The 86's legend say it's first gen was the first car that make such ancient art called “drift” by the man named keiichi tsuchiya, he was known as the drift king
The shake and vibration of the camera while the tyres loose grip is the most immersive and informative experiences I've seen in a video. Awesome stuff mate. Very talented
You notice fine artistic details in his style such as when he got close to the guard rail, instead of trying to straighten out and possible crash he calmly applied throttle and added more angle giving him more space while still keeping axcellent steering angle.
I don't understand how people listen to this shit. It makes my ears bleed. Here is what I would listen while drifting. www.youdubber.com/index.php?video=wGh0bASxZns&video_start=0&audio=CO4WwP8mk5s&audio_start=0
Down a mountain pass not much is faster than a gt86, the the drift king him self said that its one of the greatest touge cars of all time capable of beating monsters like bmw m3s and porsche 911s
Yep, people look at the HP and think something is fast or not fast. But there is far more to it than that. For a start, being RWD means you can put the power down better than a FWD hatch, especially in corners. The standard Lotus Elise used to have about 120hp, yet could beat cars with triple that amount of power on a track.
not saying he wasn't driving at the limit, but he wasn't drifting into blind corners, he drove in and always initiated after the apex. What I'm saying is he was in control all the time, he's a very good driver.
ErrorNoctis I've had my mountain moments. Was driving with a friend who's a professional driver and we went drifting into a blind turn - had no moment to see, let alone stop, for a car that had crossed center while staring off at the mountains. Left my friend with a fractured spine leaking spinal fluid that continues to cause him seizures. Also had a nice $10K oopsie in my 86 in a similar blind corner where the driver never saw me speeding around the bend sideways. I'm not afraid to push it. But you have to keep others and your own safety in mind first. Half the guys that buy an 86 have never even driven a rear wheel drive car and they instantly turn off traction control and go speeding thinking they're Ryan Tuerck.
Do yourself a favor and search for any Eurobeat song to go along with this. And then, maybe, if you're ready, up the video speed to 1.25x. Smell the tofu yet?
I once had the pleasure of driving a GT86 and am still thrilled with it to this day. No other car in this price range can be driven so effortlessly at the limit. Everything fits in this car, everything is exactly where it belongs, pedals, steering wheel, gear lever, as if someone had measured me and built the car just for me. I'll definitely buy one at some point
After watching pretty much everything there is to watch with this car, you still take the cake... at moments, it is like watching poetry in motion. I love the general smoothness and casual feeling and not just some "poweeeeeer" moments. I just want to ask one thing - what tires you had and in what condition? I cannot dance with my 86 like that even if my life depended on it, so I am curious. Or was it much more wet than it looks?
Thanks. I am glad that you like the video :) I used hankook ventus s1 evo2 tires. At that time they were almost at the end of their life. In the dry the tire has too much grip for drifting but it‘s no problem in the wet like in this video :)
would really love for a head mount version of this it just simply holding the GoPro in your mouth because at this angle it’s hard to see the car slipping out and regaining traction like you would if you were in the drivers seat
@@mickeylad1105 im in the same position as you, when i could finally afford one it wasnt right to do a monthly price. So celica gen 7 it is. Then now im in the right job, i had to move out🤣 But as of today I may have finally got one! Hope you get yours soon mate!

Hi, sehr geiles Video, welche Reifen hast du drauf?

I use the heel&toe technic. Means I give it some gas while braking and downshifting at the same time.
cool cool, I just learned that today, shit is hard. but keep it up tho, you might end up on the map
what corner / time on the video does he use it ?
