon Flex? The partner that flex uses is like £1.90 whereas I heard you say in your videos once 62p?
Yeah annoyingly i’m now paying like £1.20. It renews every 90 days and they keep putting the price up. A year ago when i started it was 62p. The insurance aspect of flex is a joke
Who are people using for insurance. My main car insurance is with Hastings premier been with them 20 years odd. Been on phone and told me they don't allow top up insurance for hire reward. So basically if do amazon flex my car isn't insured by my main Hastings premier it'll be void if anything happens to my car.
i'm using churchill which allow top up insurance, direct line and admiral do too, failing that you can get insurance for everything including SD&P and H&R from zego or inshur
no you have to get another insurance called insure on top of your insurance, but i’ve never used the insurance, amazon don’t pay you enough to pay for insurance
Hey Tommy, i cant seem to find the tax and expenses spreadsheet you said you attached to a video in the comments of a previous video, any chance you could link it?
@@tommywills Thanks mate, on my first day i managed to stack 3 4 hour deliveries pretty much one after the other with each paying about £80 each. made more in one day than i do in 3 at my main job haha

Hey bud like the videos , just wondering if you have an excel template you use for your income/expenses please? Recently became self employed driver myself and me and excel don't work 😂
The only good paying jobs are the short jobs like 1.5 hours for £28.50 the higher paying jobs work out less per hour especially if it’s a long drive to the warehouse
love the video, i am waiting to be accepted. when you finish early i have heard you have to go back to the depot ie morrisons etc. is this true why would you need to do this surely thats a good pro in doing amazon flex being able to deliver all parcels before the time and finishing early so make hourly rate more per block. spoke to someone that's does morrisons and they say if you have a two hour block and finish in just over an hour you have to the drive back to morrisons and wait even if you are say 10 miles away after last parcel delivered. surely that cuts way into your money you have earned when take into account fuel and wear and tear. if self employed and finish block early surely you should be allowed to go home that's the whole point of being self employed doing this.
They always give me a new schedule to “Acknowledge & Begin” when I finish early but I Always respectfully decline lol. One time I did do it thinking they will pay me for another block but they didn’t. 😢😅
@@alexmitchell856 ahh ok fair. 72 isn’t too bad, but if it’s your first shift then try and get a 3 hour one or something, as you can sometimes be absolutely shafted on a 4 hour block. They can take the mick with the amount of parcels they can get away with giving you. I never do 3.5hr blocks anymore for that reason. Lately it’s been a 90 mile round trip and 40 stops

how do you get parcel order on scanning
