- This is a Complete Playthrough of Motocross Maniacs (also known as モトクロス マニアックス in Japan), a game released by Konami in 1989 for the Nintendo Game Boy.
This is not a Speedrun and I'm aware that I probably play the levels in a suboptimal way, so don't compare your records with the times shown in this video, please. This video is only meant to show some love for this game since I played it quite a lot when I was a kid and I think it deserves more popularity since it's actually quite fun.
Level B and Level C feature the same 8 Courses as Level A, only with stricter time limits.

Back in 1989 my dad took me to Toys R Us and he bought me a GameBoy and I got this game. I think it came with the game boy as a bundle maybe but holy hell. So awesome to see this all these years later. I was 5! I was a lucky 5 year old.

So listen up, I actually bought a game in Spain on holiday, years later I realised it was a non-licensed produced one, since it had like 20 games in 1! This was one of those games and I loved it to death! Never could beat it all as a kid though, many good memories from those weird games on it.
Yeah, I found this game on one of those 9000-in-1 cartridges back in the day, too. It was manufactured so poorly that the interiors of the cartridge literally melted after just a few hours of play 😁
I am from Spain and I have that cartdrige. Did you choose among games by pressing a button in the back of the cartdrige? Good times!
Same! My aunt gave it to me some 20 years ago and we always thought the cartridge was weird since it was called "80 in 1" (or even more than that), but in actuality we could play only some 11 or 12 games. The rest were exact copies of those games, only with different names.
Turns out it was a bootleg edition, which were circulating here and there but are overall an absolute oddity. There are not many information on the internet, so far I couldn't find my version. But I am currently searching for the games on the cartridge and Motocross Maniacs was one of them!

This was one of my favorite games on the GB and one of the best launch titles. Nintendo really did hit the Jackpot on this console having Konami/Ultra and Capcom on board making such great titles for the old grey box.
I just saw Projared playing this game, and my mind exploded becuase I DO remember playing this game when I was a kid but I forgot its name completly

Me too! It was more like 150-in-1 for me or something like that, though, I don't have it anymore because it literally melted while I was playing, to say how cheap its components were.

I remember that there's a bug, where your motocross can "drill" into the dirt and get infinite nitro. XD
There's a glitch in the 2nd level at least, using a half pipe "drilling" via nitro into the ground...

Crazy! Played this game for weeks in my childhood. Now the handygames looks better but you do the same. Except you need to pay for every nitro shot.
I remember playing this as a child. You could glitch the map in some places when you faced downwards and boosted into the ground. You were able to drive slightly below the normal terrain :)
For me, it's a GB classic.
Always fun when you get loads of nitro then just unleash and fly through half the level :D

Yeah, that's how I found out about this one too. It appeared on a lot of those old, bootleg multicarts. I discovered a ton of great games through those. :)
Oh my god, I finally found this game from my childhood. I always used to secretly steal this game from my brother. Along with Boulder Dash.

I think he means that he crashed a lot when he played it as a kid, and this video makes it seem easy and effortless not to crash. It’s really quite a hard game & there are some serious skills on display here.

First game I ever saw on GB was Tetris some lady was playing it outside while sitting out on a lawn chair. 2nd game I saw was Motorcross Maniacs some kid had it... kinda of blew my mind. I remember reading dot matrix on the screen and the little red power on dot.The GB was something so different and cool when it first came out! 😎

I have this game and only beat it once. One of my colleagues was playing a colorized version of this on his Android smartphone using an emulator. He said that it is part of the Konami GB Collection Volume 3, which is a part of a series of Game Boy Color carts containing colorized sets of Game Boy Mono games only released in Europe.
This game appears as well in Konami GB collection vol.2 in Japan, but I suck at this game, I love it, but I keep falling, and I even tried to spin my bike to land in the correct position, but sometimes doesn't work... FUN FACT, the Japanese versions of Konami GB Collection 1-4 in the game select screen appears the characters from Tokimeki Memorial
You play almost like I would. I would use the jets to take more shortcuts, but I'm sure you don't do that because it's an upload. Good play.

There is a secret route @ 8:25 somewhere press b button continuously for at least >6times or above (with jet is easier). You will reach the highest height of game. A place where u could get about 6-7 Nitros in a row
