I was lucky that my official MP-44 has not suffered the knee problems. I did pick up the silver leg version of the KO. I like having both versions, and for the less price, I feel better playing around with the KO. Thanks for the review. I hope we get a KO of the new MPM Prime. I would like a version of that figure that was fully painted .
Hi Lowell, thank you for the comment. Silver leg also looks good, and I almost painted all my Optimus figures silver legs, MP1, MP 10, MPM 12, I just think that's only right. I am happy for you getting a perfect MP 44, I will be waiting for the reissue and hope it's going to be flawless as well.
I am hoping the KO company puts out the damaged deco version. I have it on pre-order. I think it looks pretty good as well, and I am a bit of a sucker for the mold.
That’s the boat that I’m in. I have all the official versions from MP 01 up but I have the KO MP 44. I have the white leg and silver leg. I’m waiting on them to re-release MP 44 with the fixed knee problems.
Hi AfroAlien, thanks for the comment, and I guess many fans share your thoughts on this, Takara Tomy should either change the material used on the knee or revise the knee design for fans like us who want but could not make the purchase for its design flaws. Really hope there's a reissue soon enough.
7:33 ah yes I feel the same way, seeing optimus toy box at the malls but fail to buy it as a kid with my Aunt. 😆 It was waaay far from my home whenever family trip for mall food days.
Thanks 🙏 😊 for the 📹, I 👀 u painted this mp-44 ko as well it looks exceptional 👍, I bought T.E.01 last year and while it is a gr8 figure it lacks that premium paint job and articulation so I bought the official Mp-44 about 3 months ago and he is a sight to see, that paint job and his articulation 😱🤯🤣👍 is beyond Amazing they knocked it outta the park with him, I used lichlute 📹 on how to transform him and not 1 scratch if u take ur time like u said the transformation is very ingenious and alot of fun, I always watch socktv (Korea), lichlute, Golden Zhen (Chinese), wotafa(Japanese) for transformations, they do the most fluid transformation its really fun actually I don't understand them but I enjoy watching them and quite surprisingly I'm starting to pick up on words so little by little I understand what they r talking about, thanks 😊 🙏🙏 for another gr8 📹, merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 😁👍
Hi Asaph, thank you so very much for sharing your thoughts, and merry Christmas to you too! It's amazing that transformers toys are global phenomenon, and they go across culture boundaries, and you turned your hobby into a language learning experience, haha. MP-44 is amazing, and I just wish that there could be a release with the fixed knee so that it won't become a lucky draw for getting a good figure, and really glad that you enjoyed yours.
I won't lie....the TE 01 version of OP is the best version. The colors were right such as the G1 cartoon OP didn't have yellow on the arrows and lines on his forearm and the Autobot symbol is more subdued. The proportions were dead on. However, the transformation is a pain in the ass and mine had a mold issue where the head doesn't fold down flush in the alt mode.
Great review. Ive got MP-10, MPM-4 and MPM-12 Optimus Primes. I never really cared for that super cartoon look, so for my collection i've got the 3 versions of Prime that I like. My last main MP purchase was Sunstreaker, before prices of figures start going higher with each release. Just wondering how long it will be before Earthrise Prime gets taken over with an even better or more cartoon accurate look.
Hi Dean, thanks a lot for the comment. We share the very same experience. I stopped collecting the MP line after Sunstreaker due to the price increase and quality issues, and an MP 44 KO offers the option to experience the new designs without worrying too much about the breakage or the price.
@@OptimusLegends Also after Sunstreaker we started getting the MP Beast Wars figures that I had no connection with. Alot of people complaining about their Hounds breaking and I don't need a MP Arcee.
Practically the same. I am also not attached to beast wars, skipped Arcee, and bought a KO hound. I guess we represent quite some transformer fans in the community, Takara Tomy should really review themselves.
@@OptimusLegends Good to know we have alot in common haha. Was thinking of getting a KO hound but painting his beige parts silver, wanting a more toy look.
In my opinion, Hound has the best car bot design, well of course if the materials are sturdy enough to support it. KO hound is serviceable, some loose joints are easy to fix.
I think the toy vs cartoon dynamic between mp-10 and mp-44 was unintentional, and more of a byproduct of Takara advancing more towards cartoon accuracy with Masterpiece entirely. Unintentional perhaps, but still really awesome. MP-10 will always be my favorite Prime mold, closely followed by MP-01. I do wish the legs and arms on him were more proportional. MP-44 is astonishing, considering the articulation and cartoon accuracy. He looks great next to MP-36. If the knee joint worked properly, it would definitely be an awesome feature. I think Newage David did their knee quite well. The transformation on MP44 is a bit tedious, but I don’t mind complicated transformations at all, I find them quite fun. I really don’t like panel formers, in fact I kinda hate them with a passion, but I don’t mind this guy, considering they’re going all the way with cartoon accuracy. It’s not my style at all, but it’s still great. Never gonna get it, but a great figure anyway.
We share the same thoughts. MP-10 and MP 36+ are in the very center of my collection, modern rendition of the vintage G1 toys. And agreed, it's a byproduct during the process of MP's own evolvement. MP 44 is good, but as Takara Tomy admitted, the entire MP line has been going towards a wrong direction of over-engineering for cartoon accuracy, which lead to high cost, bad quality control, and smaller and smaller group of audiences, a lot worse than the Siege line. So I hope they could figure out something effective to turn this around.
@@OptimusLegends I believe MP-10 took some design ideas from the cartoon though too, like the shin vents, the matrix chamber and the yellow accents on the crotch, or perhaps that was taken from other interpretations of prime.

Thanks Jonathan, I hope you enjoyed the video.

MS-01 is the best of both worlds. A fantastic balance between toy and cartoon aesthetics!

very thankful for affordable clone toys
I enjoyed your choice of music. Your reviews are top notch. It's only a matter of time before your channel blows up with subscribers.

Prime was super expensive to my family when I was a kid, so I could only just window shop.
Well, bought a ton of G1 Prime after got a job.
Thanks for this. Do you know if there exist a MP 10 KO that also got the nice shine as yours got, especially at the thigh area?
Oof sadly the hip ratchet of my mp 44 broke today and I'm probably looking into getting one of these.

I just transformed my TE 01 2day for the 1st ime and I had the exact same problem with the head not folding down fully.
the new latest ko mp44 currently is without the fat backpack gimmick

is this ko smaller than mp36 megatron?
It's the same size of MP44, so almost the same height as MP36.
What's the legends scale one at 3:20?
Hi there, thanks for the comment. This smallest one is the THS-02 Optimus from many years ago.
