I agree. It’s far more important to develop Caleb than to try to make the playoffs this year. Caleb is a rookie, no matter how talented, he can’t be expected to know all the intricacies of football this year

Herbert needs to be #1 RB. Or atleast rotate Him and Swift. Swift need to be utilized as a wheel route RB. He can be lethal out there.

You know, this was how it was supposed to go with Fields and Trubitsky. Amidst all the bad, there was supposed to be steady incremental progress. And we’re seeing it. We started with a shaky performance in game one to 363 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in game three! That would have been unheard of in Trubitsky’s and Fields’ rookie year. This is the guy. And remember, Peyton Manning threw what, 28 interceptions in his rookie year? Now he’s hailed as the greatest quarterback in the last 20 years whose name isn’t Pat Mahomes. I’ve waited 42 of the 52 years of my life for a franchise quarterback. What’s another year?

Never laughed, cried so much watching this! Coach Flux always says, "We need to get better!" He's a decent DC yet not so HC yet didn't call t/o with clock winding down on goal line. Offense had one TD in 10 qtrs. without luxury as other teams to 'gamble' anything. IF he doesn't turn this around fast - he's under hot seat!
If Caleb had an offensive coach we would be talking about him as the best rookie ever but now with that awful oline and that bum of a coach in Eberfluß he is discussed as a bust

Everyone hates Carton but they never point out the most obnoxious thing: he gloats and trashes people when they're wrong (or even when they're not and they just have a prediction he doesn't like). Carton is a Jets fan and he should sympathize with Danny over rookie qb struggles, but instead he acts like he's never had a bad take or his team never loses. Nick Wright has a similar attitude, but (as much as I hate it) the Chiefs back him up
Last season the Bears had the second most rushing yards. In the off-season they brought 3 OL free agents and drafted a OL in the third round. And now they are third to last in rushing? WTH
That's a fact but... Soldier Fields played a part in that too but why doesn't coaching staff LOOK at last year's film for advice, too??!

Justin only had 46 more yards than Herbert. Herbert missed 5 games (thanks to a terribly thrown ball by Fields). Herbert only has 16 yards this year. ??? Fields missed 4 games, and you can depend on Fields getting hurt running. He has been injured every year.
That being said, Poles trading Fields for what they will get back is worse than the Claypool trade. They would be better with Fields on the team.

I don't agree with everything Schlereth says but I genuinely like him overall. That said, he should be in the Hall of Fame. The guy was an awesome OG.

i think caleb looks fine. i don’t hate INTs, at least that means he’s trying to push the ball down the field. once he calibrates the speed of the NFL he’s gonna to be way more consistent

Last year 150 yards passing and you lose, this year 350+ passing yards and you lose, commonality turnovers and same oline, difference this year better defense and by far better weapons. Sad thing is that Chicago is struggling vs the Titans and Colts... 😶

For a moment before the season began, I really finally had high hopes that we would make a statement this year. This is not the statement I was hoping for. It looks like it’s going to be another year of disappointment. And possibly another quarterback wasted.😞
It's ridiculous for them to keep bringing up Justin Fields. At best JF is a game manager who can make special plays with his legs, his arm is "game manager". Caleb Williams has already made throws that I never saw JF make.

I’d say 363, 63% completion percentage, 2 fourth quarter TDs, and being surgical down the stretch was overcoming a lot for a rookie in his 3rd start.

With Williams, he ran his mouth, so no, he gets no grace period. He gets judged on his play, which so far has been mediocre at best, with zero flashes he will excell.
All I care about from any player is can they ball out? Williams texting his punter saying he won't be needed, wanting ownership stakes in teams, etc., well he ran his mouth, and so far it wrote a check his play can't cash. He's no generational talent, he'll sit in the middle of the pack as a QB his whole career.

The game would have been won had the OC not called one of the worst goal line decisions you’ll see this year and our kicker didn’t miss a 56 yarder.

The Bears are developing a rookie quarterback. Seeing him progress is important, whether you think so or not. Yardage is a way of measuring his progress.

The O line gels, Waldron gets a handle on things, Caleb and Rome continue to progress and the Bears win 10 games.
