    I bought my first new Sequoia in 2001. Traded it in for a new one in 2007 and then traded that one in for a new one in 2016. I will always own a Sequoia. They are AWESOME! I did shop around and nothing can compare to the size and cargo area.

    Great Video... I just made the switch from a Chevy Tahoe to the Sequoia-SR5 model. It wasn’t an easy choice, but it boiled down to reliability. Sure the Tahoe is much more luxurious and you get better MPG, but don’t depend on it. In a matter of a year I had to take the Tahoe back 4 different times for the same issue. In the end GM claimed it was my fault, to release themselves from the liability, and asked that I pay for work that should have been covered through the manufactures warranty. I had to get the BBB involved and settled my claim. It was hard decision since I had been a loyal Chevy customer, but this experience was eye opening. I’m very happy with my purchase and know I made the right choice.
    The ride and suspension are smooth. The interior is spacious and convenient for a large family.
    Overall, great investment for a solid SUV and great resale value.

      Welcome to the Sequoia family. We have had our 16 Sequoia Platinum new and we love it. It’s my wife’s daily for getting the kids around and our road trip/vacation vehicle. It is a tank and no issues at all. We went to a Christmas Tree farm and it was a foot of mud all over, and there was a huge line just to get out, so we just drove around everyone in the mud. It was great.

    Sixty thousand dollars plus is a lot of money for a mainstream midsize 3 row crossover. But it's worth noting that a 2020 Explorer ST or Platinum trim has a roughly equal MSRP with a turbo V6 rather than a less stressed V8 and a tow rating of 5600 lbs compared to the Toyota's rating or over 7000 lbs. If I were planning to hold onto either one for 10 years, the Toyota would be my choice.

    • @djayt1215
      @djayt1215 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those turbo 6 aren't stressed. Stress means the engine has to work outside of it's normal parameters. The were literally built to operate under those conditions. That's like saying a v8 is more stressed than a v4

    The Sequoia may have bad mpg but as I told my friend who was looking at the SR5 trim over the Tahoe that *You're going to save $17,000 over the Tahoe so take the cash $17,000 place it towards gasoline cards and when the $17k gas card is empty sell it for $15,000 more VALUE than the Tahoe in 5-7 year's*!

    Took the metal skid plate off my Sequoia because it made oil changes a PITA. The one time I had to take it in to the dealership for an oil while on vacation in Arizona they didn’t reinstall the hardware for it correctly and half of the screws and spacers were missing. I had to pay $75 for the complete hardware kit because you can order just the individual fasteners and spacers. So the complimentary oil change only cost me $75 and a lot of aggravation.

    I would get a Nissan Armada over that

      I looked at the Armanda too,but I went with the Sequoia cause of the reliability of the port injection. Unsure about direct injection Nissan decided to go with. Definitely not interested in paying for the walnut blasting to clean intake valves.The Armada/Qx80 has great acceleration though.

    Something fishy about this review. He uses terms you find on the Toyota website. So is he just regurgitating the Toyota ads? He, like ALL the others say the same thing. The vehicles are old school. Why is that mentioned? Tell us what the truck is capable of. But he says the same thing as everyone else. Have you noticed, all reveiwer's say "contrast stitching" instead of some non technical phrase like white stitching. Makes me suspicious they are just another voice for selling Toyota's.

      Gregory S You’re looking way too much into this. It’s just casual terms used in the auto industry. My job is to present these vehicles for what they are. I’ll throw my opinion in every now and then but my goal is to inform not make a decision for you. I let the viewer decide based off of the information given.
