there are lots of thyssen and schindler lifts and some old platt schindler.
also includes a tour of the tower showing the diffrent floors and service areas

4:50 - ahhh memories. I had a customer in this tower when was at my old company. These lifts used to get packed and remember being worried when the doors shut and display changed to "17" almost immediately meaning to me "YOUR COMMITTED NOW!!" and the lift used to wurrr, creek and bang all the way up in a really heavy packed lift...it was "worry" all the way up until the doors opened! Nowadays I live this kind of thing of course!

I love love LOVE these super fast Tower lifts: I remember going on these when I was younger (abour 3-5 years old, Im 20 now) and was so thrilled by the speed of those lifts. The buttons with the red line led is something I clearly remember (and is seen at The Glades Shopping Centre - some trivia for you!) Went on a self tour today and came across the new ones - wanted to go back down in the old Schindler ones but the rickety door sound creeped me out! Missed my chance :(

I've been on the bed lift at 7:43 . I think the reason why they block floors is because not every floor takes you to the normal corridor . The lift took me randomly to the 14th floor . There is just a little space and bassically they made as a storage for paper lol :D

The high-rise lifts now go all the way up to the 30th floor viewing lobby with amazing views over London, that floor was locked off for renovation work at the time of making this video and now looks fantastic. It was part of the work to update the Tower Lecture Theatre....... YES there is a 200 seat raked lecture theatre covering floors 29 and 30 of Guy's Tower, its the highest theatre of its type in Europe. The bit that sticks out at the top of the tower is the back of the lecture theatre.

How they get beds in the higher floors if the bed lift only goes to floor 18?
What else they use the service floors for? In the pictures it is not that much to see and i think the floor is bigger then the one room where the lift arrives.

Floor 2 use to be a main floor but isn't now for the fast lifts to floor 30 please use floors 17 or 18 apart from the lifts to 18 and the service lift basement to floor 30 (all floors)and the bed lift basement to floor 18 (don't stop at floor 6)

why did it say ground floor reception and exit when you pressed 18 on the halfway up the tower elevators/lifts
The other lifts go half way up the tower between basement and floor 18 but they do not stop at floor 6

i worked on the installation of the schindler lifts, they are governed down to speed of 600 ft per min.
The Jackson main lifts and bed lift sound like an Otis Gen2.

I have not been in a platt Schindler yet but I have been in a kone m series and a euro lift near the river
Update: the grafton centre in Cambridge with the newest Schindler and the otis 2000 + a otis mod logic is closing Debenhams with the ecodisc closed

The fast lifts 0 to 30 go really fast to 17 then all floors to 30 but they do not stop at floors 2 and 19

I Broke a Platt Schindler lift in guys hospital it got stuck on G and the doors didn't close and it refused to go anywhere

How can you say that the voice is Drucegrove? I heard the voice at some Otis Gen2s at Leicester Highcross.
It is because Otis don't seem to be able to go back to their original voice actor to get custom recordings, so they use Drucegrove, which sounds much better than the gen2 voice. The only Otis voice I like is the 2000 voice. The voices Otis use are 80s USA Otis, original Drucegrove (aka KoneOtis), Otis 2000, new Drucegrove, Otis gen2, Unknown posh high rise voice, and modern USA Otis.
