Thanks for the Shout Out, Brother. I'm like a young kid on Christmas Morning when you do that. Whomever buys this bike will be very surprised and pleased. Has a wicked powerband on it, that gets quite nasty! I'd have to check my papers. I think the odometer was a little over 16k when I bought mine. Yes, I paid $14,500....Y'all gave me a great deal which I greatly appreciate and always will. That gorgeous condition of that bike is equal to mine. Mine still looks as good as the day, James delivered it to me. ML&R. ❤
😂 can't thank you enough Mr. Kaplan. Your life is a motorcycling history lesson...💯
It's always a pleasure to share the history of bikes!
He is a cool guy I listen to him so much you can learn off him
@Noelzsazsa Ken Sr is a wealth of knowledge about life, not just motorcycles. He is one of the absolute best motivational speakers that anybody can listen too. He is a huge advocate for sobriety, and is the epitome of accomplishing the American Dream through hard work. I bought a streetbike and dirtbike from Kaplan Cycles. I live in Louisiana, and Will Not Do Business with any motorcycle dealership her. Ken always will get my business. He is one of the absolute best and most nice people that anybody could ever hope to befriend. The Kaplan Family is full of truly beautiful human beings, that treat their customers like family. If you ever get a chance, do business with them and show them your support. I assure you, if you do, You Won't have any regrets. Take Care Friend.
@SonnySeabury-d8i yeah mate he has a very good nature about him hence he is the only person I allow my 14 year old grandson to watch on TH-cam I he was ever to make his way to Australia I would personally have a bike here for him to have a look around the country side and meet people would be awesome to have him visit some of our Tafe schools trade school s and just share some knowledge with young people
We didn’t know it at the time but the 80’s were apparently the golden age of almost everything
Not the emission choked low compression V8's but they still looked hot then and now. Plus its easy to swap in a brand new big block fresh off a line. I don't recall people getting giddy and wide eyed over an 80 Elky back them but they sure do now when they hear the new 13:1 454 rumbling.
The ONLY paint scheme a Yamaha performance bike should have. 🤔
🥰👍🇺🇸
We were white/red for a while i think but this looks better
I totally agree 👍
You’re right, it’s iconic.
I bought the 1985 version of this exact bike from Ken. I agree with you. What you said is a big reason I bought this bike, because I love the iconic Yamaha Block Graphics. These graphics are what I grew up around in the 1970's , when I became involved with motorcycles at the age of 5 in 1978. You have good taste, my brother. Check out the Yamaha 4 stroke R1 sportbike that had these graphics. I think it was the 2006 Yamaha YZF-R1. Take Care, Brother.
Absolutely STUNNING!!! King Kaplan always treating us to some amazing memories from the past ❤❤
Brings back memories of my 1985 RZ350. What a great time to be 19 and have a bike like this!
That's a stunning motorcycle! I remember seeing one new at the dealer decades ago. The closest I got to experiencing it was taking my Dad's 1975 RD350 out for a rip occasionally
A old friend of mine his brother had built a modified go cart that was powered by a RZ 350 with shifter being made by a partial handle bar that was mounted on the left side of the frame with the clutch lever on it and the shift pattern was the same as on the bike . It had big paddle tires on the back & we would take it down his father's runway for his air plane in the field and it would throw 40 ft roosters off of both rear tires . The runway was close to hwy 65 & it could easily keep up with the traffic going by while hauling ass down the run way. It had tuned pipes and when starting it up and letting it idle next to the air plane hanger his father had that was made of galvanized steel you could hear the ping ping ping ping bouncing off of the steel .
My mate's were riding RD 250 back in the day here in Australia 250cc licence restrictions came in i was riding a xs650 with the plates off a xs250 at the time i thought i was the Fonz the 80s were the best era thanks mate
That's an exceptionally clean example Ken. I knew people who raced the RZ350 here in Aus back in the 80s, haven't seen a good one in years.
It really is a beauty!
All these decades later and I'm still amazed at the power/performance that comes out of those tiny little Yamaha powerplants.🏆
Kan I have the great pleasure today of seeing that motorcycle seen it on TH-cam? Beautiful but seeing it at your museum breathtaking I had a really good time sir. Thank you! See you at americade next year. Best on the East Coast. Great filming. Ronnie
Wow, thanks!
Dear Kaplan-Claus ......i been a really good boy this year !!!!!!...........& seeing that bike under my x-mas tree would really make me want to be good next year too !!!!!! ...i can help loading it in the sleigh too !!!!! ..................thank you soooo much !!!!!!! jim hubler ..................:)
what kinda price tag is on that bike ? iam interested in it , thank you jim hubler
Ugly bike
Another absolute true beauty from Kaplan ... Thank you...
I had one in 1990 as an 18 year old oh the fun I had I haven’t forgotten!
A work of art and engineering you can have fun with. I so wish we could get modern 2 strokes back in dealers and on the streets again. I sure miss those days. Just beautiful.
This was my first street bike! I bought it for $1500 when I was 15 years old back in 88’ Wish I could go back in time!
I remember his RZ in the 80's getting tuned at Razee's after hours.
😯 Your friend Billy just gave the recipe for what manufacturers should build. Twin cylinder two-stroke 60 horsepower😅 dirt bikes 🚲
Check out the TDR250
I went from my shagged out Factories to new DG chambers. I highly recommend the modern DG's. I know the air cooled type they sell are obsolete, but the ones from Dennis Kirk with aluminum tips for the RZ absolutely rock. Thye got rid of the previous gargle at 5.5 and seem to have more torque and top end. My RZ is here from new. The Daytona does whiplash your neck more at dirt road speeds but with stock everything, the powerband shuts down at 6.5. The RZ revs to ten though short shifting is still breath taking. Mine is a red white blue 85 that is also a Kenny Roberts edition.
The sound is unmistakenly Banshee 350!! This bike engine spawned the greatest ATV Engine ever made!
Thank you, Ken and team Kaplan for sharing. Always excited to see your new videos. It’s the best motorcycle channel in the Milky Way.!
🐝🏁 Great video 👍 one beautiful motorcycle. Kenny Robert is a legend this motorcycle is a legend thanks for sharing 👍.
In England they are called rd 350 . What a bike . They are amazing.
In the US, they were also called the RD 250/350/400 until the water cooled models came out as the RZ series.
My RZ350W was fast, stable, light, cmfortable and stopped very well. But sure drank fuel when twisted hard !!
Music to the ears When it gets on the pipes. Brrrrrrrraaaaappppp.
I remember those sick Mini beasts. Very cool!
The "America's Team" of bike shops. Godspeed.
This is my dream bike for my collection. I would love to own a Kenny Robert’s RZ350
I had an 85 RZ and won my "Rookie Race" at Louden Penguin Racing School in the 500cc and under class in 1991 on it. I no longer have the bike but I do have a set of stock exhaust too
Those Penguin races were legendary!
Oh Man! I've always wanted one of these.
Sweeeeet 1984 Yamaha RZ 350 twin.
So that's a banshee engine in a rocket frame basically. Awesome. Sounds killer and just like a banshee.
Sounds so dam good.
So Damn awesome seeing that. Remember that sound like yesterday. Young dudes don’t know that era of street bikes Too bad. lol.
Yessir...that's a Stunner!
Eric in NC
Skate board down the hill for good shots 😊
That was my first sport bike and the thing was awesome!!!!!
I had the similar RD400 Daytona Special with DG heads and pipes and bored cylinders. Not water cooled of course but every bit as quick as the RZs until the RD got hot.
Always loved those🙌
Had a 87 fun bike 👍
My brother built one back in the day that had 100hp was a handful loved my banshee with one of the greatest engines ever made wish I never sold it
That bike is awesome...l could never part with that.
Kaplan definitivamente tiene un ojo bonito para escoger las mejores motos o por lo menos las motos q en mi adolescencia fueron consideradas icono esa moto era cohete mi amigo la compro nueva y no avía motos de alta cilindrada q le llegarán
All those bikes bring top dollar and thanks for sharing 👍
Sweet RD350 Brother
Very nice ! 👍 a good racing buddy of mine had a
1979 YAMAHA RD-400
DAYTONA SPECIAL only had the opportunity to ride it once and the bike was pretty damn quick compared to my old 1975 Honda cb-400f
I owned one of these in the late 80’s. My current bikes were an RD350 and a T-120 Bonneville. Even then these bikes were quite uncommon and highly desirable. Like the presenter said, many were used by club racers. I was racing an RD350 based bike at the time and it was hopeless against these bikes. Unfortunately, I never even registered the bike, as I got an offer to sell it much higher than I’d paid for it. C’est la vie.
Hi Kaplan, I wanted to say that the sound in the videos is always poorly configured and edited, sometimes you can't hear it, other times you hear someone speaking only on one side, other times it seems like the voices are at rock bottom, Kaplan America change sides employee to record and edit your videos with the highest possible quality, because your channel deserves it and is being harmed by people who don't know how to perform their role well, which is to record and edit flawlessly, that they work with pleasure and the highest quality possible!!!
We are looking for a video editor if you know someone who's interested send them my way
One of my dream bikes
My friend has one it’s a blast to ride I had a Daytona the rz whole other thing
American pickers bought one
Frank got it wonder where ended up . Nice bike !
Dear Santa Claus: I've been good (as i can be) all year...
😍🎶👂❤️🎄🎁
Bill could rarely be described as even approaching 'boring'.
The audience could not be bored by Billy just because the name Kevin $chwantz comes to my mind... 💪 $ays motorcycleing is for individualists🏁
I notice how Kaplan never speaks of the TZ350 giant killer nor does he from what I see has a TZ350 giant killer. Quick as a switch👍 I want to see you feature an original TZ350 race bike. Just do it!
I had a new 1974 RD 350. I think it had 42 hp. and it was a rocket. I can't imagine that bike with 60 hp.
Dang that bucket list just got bigger lol😂
I bought one brand new with the same colors when I was 18.
Gorgeous bike!
Ì ride big bikes. Rd 350 got me hooked
If you aint first, you’re last
Very nice 👍🏻👍🏻❤️
Really wish Santa 🎅 Clause would bring me that bike for Christmas this year! Or a TDR 250 OR a YZM 500 or a cr500 or a Maico 700. I swear I've been good this year!
Santa’s gotta be pretty busy this year, but it couldn’t hurt to ask!
@KaplanCycles 🤣😂🤣👍
🤣😃👍😄@@KaplanCycles
Rock on,Children 👍 😎
That sounds so fuckin good !!!!!!
Love it too much.
Most stupid thing I ever did (well maybe a couple more) was sell my RZ350 that I bought for $500 back in the 90's. Nothing like them today.
Legend there 😊
Old skool screamer
It's the simple pleasures in life....
Nice RZ I had the red white blue spec2 pipes fox shock my buddy had this yellow and black 3600 original miles toomey pipes and a whole spare bike
You guys going to have the Stark Varg EX?
He isn't even running it to full R's and sounds great.
Robert's vs Sheen Legendary Rivalry. Listen too that "Idle". " Murder Hornet " on Roids.😂😅
Moto show de bola! Muito linda impotente! Mais bonita que a RD 350
Great video. Whats "Nemm " on the sign? Is that the new logo for the New England Motorcycle Museum?
I had bought a new in crate 1985 rz350 kenny roberts in 1987 from Majestic Yamaha Warwick RI for a discounted price . I had just bought a 1986 Yamaha FJ1200 the summer before and was a fun light bike compared to the BIG FJ. It was a tough choice deciding which bike to ride . I remember the dealer saying they weren't that popular and a tough sell. They still had a few left when i bought mine.
Sir rev alot , sir ride alot, sir race allot
I may be touching myself... what a dream bike..😅
🤩💪🏻🙏
👍😎
you guys should get a 1984 yz250 and make an rj replica
Had a red and white 1986
😻
A good rider on an RD or RZ could beat a mediocre rider on almost anything else. It was a true king killer.
Knights of elsi6
This I crazy but true .before the ypvs they were called lc s . My mates made a book called the knights of lc .
Ah wow, this is the very model I've been after for a couple of years. Pity I'm in the UK.
Bumble 🐝
I ride this bike ❤
Where ya'll located? I'm in Southern Connecticut.
how did the camera man keep the camera so steady while running down that hill
Ahhh Rippar!
Yamaha should bring her back by popping a fully modernized retro. Like Honda did with the XR600. Only it will be a YAMAHA RZ350 and it will be a 2-stroke. I can't care what tree huggers say because I won't be able to hear them instead just zing zing-zing z-z-zing zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzrrrrrrrrrrrruuuuuuuummmm
Nights of Elsie
I have a 1976 RD400 and a big supply of OEM Yamaha parts for it. Would Kaplan Cycles be interested in buying it all from me as a package deal and getting the RD400 on he road again? It's got just over 11K miles on it. I bought it in 1977 when it was a year old when I worked at a Yamaha dealership - it was a trade-in bike. If so, who should I call at Kaplan Cycles?
Text all of the info to Ken Senior at 860 916-9784 please send pictures and a copy of the title if you have it and you're asking price and he will get back to you ASAP
YES
Mirror mirror on the wall, Why that thing sound like Banshee et-all!
