Actually, that lift isn't Shindler M Series. It is a Platt-Shindler lift with M series modernization

I've been today and there are no schlinder lifts left (the last ones are being replaced)
I liked the Schindler M-Series lifts
Try New Zealand (particularly Wellington, where I live) we have more of this type Schindler than you can shake a stick at!!!!!
Lifts and stairs A 0 to 30 do not stop at floors 2 and 19 please note these lifts go fast to floor 17 for access to dental clinics use lifts and stairs B
Lifts and stairs B go from basement to floor 18 but do not stop at floor 6

Is the results of the plagiarism with Dewhurst Elevator Fixtures (Generic). Jackson Lifts Elevator usual for the main fixtures which is like of Generic Elevator. Indicator just likes in St.Thomas Hospital.
In All Floors, there's a Custom Indicator above the door. The Custom Indicator is EXTREMELY RARE! Took similar with an Elevator in Hongkong & Singapore.

I've been there today . For an update i can say that lifts A ( 0-30) there is second Jackson lift + one being medernized and they are 2 remaning schilnder lifts . For lifts B ( 0-18 ) they are 3 jackson lifts + one being modernized and as well 2 remaning schlinder lifts. I asked as well the office : how long will it take them to modernize them all . Person said that all will be completed at : 11 October 2011.

Well i prepared myself today for the last ride of schlinders ( for emergency ) . But the problem is , becuase they are only 2 schlinder lifts , lift was stoping around every 2nd floor . I made somehow from 0-28 , but never full ride :(
wonder why the new lift has a button for floor 30 if that floor is closed
Beno is it possible for you ( if you got time ) to record full ride of a new lift , cos on the video is just steping one floor and i want to see like the speed when it changes floors. Besides i wonder is it showing something between 2-17 like 'EX' ?

@benobve I don't mean that if lifts go faster , but if they have the same speed like schlider lifts( you fell the speed , Accel etc. ) [The same as in schlinder lifts] . That would be sad if these lifts would be slower becasue that's the fastest elevator that i ride :) [In public places]
now this video already is four years old and believe me, it still hurts like hell that they replace the tower lifts with crap Dewhurst. Reminds me of the univesity college hospital in Cologne. They have done very horrid modernisations in 2010 too. All of the lifts without inner doors in the 50s buildings have been scrapped back then and replaced with the horrible stainless steel generic lifts, they didnt leave a single lift of that sort. Totally sad Guys has been hit by the Dewhurst virus, I wonder what hapenned to the Platt-Schindler service lifts...
Unfortunately, we live in world where money has to be saved. People can't afford all the luxuries they could in the 1950's. People are modernizing in fear that they will break in the future and they won't have any money to fix them. As for Dewhurst, the sad thing in NZ is that the majority of dewhurst here is used by OTIS and Schindler. But I kind of like Dewhurst, it depends, they make parts to a good quality, usually its the lift company that ballses it up.
what actually happens to the lifts that get removed? do they scrap them?

I go into waterstones in derby town centre a lot, they have made the lift there stupidly slow. I mean bum numbingly slow, I used to love going in that lift but it is sooooo slow. its a kone lift, I don't know if they modded it

its sad that all these crappy jineric lifts are replacing ausom old ones, ones that will last almost 3 or 4 times as long as the crappy jineric ones.
I remember in waterstones there is a kone lift, it s been horribley moddernised, they slowed it down, so now it takes twice as long to get to second floor, I usually don't bother riding it and just use stairs cause it takes me less time than going in that lift.
and also, I really like the noise it made as it was descending or assending, it sound a little bit like a computer beeping, ( I hope that don't sound sad) I am blind so pick up on little noises like that. but I hate lift moddernisations.
they suck.
1)So bassicly floor 30 public and will elevator go up or you have to take stairs from 29 to 30 floor??
2) Why jackons lift are bad and btw are they fast like before modernization ?

There is nothing wrong with these lifts.
The only reason why they have modded these lifts is this hospital is world-class probably.
